(NOT Suitable for Work)
Your child is learning more on campus these days than you ever would have imagined. Skills that will help your child climb the ladder of success. Skills that will make your child marketable. Don’t worry about the recession. By the time your child graduates from Wash U. in St. Louis, your little darling will know what it takes to succeed. After all, it’s a tough market out there. And, your child will need the necessary skills to get ahead. Right?

The Student Life is the independent newspaper of Washington University in St. Louis since 1878.
The latest edition of this liberal rag discusses “How to give a textbook blow job.”

From the article by Lucy Moore:

So, here goes my knowledge collected from interviewing men and women, and my observations (including those drawn from porn), which I will organize into a list of tips to be used at one’s own discretion. Remember: all men—and their penises—are different. These are not rules. Also, remember, STDs are transmitted from oral sex, too!

So…

1. Always keep the entirety of the shaft of the penis and the head covered with something, mouth or hand. As I find that not everyone is capable of deepthroating manuevers, especially when it comes to a man who is well endowed, I often find it helpful to think of blowjobs as handjob-blowjob combos; keep your left hand on the shaft in rhythm with your mouth over the head and whatever shaft you are able to keep in your mouth.

2. Mix it up, but not too much: Try and balance trying to create a unique experience for your partner (swirling of your tongue over the head, movement of your tongue down the shaft in succession, for example) with consistent rhythm that can maintain and build an orgasm……

Unreal.
So, this is what they’re teaching at liberal universities these days? And, just think, it only costs $39,800 a year.

Hat Tip Ed

UPDATE: This is from the Wash U paper’s comment section

They’re upset that I pointed out their school porn.

UPDATE: John G. added this:

Appealing to people’s instincts requires very little effort and even less intellectual merit. In this case I see that you have succeeded in illustrating your abilities on both accounts. You are clearly following the current trend of contemporary culture in putting forth a mere spectacle as something of merit – which, I promise you, it wasn’t. On top of that, you have also succeeded in devaluing the diploma’s given out by your university. Laugh now, later on it will be an entirely different matter for you. Too bad those who are the custodian’s of your best interests didn’t censor this article realizing the extent to which it will be detrimental to both you and the university.

  3. Wasn’t it Wash U that banned the student group from displaying exhibits on what it was like in a Soviet gulag because it wasn’t appropriate?

And…I guess they put their blessing on this drivel?

  4. Ohhh, how proud her parents must be!!!

  6. College age kids were born in the late 80′s and early 90′s. This is what Bill Clinton’s legacy is.
When these kids were in early elem is when we parents had to explain what oral sex was. This is the group that grew up with a new kind of American value thanks to Billy’s willy.

  7. Her parents raised a fine young slut.

  8. Why can’t I be going to college now?!?!?!?!

  9. Don’t be surprised. It worked for Monica Lewinsky… right?

    Right?

Oh, brother! When are parents going to demand accountability for how moneys are being spent on campus? When?

  10. I bet she voted for Obama.

  11. Term paper on her masters degree but why do they send them to college for this. She would do better out in Nevada managing (or full time employed by) one of Harry’s houses of ill repute.
Or in any major city for that matter. After all it ain’t what you know, it’s who you blow that spells success (no pun intended).

  12. Why did Nancy Pelosi receive a courtesy copy?

  13. Actually, although that is probably not the appropriate forum for that discussion, the advice is actually quite good and I wish more women knew those things :)

  14. Whoring Yourself for Fun and Profit, 101

Lucy wrote this article at 4am on a Friday morning…

I guess she was up all Thursday night perfecting her technique. I’m sure she had no trouble finding volunteers, but I wonder how much rest they got for Friday’s classes…

  15. Okay, where are the instructions for the men to give oral sex to the women? What, it is all about the men? Yes, I know, not the point, but why is it all about the men.

  16. Showing the gulag… bad
Writing how to do the perfect blowjob… good.

So… ah… where’s the “intellectual superiority” of the left wing there?

This is really a very important paper, clearly ah… inspiring and so useful for the things that matter in life and uh… all those significant issues that have to do with your job lateron.

Actually, I think we’ve found another candidate for the important question “Do you want fries with it?” or “Spare some change?”

BTW, am I the only one who think the abbreviation of Washington University in this is somewhat ironic/amusing? Don’t forget to Wash U afterwards.

  17. BTW… if that’s supposed to be a textbook blowjob in her mind… I can only laugh. Rather pitiful. Oh wait, she used porn for it, too. That explains it all.

  18. You gotta get a head these days any way you can . . .

  19. I thought it was a rule in the progressive playbook that they are always supposed to demonstrate how smart they are. So that makes me wonder why she used the colloquial word blowjob when the word fellatio would show her intellectual superiority.

