Because nothing gets the crowd going like a few good trillion dollar budget deficit jokes.

Yuk-Yuk… Barack Obama and Senate democrats got together today and cracked jokes about how they’re not going to pay back the deficit they tripled in 2009.
Senator Bennet (D-CO) started off the comedy hour:

The senator’s daughter sounds like she’ll make a good democrat. She’s not going to pay the budget deficit back either.

Talk about a knee slapper… This year democrats will likely quadruple the last Bush deficit. Get it? Quadruple! Hah!

  1. Gotta love those Democrats. They really care about our country. There’s so much concern about our general wellbeing. They are the ones who really empathize with our pain.

  2. In a different country, the citizens would’ve made burgers out these f**g bastards. But we’re in America, the land of the “taking freedom for granted.”

  3. Ridi, Pagliaccio, e ognun applaudirà.

But that was just a one-act, and we’ll be around for Act III. Count on it.

  4. Do they really think they can sustain continued borrowing and entitlements? It might keep the Dems in power by making people beholden to them, but only so long as the Dems can keep handing out the money… and that well will eventually run dry. Then what’s the plan, geniuses?

  5. One of the things that bugs me when it comes to the budget, the deficit and public debt. Is the misconceptions some have.
While the media is greatly responsible by presenting fiction and opinion in place of fact or truth, it still amazes me how many people have long term memory loss, or simply lack the common sense to relate/link historical events.
I created a post ‘overlooked facts on the Clinton surplus’ http://wp.me/pLGBN-2E
I guess I had read way too many comments from grossly mis-informed commenters.

  6. What a perfectly devastating election spot commercial for Republicans this fall.

  7. Amen! What a peculiar group of people. Do they know, or care, that they’re being taped? Bennett can tell his 10 year that Daddy repeated her remark and his smart mouth cost him his job.

  8. Yeah, unsustainability is a hoot, Democrats. You know, I’m gonna have to go with Rham’s quote on this. Effin Retreads.

  9. Destroyed from within and people laugh about it, including our worst one-term president.

  10. Cloward-Piven. That’s the strategy behind the laughter.

The 2nd American Revolution had better get organized and going – and FAST – before the Islamo-Marxist regime arms itself to the teeth.

  11. Bennet’s daughter had better learn to speak Mandarin.

  12. Oh goody, our Royal Masters are pleased!
Perhaps there will be bread tonight!

  13. As Instapundit says, “The country’s in the best hands.” Here’s more from Instapundit.

“The good news is that, when it comes to reshaping the U.S. mortgage market [any market for that matter — ed.], the Obama administration’s top guns are bringing to bear all of the brisk, rough-’n’-ready entrepreneurial know-how they picked up in their previous careers as university [clueless] professors, nonprofit activists [racketeers], and holders of political sinecures [useless basterds].”

  14. Sounded to me like the guy was telling Obama that even his 10-year old daughter knew that what was going on was wrong. His last comment was that this place looks “broken” to the American people.

As long as “broken” is understood to be pc for “corrupt”, I can see it.

  15. 0bama:

…Ha.. ha, that $12 Trillion in debt will placed on the backs of the Taxpayers and their children…. You know I have been a net tax recipient all of my life – other than the days when I would steal a few twenty’s out of granny’s purse for some pot and coke. I have never been held responsible!

Gad, people are stupid! I don’t know why any person would be tax payer. It’s so much easier to spend other people’s money. I find it quite funny.

My limousine is running and I have an appointment with the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. It’s time I get some fresh cash. Who is to stop me! As they say, catch me if you can! Ha..ha. Good day.

  16. The girl better get ready to pay. Apparently, the IRS is gunning up. I posted this after catching it on the Drudge. Nothing good is going to come out of the IRS getting full of themselves like the ATF did back in the 1990′s.

A nice note from the IRS. They are buying combat shotguns.

Nothing good here. The IRS is purchasing what amounts to (in the eyes of the liberals) assault shotguns. Read the details of the purchase request. As a former police detective I can tell you these shotguns are built for taking down a target, not just for defense. Here are the specifications from the government quote-

“The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) intends to purchase sixty Remington Model 870 Police RAMAC #24587 12 gauge pump-action shotguns for the Criminal Investigation Division. The Remington parkerized shotguns, with fourteen inch barrel, modified choke, Wilson Combat Ghost Ring rear sight and XS4 Contour Bead front sight, Knoxx Reduced Recoil Adjustable Stock, and Speedfeed ribbed black forend, are designated as the only shotguns authorized for IRS duty based on compatibility with IRS existing shotgun inventory, certified armorer and combat training and protocol, maintenance, and parts.”

