IS OBAMACARE FACING ITS DEATH PANEL?
The last 24 hours were brutal on the White House and Democratic leaders…
Obamacare collapsed on Intrade:
Obama agreed to an interview with Republican mouthpiece FOX News.
Jim Cramer announced Obamacare will tank the market. And, Money News reported it will cause huge tax increases.
The opposition is only 11 votes shy from killing Obamacare.
And, Jack Cafferty on CNN says that the Slaughter Solution pushed by Speaker Pelosi is beyond sleazy, Via Instapundit:
Things don’t look good for the democrat’s nationalized health care right about now.

I just spent the last 1/2 hour e-mailing the 11 Reps that are undecided. I’m not sure it it will have any effect but all my reps are Republicans and are already voting against. Take the time to make your voice heard – if this thing gets pushed through in the middle of the night, through slight of hand, we’ll all wish we’d done more to stop it before it was too late.

Well, Kucinich just flipped to yes after a lift on Airforce 1 and a tete-a-tete with “the one”. What was the price of that vote? I wonder whether this will encourage other fence sitters to go with the flow and get something too? Not good at all.

Update 3/17 11:06am Eastern – Buzz on the Hill is that Pelosi has CBO numbers in hand and wants a vote Saturday. There’s conflicting buzz on whether the phantom House bill will be released today.

Their reporting was definitely geared to the right of the other cable news networks and the Big Three, but I never thought of Fox News as the mouthpiece for the Republican Party. Perhaps as The News Conservatives Can Use, but not R’s mouthpiece. Be that as it may, it’s past-tense now.
In the short time since the Saudi prince and Rupert Murdoch strengthened their financial ties in each other’s news business, Fox has made a gratuitous and obvious move leftward, in both their reporting and their opinion programs (most obvious with O’Reilly and Beck’s programs). So, I’m not the least bit surprised that Obamao will be interviewed on Fox. This isn’t some anomaly; instead, it’s a sign of the changes at Fox. I expect that this won’t be his last interview with Fox.
Message to conservatives: Fox News is not your friend anymore.

Rep. Steve King (R-IA) is calling for a new procedural solution to stop the health care bill: Have an angry mob of citizens storm Washington and prevent Congress from acting, in imitation of the Velvet Revolution that overthrew communist rule in Czechoslovakia!
The Huffington Post interviewed King after his speech at today’s “Code Red” anti-health care bill rally, a speech in which he called upon the crowd to “Storm this city, fill up Washington D.C., jam this capital so they can’t move.”
Speaking to the Huffington Post shortly after his speech, King declared that a peaceful uprising, a la the successful overthrowing of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia on the streets of Prague in 1989 “would be fine with me.”
“Fill this city up, fill this city, jam this place full so that they can’t get in, they can’t get out and they will have to capitulate to the will of the American people,” he said.
“So this is just like Prague under communist rule?” the Huffington Post asked.
“Oh yeah, it is very, very close,” King replied. “It is the nationalization of our liberty and the federal government taking our liberty over. So there are a lot of similarities there.”

Do you people realize that with the passage of this health care bill the Federal government of the United States of America will have confiscated over 20% of GDP when you combine the tax withholdings of Social Security, Medicare and this bill?

We realize only too well and hope the country can hold out until the mid-term elections.
One of Stupak’s bloc has just flipped: Oberstar will vote yes after talking with Nelson. I wonder how much this vote cost us?