Oh well, opportunity lost for Lucy. I hear next week’s column is “How To Give Yourself An Abortion While Drunk.”

  20. Dividends are already paying off from Obama’s safe school czar.

  21. At least Lucy Moore has something to fall back on when she loses her job. She can always go to work in a whorehouse as a skinflute virtuoso.

  25. “Lips together, teeth apart.”

  26. All that high-priced liberal arts education and turns out it’s just a trade school.

  27. And just how “independent” is this? No student fees?

  28. So this is what being “published” means in the realms of higher education?

  29. High school dances are worse than pathetic now. When ballroom dancing, with structure, a skill set to learn and protocols, was dumped for 1960s free form, all that was necessary was to add the “Flashdance” mainstreaming of strip dancing and we have today not “dancing” but “grinding.” The dancing today is mock sex on the dance floor.

It was adults who made this generation, not the kids themselves. It’s adults who take the pictures, design the thongs for 10 year-olds, write the music, costume the stars, film the videos and movies that promote all this.

Unbelievable failure of one generation’s duty to the next.

  30. “Mastering the Meat Tube” by Lucy the Loon. Do they offer a Doctorate in that?

  31. If I had a kid currently going to Washout U, today would be their last damn day, and I would be in the registrar’s office demanding a refund for my tuition money.

This student paper should be sent to every parent who is footing the bill for a very, VERY expensive education at a university that seems to have really lost its way, not to mention sending it to its alumnii. Wonder how the alumnii, who often support a university with a lot of donations, feel about this?

Nothing like spending over $100K at a university so your kid can major in being a tramp.

  32. pretty disgusting of Lucy Moore and a sad reflection of Wash U’s culture. no class.

  33. Whatta you wanna bet Little Lucy is majoring in “women’s studies”?

  34. I know this isn’t strictly a Catholic blog, but I kinda expect First Things to not have this kind of stuff on it’s website. Links are fine, but, in this case, posting the actual content is a little, I don’t know, just not ok in my book. Sorry. Love you, anyway!

  37. The same writer explores the “age-old question” of what makes a “good” vagina, and then goes on with a comprehensive description of the curvature of penises:

“Beyond novelty, however, is the age-old question—what makes a “good” or “nice” vagina compared to an undesirable one when there is so much variation? Is it similar to what makes a “good” penis, and how so? I’ll start by defining a “good” penis. In my eyes, this penis is one that projects no distinct odors, is not too small but not so big as to stretch the vagina/mouth or puncture the cervix, and has the ability to maintain a stiff erection. Straightness, or lack thereof, is an issue I feel cannot be generalized, because most “curvy” penises, such as our previously mentioned classically arched banana, still maintain some level of straightness when erect and only carry a subtle bend (unless one is suffering from extreme circumstances such as Peyronies disease). But I can imagine that an overly curved penis would be difficult to insert into any orifice; therefore, some level of straightness can be added to our “good” penis criteria. Beyond that, to each his own with penile idiosyncrasies. One with an overly enlarged head might be fun; even that subtle curve could be an interesting experience.”

Me thinks the students of Wash U have WAYYYY too much time on their hands.

  39. Our university’s paper also came under recent fire for this disgusting article (Warning: it is a lot worse!!!):

  40. funny, when I first read the headline I thought it said “how to give a textbook a bl*w job.” Now there’s a picture. Actually, most the textbooks from which I had to teach college classes, would probably have been more useful in that capacity. They weren’t much use for learning anything else.

  41. My daughter is waiting to hear from Wash U. She has a $50,000 scholarship to Dayton, $50,000 to Drexel and $178,000 to the College of Wooster.

She will likely be accepted to Wash U. with a scholarship. She will not attend. Period.

Thank you Jim. You’ve helped make our decision much easier.

  42. Well, there aren’t any more phone booths to stuff…

  43. This would be requirement course learning for Liberals studying for a Political Science Major. Professor Monica Lewinsky would be teaching this class.
This is only shocking to Conservatives because they strive (not always successful) to have ethics and morals…..this should not shock Liberals, they have never claimed to have ethics or morals.
So, while tuition fees are going up and up, to accomidate high six figure professor wages, this is the best she can write about?

  44. I wonder if Lucy Moore understands that, for the rest of her life, any time that a possible employer or a new boyfriend Googles her name… this article will show up.

  45. Professor Kevin Jennings would be proud!

  46. Truth be told, that’s just an independent newspaper, so it’s not even affiliated with the University, so it’s not as if the university itself is promoting this.

Certainly it’s a stupid article, but stupid articles come from all forms of media, so this isn’t really related to the university.

  47. Chinese businessmen visiting the future America will need BJ’s and other sex too seeing that there won’t be enough women in China.

