We are 11 votes short from killing nationalized health care!
CNN reported:
Five more House Democrats said Tuesday that they will vote against Senate health care legislation, which puts opponents of reform just 11 votes shy of the 216 needed to prevent President Obama from scoring a major victory on his top domestic priority.
An ongoing CNN analysis shows that opposition in the House to the Senate health care plan has reached 205 members.
A total of 27 House Democrats, including nine who supported the House plan in November, have indicated that they would join a unified Republican caucus in opposing the Senate plan, which passed in that chamber December 24 with the minimum required 60 votes.
Nonetheless, House Democratic Caucus Chairman John Larson of Connecticut said Monday after a meeting with rank-and-file Democrats that “the votes are there” to pass the health care bill.
Among at least 27 Democrats who will vote against the bill is Rep. Mike McIntyre of North Carolina, who confirmed his opposition Monday.
Rep. Paul Ryan told Greta Van Susteren last night that Repubicans still believe democrats are 10 votes shy from passing Obamacare.
Related… On Tuesday’s Mark Levin Show: Mark announced that the Landmark Legal Foundation and he are prepared to fight this health care bill if it is passed via the Slaughter rule. They will challenge the constitutionality of the bill because you cannot have a law that is not voted on by Congress – as explicitly said in the Constitution. No previous Congress has ever said that it’s passed a bill when it hasn’t.

Let them pass it, WE THE PEOPLE will strike it down.

I’m confident this won’t, whatever it is, however worded, pass.
if I’m wrong and it does, then it will either be repealed or unfunded, or declare Unconstitutional.
Either way the Democratic Socialists in our midst lose.

Looks like the American People are doing better than Pelosi at the whip count.

Congressman Paul Ryan said tonight that the Democrats keep coming up with new schemes to make the passage of this bill appear inevitable. They want to depress our motivation while they struggle to get this thing passed.
Perhaps an entitlement bill has never been repealed before but no entitlement bill was ever deemed passed before. There is so much chicanery going on that this bill could be tied up in the courts for years. Also, 34 Governors have decided to take this bill to court if it passes because they believe its Unconstitutional to force people to buy Health Insurance.

As Yogi Berra used to say, “It ain’t over till it’s over”, and Nancy Pelosi is playing the part of Lucy while we play Charlie Brown. Until the Democrats are out of control of the House AND the Senate AND the White House, “it ain’t over”…and there is a SCOTUS seat about to open up, too.

Let me be clear, all I want is your money and your medical records! How bad is that? America sucks and I am here to make it suck more.
No, I will not provide my real birth certificate or any of my medical records. I certainly will NOT be joining 0bamacare! It sucks. Did you know that 70 people die per day without insurance and the other 6100 die per day with insurance. Hence, insurance sucks. That’s why I should take it over… and I need another scam to cover-up my last scam.
Further, I have my own lush government perk as does San Fran Nan! The taxpayers suck so they should have crappier insurance while I take my 30% cut, San Fran Nan takes her 30% and Harry “The war is lost” Reid takes his 30% cut. With those Over-head numbers we should do at least as well as my “Cash for Clunkers” program!
Speaking of the Speaker Pelosi, if she doesn’t get the votes to ram 0bamacare through I will personally will toss her under the bus. Sure, splattered Botox smells worse than Skunk Oil but I’ll just roll up the windows and hold my nose.
My limousine is running and I have a meeting with The Botox B!tch. One of two things are going to happen: The Botox B!tch rolls the Taxpayers – or the Bus rolls over her! America sucks. Good day.

Step one- defeat the bill. If that fails. Step two-vote out the “yes” politicians. Step three- encourage your state representatives to pass laws and enforce regulations that prevent the bill from affecting the citizens of that state. Great fodder for courts for the next ten years as they argue over the tenth amendment. Understand, the feds as NO power unless you give it to them.
If your state buckles under the fear of the loss of federal funds (the first threat Obama would make), then there is.. Step Four- open civil disobedience. Make it tough for any politician to go anywhere, speak anywhere, have fund raising events anywhere. Make ’68 look like a boy scout summer camp.
After that, who knows. We are Americans, not Chinese, not Russians, not Europeans. We live in a land built of dreams and fueled by free will. No biased public education and a generational welfare state can change that fact, only slow us down a little. We don’t like what D.C. is doing? Then throw the bums out.

I really don’t understand CNN’s article. I thought Pelosi and Co. were still 10-12 votes short on getting to 216 themselves. The only way we could be 11 votes shy of being able to KILL the bill would be if they had 11 more votes than they needed–and they don’t.

I don’t think you people understand. This bill is going to become law. If they don’t get the votes to pass this abomination they are just going to “deem” it passed and send it to The One for signing. Miss Nancy said it plain and clear, what ever it takes. So to put it in Obama speak ” So let it be written, so let it be done.

I think we should be practicing that civil disobedience NOW….so that they have a small taste of what is to come…IF …obamacare gets passed.

If this death health care bill passes we need to rush and rally around the White House and the senate.

i could be wrong but that would seem to have
not such great consequences for the banks. not
that would bother obama so much. and i can’t help but wonder about the well-to-do obama supporters – will they be sitting in the sinking
ship of state with us or is there a special dispensation for them. first they came for the lil’ guy and i didn’t care yada yada….next they came for me and they didn’t care that i was one of bama’s biggest supporters….so much for loyalty – there is none between thieves….

Exclusive: Study shows ObamaCare will destroy as many as 700,000 jobs by 2019
During the ObamaCare summit three weeks ago, Nancy Pelosi declared that the bill would create four million jobs over the next ten years, with 400,000 new jobs created almost immediately. Pelosi relied on a study written by the left-wing advocacy group Center for American Progress for those figures, although the Bureau of Labor Statistics already predicts growth in the health-care industry of 3.2 million jobs without ObamaCare. Now, Americans for Tax Reform and the Beacon Hill Institute have conducted their own study using CAP’s methodology and determined that ObamaCare will destroy jobs, not create them.

If the bill becomes law I wouldn’t count on it being ruled unconstitutional by SCOTUS- remember campaign finance reform?
I also don’t see how the Republicans could possibly repeal it. They would never get the votes to override a veto.
Best to kill it now-DEAD!

While Massachusetts’ uninsured rate has dropped to around 3%, 68% of the newly insured since 2006 receive coverage that is heavily or completely subsidized by taxpayers. While Mr. Romney insisted that everyone should pay something for coverage, that is not the way his plan has turned out. More than half of the 408,000 newly insured residents pay nothing, according to a February 2010 report by the Massachusetts Health Connector, the state’s insurance exchange.
Another 140,000 remained uninsured in 2008 and were either assessed a penalty or exempted from the individual mandate because the state deemed they couldn’t afford the premiums.
