Hope, Change, Control…
Rep. John Dingell (D-MI), the Dean of the House of Representatives, defended ObamaCare on WJR’s Paul W. Smith show yesterday. In response to a question posed by Smith, Dingell admitted:
Let me remind you this [Americans allegedly dying because of lack of universal health care] has been going on for years. We are bringing it to a halt. The harsh fact of the matter is when you’re going to pass legislation that will cover 300 [million] American people in different ways it takes a long time to do the necessary administrative steps that have to be taken to put the legislation together to control the people.

Hasn’t he worn out his usefulness to society. How about we euthanize him? You don’t get the final say in this, the people and the Supreme Court do.
Your day of reckoning is coming, and we will be the ones toasting with champagne.
Bill Mitchell commented:
Not to defend Dingell, but I think this is being taken out of context.
When he says “control the people”, if you look at it in the context of the rest of his statement, it is clear he is referring to “managing a huge influx of new people into the system” and not literally “controlling the people”.
I think it is disingenuous to read anything more into this than what the context relates. We can win on the facts and we don’t need to twist people’s words.
Betsy Ross commented:
Sorry, Bill Mitchell, there is absolutely no defense of dingells words, he spoke them, he owns them. Comparing his words to all of the recent quotes by dems puts what he said in perfect context.
Charlie Gibson commented:
He revels in his stupidity. He and his ilk will soon realize the reason why the healthcare reform, if you can actually call it that, of 300 million people he proposes won’t work the way he thinks it will.
It’s just too bad everyone will suffer before that fact becomes clear. I can hardly wait to hear the debate regarding the “doctor fix.” The contortionist MSM will be tying themselves in knots explaining why it was necessary to exclude it from the Healthcare legislation so as to give the appearance of a fiscally responsible bill and CBO scoring. Huzzah-hey!
Martin McPhillips commented:
It’s as though they paid absolutely no attention to the greatest economic lesson of the 20th Century: That central planning improves nothing and in fact makes things worse. In other words, it does not work.
Only elitists swimming in the prosperity produced by free enterprise could be so stupid as to believe that social engineering from D.C. could produce anything but misery and further social disintegration.
kate commented:
“Manage the huge influx of people into the system” by keeping them out of it with increased waiting times, refusing treatments, giving physicians stringent parameters and handing Granny pain pills instead of life saving assistance.
Do you like that phrasing better, Bill Mitchell?
Bobbi commented:
I agree with Bill. This is an old guy who said a 300 people. He’s clearly senile (85 y.o). On the other hand, I don’t doubt that this Health Care
Bill is meant to control the people in a fascist way.

when you depend on the government for all the basics of life – they have control of you. we know how well our “representatives” handle

The old Dingleberry didn’t misspeak, no one’s taking his words out of context nor is anyone reading meanings into his words that aren’t there. The old fart probably doesn’t even care that he came right out and said it because he and the rest of the Demonrats in DC believe they’ve won, that it’s a done deal, that they’ve socialized America and if we don’t like it, then too bad. They’re become increasingly brazen by the minute. I’m not sure if they’re trying to push the people to resort with violence so that martial law can be declared or if they think we’re a bunch of sissies who will never push back. Whatever the case, fasten your seatbelts, kids; it’s gonna be an even bumpier ride from here.

and one point to consider – these changes are for us. the only question obama supporters should wonder about is the us part – which side
will they find themselves on. power is fickle and
doesn’t like to share. there might be no room at
the table for all those who thought the history was theirs to share. when the rift raft of what was once a great people is cleared off the street so as not to interfer with another obama night on the town……..

I posted this over at redstate- it is worth posting here. I’ve know who these people are, I grew up right behind them in their youth.
Beck is wrong if he thinks peaceful submission, or even peaceful resistance will make a difference in their aggressive actions. They are set on a mission. Our impact on their actions will have no more effect than the effect the Jews had on the Nazis when they peacefully loaded into the cattle cars so they could be sent to their deaths. In my post, I refer to Sun Tzu’s principle about knowing your enemy. This is key.

“But that didn’t explain why the whole party including Obama didn’t waver at all in the face of calls, petitions and marches. I was a little confused until I realized who we were dealing with. They are from the radical sixties. They are experts in revolutionary methods. You have to remember they are the ones who bombed police stations. They are the ones who rioted, destroying property and attacking the police, staging sit ins, and tons of other very public, violent and dangerous behavior. Was it wrong? Sure, but it worked. This is their youth, their time, their legacy.

In the second video there is a reference to the Weather Underground, which is Bill Ayers’ (Obama’s friend) old stomping ground. Do you think any of those men and women from back then are impressed with letter writing, petitions, peaceful assemblies, and phone calls?
What did Sun Tzu say in his “Art of War” about how key it was to knowing your enemy
* It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.
Here is where most of you are making mistakes, including Beck and O’Reilly. The people pushing this agenda to socialize America (if not worse) are students and participants of this era. They cut their teeth on getting beaten and gassed by the police. They got laid after riots by free loving women and men. They believed in nothing but themselves and “the revolution”. Now some grew up and grew out of their madness. Many did not. They just realized to change the machine they had to become part of the machine. They own companies and media corporations. They are in Wall Street and unions. They are in your universities and in government. They are an entire generation dead set on following their two primary goals, to benefit themselves and benefit the revolution.”

Once all of us get this principle through our decent, “looking for the good in people”,mindset the faster we’ll recover from the shell shock of the recent events.
The quicker the better. Right on the heels of this will come cap and trade, immigration, more regulations on your financial market and possibly a forced seizure of your private retirement and 401K “for the good of the people”.
This is already in the works, as some in the “state” have argued that taking that cash and replacing it with a promise to pay at 3% interest is a good move. The next three years will be total upheaval, with only a chance to slow down or stop even some of it. Gird yourself.
Remember it is all about keeping the illusion going for as long as possible, while gripping you tighter by the throat.
Hopefully, in November the legitimate process of elections will swing at least one part back over to us. I’m not confident. They are trying to get immigrants as their voting bloc, increase the number of government jobs, and will work hard to steal any close elections.
You and I are in a totally different battle space than we were even ten years ago.

Dont you understand … Liberals are dying for the Federal Government to control every aspect of their life. They just can make those pesky little decisions anymore.
ie; Do I brush my teeth today? What about using water when I do it? Perhaps Congress should set up a panel so I can ask them.
That is the kind of help the brain dead that voted for Barrack Obama need in their lives just to get out of bed. Pathetic…but true.

He’s wrong about one thing, they are all ready controlling our lives. New York bans trans fats, salt, sugar etc, all under the pretext of HEALTH CARE. One can see what they intend, just listen to them and watch what they do. They want your health records on line, not for you, but for them. They want a smart I.D. card with inscription, not for you, but for them. People that don’t see this are not looking, wake up!

Archer52, can you tell me why? Why do the children of WWII veterans want a communist America? They were the first generation of a wealthy and globally powerful USA. Their parents gave them everything and then some. They were educated at what I assume were good public schools and then most of them sent on to college, paid for by their parents. I’ve always assumed that they protested in the 60s because most of them, for the most part, were spoiled and bored. Have I been wrong? And if so, why did they protest then and why do they still hate America now? I just don’t get why those who grew up during some of America’s best days, raised by some of America’s finest peeps, and best educated would be so hateful, selfish and ignorant.
