Blue Dog Leader Says "Slaughter Solution" Is "Poison" (Audio)

The co-chairwoman of the Blue Dog Coalition of the US House told reporters yesterday that the “Slaughter Solution” is “poison.” Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin (D-S.D.), who is a “firm no” on the bill itself, said the process Democrats are considering would spell disaster for the climate in Congress.

“While deeming – like reconciliation – has been used by Republicans and Democrats in the past, the context in which it would be used in this case leads me to conclude that it would poison an already terribly partisan atmosphere and leave the Congress even less able to find bipartisan solutions to fiscal problems that are on the verge of becoming overwhelming.”

And if you have any foresight and can read between the lines, it also sets up the scenario in which the Democrats get demolished in the November elections (and hopefully 2012) and a flood of Republicans come in and start “deeming” and “reconciling” hand over fist.
Beware the precedents you set, Democrats. “Unprecedented” and “historic” can come back to bite you in the a$$ when it gets used against you.

Sure it is poison but it has the grape flavor like all the kool-aid that they drink all the time. So She will drink it just the same.

Well why are we going the gradual route, I just read the Drudge piece on IMPEACHING Obama and I leapt out of my seat saying “YES”, if screwing with the legislative process, graft, corruption, intimidation and bribery aren’t sufficient reasons, there never will be a reason to impeach. I say the American people and our allies should slap back, and slap back HARD.
Let’s wait until 2011, however, so we have a cleaned-up Congress to work with on the articles of impeachment. The sewer we have in there now is completely non-compliant with the law and reason.

I stand corrected. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin might be a good one on HRC But she still a Democrat ect. She will get primaried by those who want her to vote yes. Those that vote no will not get tossed by the voters but by their own party. But those that vote yes will get tossed by their voters.

“I will not support either the Senate bill or reconciliation package,” Herseth Sandlin said. on March 18 on the day of vote. One will not know until all the bones have been broken.

Stephanie represents a state with a large interest in the healthcare field (Sanford Research, Sanford Children’s Hospital, etc.). There are a lot of healtcare employees in South Dakota. It is in SD’s best interest that she votes NO on this monstrosity.