BJ’s may be the only career open to these students in the post-prosperity America that Obama is bringing.

  48. This article is good career advice for some of our less talented girlies. Many of them find that it helps to go down to make a career go up. Or to get that closet filled with expensive clothes. There are plenty of Clintonian bosses out there, and there are just as many sluts willing to serve and service them.

That article should also receive the official endorsement of the NFL and NBA.

  49. Washington University needs a “sex columnist” for their college? Why not make some more money and start a 900 number for college students who aren’t on the recieving end of Lucy Moore’s advice? lol

  50. Jeez. I’m not even sure how to joke about this without being called out for being disgusting. :-/

  51. Joanne has a point.

  52. At least they are learning something.

  53. They’re obviously not teaching them the difference between “addition” and “edition”, either.

  54. I hope this article make her completely unemployable for the rest of her life.

  55. Lucy Moore is a typical shill for the liberal curriculum. Evidence suggests she could not write a scientific paper if her life counted upon it.

I wonder if Lucy Moore understands that, for the rest of her life, any time that a possible employer or a new boyfriend Googles her name… this article will show up.
    *************************************************

Somehow, I doubt that it did. Lil Lucy was just too busy bein’ edgy ‘n’ all, dontcha know.

  59. Little Lucy is not too smart, is she? That expensive Wash. U. education won’t get her a job in the real world where DECENCY and INTEGRITY really matter. She will have to work for a pathetic lib rag newspaper if there is one still around. Aren’t they all circling the drain as we blog?

  60. There was a time when Wash. U. was a top twenty school.

  61. Oral Sex…. Anal sex would have made a better choice considering how the Dems are trying to screw us over

  62. This is a Catholic blog?

  63. Looks like Lucy Moore may have been molested by her dad. Maybe this is her way of getting back at him.

  64. IWanumba said..“t was adults who made this generation, not the kids themselves. It’s adults who take the pictures, design the thongs for 10 year-olds, write the music, costume the stars, film the videos and movies that promote all this.

Unbelievable failure of one generation’s duty to the next.
That is exactly right, Wanumba. This generation is reaping what the one before us sowed,

  65. Luke 17:26.

  66. Well at least she’s accurate. It could have been a paper on the same subject but with bad info…

  67. hey crystal!

The depravity – that’s the ONLY word for it – is stunning – for the speed of its advancement. In my lifetime, growing up was very innocent. Society was more careful to protect children during their formative years – on TV, in movies, in school. But the last twenty and especially the last ten years has been close to a total collapse of not only dignity but of adult responsibility for forming the next generation.

Girls are being taught by popular culture to completely degrade themselves, and boys are not being taught to protect, but to take advantage of girls. Biggest losers: used and diseased girls. inability to create family units due to emotional deadening. non-raised children.

an aside. Washington U has a big engineering school – popular choice for foreign students – Getting quite the skewed view of American women thanks to a woman who is no more than a shrine prostitute.

  68. Another highly educated superior person weighs in:

“In another addition of “friends don’t let friends become Republicans…”

    addition?

With all the focus on oral sex in schools, current academics are in as bad a decline as the morals.

  69. You know, not everyone is god-fearing, or even conservative for that matter. Many of the current college generation feel that there is too much sexual repression in the United States. In Europe many people start sexual activity at a much younger average age (15 in Sweden I think it was; don’t quote me). This country has a ridiculous fear of sex and quite frankly its sickening to hear you all say this about a person whom you all don’t even know. Some find her articles very helpful, but they are also meant to be amusing to the more open-minded students at Wash U.

Also, college has always been a time for sexual exploration seeing as most people are in their sexual prime in their late teens and early 20′s. This has been so since my mother’s time (late 70′s) and my father’s time (60′s). While its true that some men take advantage of women, some have very healthy sexual (pre-marital oh no!) relationships with their partners. Most non-religious affiliated universities (including Wash U) have progressive views on this with education programs on how to avoid unwanted std’s and pregnancies as well as passing out free condoms. As a Wash U student myself I know this.

As far as what the university teaches, it is an extremely difficult curriculum that includes extremely renowned medical and pre-med programs, as well as engineering, art, architecture, business, and yes, women’s studies and sexual studies courses. I have never met people that were so hard working and motivated to succeed as students at Wash U. Before you start bashing the university and assuming that it is teaching this kind of stuff in its curriculum, you might want to do some research so you don’t sound like you’re talking out of your collective rear-ends.

PS-it doesn’t matter if you can’t write a scientific paper if you aren’t majoring in a science field. I can’t write a scientific paper, but then again I am an international area studies major.

    Peace

  70. PPS-Many of the international students party even harder than the ones from the U.S. So whoever said that international students are getting a skewed look at American women doesn’t really know what they are talking about.

