Pakistani Dawn news posted this photo with the story of Gadahn’s capture:

Dawn added: “Pennsylvania-born Abu Yahya is a US citizen and assumed to be a commander of foreign militants fighting in Afghanistan against the US. He was living with Osama Bin Ladin after 9/11 attacks in New York. His name is included in the top ten wanted on the CIA list.”
American traitor Adam Gadahn was captured in Pakistan.
Here’s one of Gadahn’s earlier releases for Al-Qaeda.
The reported capture of Gadahn comes the same day as As Sahab, al Qaeda’s propaganda arm, released a video of him praising Major Nidal Hasan, the Muslim US Army officer who murdered 13 soldiers at Fort Hood, Texas, on Nov. 5, 2009.
ABC reported:
Adam Gadahn, an American who became al-Qaeda’s top spokesman, has been arrested in Pakistan, according to Pakistani authorities.
Pakistani intelligence officers report that Gadahn was captured in Karachi within the past few days, but did not provide more details.
Gadahn is wanted by U.S. authorities for treason, and has been on the most-wanted list for six years. There is $1 million reward for his caputure.
Jammie Wearing Fool has several updates.
The Long War Journal is also following the story and has updates from the Pakistani press.
So, do you suppose Obama has him lawyered up yet?
UPDATE: Apparently, it was not Adam Gadahn but some other American jihadist who was arrested.

Tammy commented:
Awwwww. Poor baby.
Captured by the Paki’s?
Don’t they use REAL torture over there?
Now THAT’S gonna hurt.
Valerie commented:
“Close aide of Bin Laden” or “the attempted voice of Bin Laden once the original cooled to room temperature?”
Since he’s been captured instead of killed, maybe we’ll find out.
Male Silverback commented:
Tammi you need to emphasize the long a in Paki if you want to be hip like our President.
Its Paaaaakeeestaaahhhn.
Andrew B commented:
Adam Gadahn is as close to a dictionary definition of a traitor as we are ever likely to see, yet I would bet that he will die of old age.
Treason no longer means anything in America, and it has not for many years. I don’t think we have the willpower as a nation to execute him, although we should do so without delay.
A law that is no longer enforced is worse than no law at all, since it undermines confidence in other laws. If we charge Adam Gadahn with treason, then allow him to plead to a lesser charge, we will show that treason no longer exists. That, I fear, may be the course we see in the months and years ahead.
Floradora commented:
Andrew B….unless, of course, you are “right wing extremist” Tim McVeigh. That’s not to say he shouldn’t have been executed. He should’ve been, and was. But when the ideological tables are turned, all bets are off. What say you Janet Reno?
iconoclast commented:
Cue reaction by the leftards in defense of Gadahn in 3..2..1..

I just switched over to the hufpo to see what the lefties are saying about it.
Most of the posts are how Obama is getting it done. So now it is cool to be a wartime President.
Zipity commented:
Obama and Eric Holder cannot wait to get this guy in to Traffic Court. Or maybe he’ll skip it entirely and be rushed to the Oscars as a special honored guest? Or perhaps go out on a promotional tour for the NY Times…? Sadly, none of these scenarios seem that far-fetched….
Old Marine commented:
Pictures with him in the Situaton Room, you know like jay z and the other gangsters.

His interrogation in Pakistan will be a life-altering experience for him. Would be a big hit as a Pay-for-View event on American cable TV.

How brilliant would it be if this guy had been a CIA plant in Al-Qeada?
Is it just possible this guy has been a patriot for this country all along and is now being debriefed?
I’m just sayin’.
I could be totally off base, but strange crap does happen in espionage.
Kenny Solomon commented:
Obama doesn’t have him lawyered up….. No need…… He’s already been appointed and confirmed to DHS as the administration’s new ‘Terrorism Czar’.
DaveinPhoenix commented:
It would really suck if he “unexpectedly” tried to escape and was shot dead…:)

Zipity posting above stole my thunder!
I was posting:
I figure after this kid gets done suing the US for emotional damage caused by his capture and interrogation, he’ll get a donut, counselor, cash settlement, publishing deal, speaking tour, job as senior writer at HuffPo, and then a cabinet position with the Obama Administration.

This is going to be a REAL test for the Community Organizer-in-Chief and his cadre
of terrorist-defending lawyers at DOJ.
I suspect that, privately, these DOJ lawyers cant wait to get this dude into civilian court and see their defense attorney allies start throwing hostile witnesses at the prosecution to show how the the USA is The.Worst.Country.In.The.World.
My opinion is that every fiber of being in this admistration not only understands but in many ways empathizes with Ghadan (his worldview if not his methods i mean).
And the Obama folks will do everything they can to soften the blow of his capture and eventual trial right up to the point where public opinion blows up in their faces and the dude is forced to do the Gitmo shuffle.
Paranoid? Maybe, but only because dudes in dark suits and sunglesses are chasing me with black helicopters. Seriously. What?

Floradora comment #7 — You should read the Rohrabacher report on Oklahoma City before calling McVeigh a “right winger”.

There’s a lot more than loose ties to Ramzi Yousef there. & If KSM’s original confession is to be believed, he was in operational control of what was going on in The Philippines in the mid 90′s.
One link is circumstantial a dozen links is a Jihad Plot.
Neoavatara commented:
Well, no matter what, this is good news for this country. I don’t really care who takes credit for it.
As for Gadahn…this is a perfect use of Article III, section 3 of the constitution: treason. He is an American citizen, and thus, should fall under that alone. I hope they go for the death penalty.

He must be thrilled Obama is president.
Pat the First commented:
Since he has been indicted, his charges are set. My guess is that he spends the rest of his miserable life in SuperMax in Florence, CO.

So, a few years from now, how would the Obama’s react if one of their daughters brought home someone like this turd and said they were engaged?

excellent observation..
we can only hope & pray it is so..
if not, we either lose nothing and another one bites the dust, or we lose everything via Obama giving him KSM status, he lawyers up via the DOJ and is evetually released, free to go to Samolia or back to Pak & start up where he left off with gained secrets from US to give to AQ et al..

or he could have been captured with a purpose in mind.. like getting back to the states so as to communicate AQ orders to embedded cells in the US via lawyers &/or other means.. wouldn’t be the first time, not to mention much easier for an “American”.. gah!!

Good, our military needs to capture Obama, that is a terrorist supporter — thus treason criminal.