Exactly who are they going to assault that owes back taxes? Usually, they file suits, have court hearings, garnish wages, etc. Now they are arming themselves with fourteen inch (hey what happened to that eighteen inch rule for legal…. oh never mind) barrel, modified choke with Wilson Combat Ghost rings. Here is a link to a photo of the weapon without the ghost rings.

I don’t have a problem with a law enforcement agency protecting their officers. However, I do remember the last time a democratic administration got in power back in the nineties and how that worked out for a bunch of young children and a mother holding a baby. The problem with getting all amped up over things when you are a police officer or a federal agent is you tend to forget the first rule governing your behavior should be “first do no harm.” The IRS isn’t charged with killing tax evaders. Jail them? Maybe if the offense is bad enough, but assault them with shotguns? Not a good idea. Somewhere someone is gearing up for something. And nothing good is going to come out of it.

I was hoping they learned the lessons from the last time around. Maybe I’m wrong. What happens when a government gets out of control? Read my upcoming book- http://www.revoltthebook.com

  17. Progressive. Yep, very progressive.

Do these clowns even know what “progressive” means?

  18. Will all the jovial democrats still be laughing when they get their a$$es booted out of office this November.

Obama and Congressional democrats think they can manipulate the national mood between now and election time so that they maintain majorities. Wanna bet?

  19. this was obviously an “inside joke” shared among multi-millionaires — all of whom, such as our very own trust-fund baby Bennett, live off their capital-gains dividend income — unless you are “there” – you won’t understand the knee-slappin’ hilarity that ensues from passing the deficit onto future generations. A real rib-buster, that one.

  20. What the Obama Budget Reveals

Obama’s fiscal 2011 budget, totaling $3.834 trillion, provides more than just details about revenues, expenditures, and deficits. It offers the clearest road map yet as to where the president intends to lead America. What that road map reveals is not very reassuring to those who care about limited government.

  21. Sen Bennet, who was appointed by Gov Ritter last year and has already been endorsed by Obama prior to this year’s Democratic primary: this is another reason to vote for anybody but Bennet in November.

BTW, he has raised lots of money, mostly from the right and left coasts. I’m sure he’ll represent Colorado’s interests… not!

  22. Just so you know,
I don’t want to pay it either THAT is why I’m trying to get congress to STOP the irresponsible spending.

  23. Things like Obama’s proposed “freezes” are evidence of the deep contempt he has for the American electorate. No normal adult can listen to anything he says about borrowing or taxation or spending without a sense of the sadist in this man’s schemes. Is there some escape hatch he knows of at the end of the fall whereby all these unfunded promises are magically kept? Barack Hussein Obama is History’s judgement on American Civilization.

  24. Guess when Japan or China forecloses on us, his daughter will just skip out and move to Canada.

  25. I Almost Feel Sorry for Dem Senators

The entire event was scripted, with the Senators keeping away from the health care bill during the televised session. Instead, Senators held back on questions about that most pressing issue until the cameras were turned off, Obama had departed, and the doors were closed

  26. I’m speechless, they are just one big wrecking ball going through this country. Isn’t what Obama is doing an impeachable offense. We need to take back Congress, and get that ball rolling. He needs to be removed, and charged with treason, as well as others.

  27. Bennet is my senator, unfortunately. I’ve been a registered independent for a long time, but I sent emails to both of my senators a couple of months ago saying that, if they voted for the healthcare bill then extant, I’d register as a Democrat just to be able to work against them in the primaries (Colorado has closed primaries). I’ll be a Democrat soon, but I’ll be a DINO.

I’ve written them several times, and never received anything that addresses any of my concerns; they merely reiterate the glowing left-wing gloss on their position.

  28. Message to Democrats and POTUS:

    Tain’t funny, McGee.

    Nope. Not funny at all.

We will remember this come November 2.

  29. Gosh, I think he blurted out the Democrat plan.

  30. President Chin Jut looked like he was having a great time yukking it up with his bros.

  31. I don’t understand the point here. I happen to agree with Caroline, I don’t want to have to pay off that debt either. Bennet’s sharing the story to point out that people are unhappy with Washington’s massive overspending. If he uses humor to get the point across, great, so long as the President gets the point.

The real joke is that the President proposes a budget increase from 3.6 to 3.8 trillion and thinks he’s saving money. He clearly doesn’t get the point.

  32. Jim, this post made me LOL.

  33. The Illinois way….coming to a nation near you.

20,000 Reasons Not to Hire Someone

This is a pretty damning piece on one of the NYT blogs.

…Here’s how it works in Illinois…
…For each business, the state calculates how many dollars have been paid in compensation over the previous three years and adds on about 48 percent through various calculations. The result is that in Illinois, you end up paying for incremental compensation claims at a rate of $1.48 for every dollar that a former employee collects…