  71. zephyr, You want to be like Europe? Then move to Europe.

Sorry to burst your bubble but the majority of Americans identify themselves as conservative and believe this kind of thing is trash. There is a reason we are and will always be better than Europe. That is of course until Chairman Obama destroys us first….which is his ultimate goal.

  72. My first, Neanderthal, reaction was “Where was she when I was in college?”

My second, frat house, “Someone is desperate to get a date.”

My third “This stupid little tramp has just stigmatized herself for all time in a foolish bid to be ‘cool.’ I can see an identity change in her future.”

Well, she certainly will have no trouble with number two and as someone noted above, even with current search engines, this will remain part of her resume for the rest of her days. Undoubtedly a liberal . . . no other group is so utterly devoid of common sense.

  73. You, of course, are entitled to your opinion, as am I.

I would have to agree with you that Obama’s screwing up the US. he (or the one’s behind him) are killing democracy and forcing the country towards socialism (as demonstrated when they allowed any multi-national corporation to spend however much they want on a political candidate of their choice). In which case I may very well leave.

The majority of the country is republican, I’ll give you that, but that doesn’t mean that everyone that calls themselves a conservative agrees with the views you all present here. I have met many who vote republican that are pro choice, engage in pre-marital sex, pro-legalization of marijuana (including some religious groups), etc. I also know several Christian people who themselves will not engage in sex until marriage, but fully support, and do not judge, others if they choose to have sex. Most Americans fall into a gray zone when it comes to being conservative or liberal.

I’m also not saying we should become like Europe, and start having sex at 15 (too young, people usually aren’t physically developed enough for sexual activity at that age), but I feel that a more progressive view towards sex (such as those in Europe), and sex education is far more healthy than shielding children from it completely until their in a situation where their body’s naturally react to the opposite gender, and they don’t understand what is going on. Also, sex is a fact of life, it’s how we reproduce, it’s pleasurable.

What criteria do you use when you say America is better than Europe? I don’t believe that there is any one country that is better that any other really (minus the middle east and communist powers). All countries have things they do far better, government-wise, than others, and things they screw up (eg. Obama). If you have ever traveled over-seas you should know that there is plenty that can be learned from other peoples in this world. And if we are better than Europe, how come we have more poverty, illiteracy, and overall discontent than many (not all) countries in Europe. In general we do pretty darn good for ourselves, but we are definitely not number one.

As it is, the point of my previous post was not to discuss what country was the best. I agree that modern dress constantly advertised is a little too trashy, and the 10 year old thong thing and random child beauty pageants are messed up. However, when it comes to sex in movies, it is much more censored these days than it used to be. Example’s include A Clockwork Orange (1971) that frequently shows full frontal nudity and essentially softcore porn; as does Risky Business (1983).

Your response makes me wonder if you even read all of my post. If you really want to convince those of differing view points instead of just reaffirming the beliefs of those who think similarly to you, you should use more evidence than “There is a reason we are and will always be better than Europe”. What is this reason? Prove it with facts; not opinion.

One thing that does make this country great is our 1st amendment right to free speech. Lucy Moore can write what ever she would like, and you can respond however you would like. But the majority of the assumptions you make about her and Wash U are completely baseless. If you don’t want to read about this kind of stuff, don’t read it. If you want to shield your kids from it, don’t try and force the stuff off the air, it’s not your place to do that (1st amendment right). Instead don’t let your kids watch the stuff. In my view, my parents (conservatives) did very well in raising me to respect others beliefs and differences and not be overly judgmental of others. They respect my position and life choices even if they don’t agree with it. You all lack this capacity to show respect to others IMO.

  74. In summary: None of you know what you’re talking about.

  75. This campus newspaper is typical of what many student newspapers look like. Conservative students don’t have a journalism department vehicle to counter the liberal dogma. I think we should see this as an example of the faculty bias that exists across the country throughout the education system.

  76. Clinton just called to scheduled Wash U to schedule a speech on campus. Im guessing she will then be interviewing for a job. Im sure she will be the perfect intern! Lets be honest this was all about grabbing attention so she can get noticed for her courage in doing anything for the job and how far down she can go. Now look for her sexual harrassment suit coming in the near future. Her future recipients also now have grounds for a lawsuit if she is not up to textbook standards. Oh and if she ever blesses the world with her offspring her kids will be so proud of mom. I bet all the neighborhood kids will be coming over for BJ training.

  77. zephyr: ‘none of you know what you’re talking about.”

Oh really? Are you a happy, healthy person with your progressive views? You certainly sound bitter, and I would hazard to guess you’ve had more than your fair share of bumps and rejections.

Furthermore, you don’t have any right to tell anyone how to live their lives or think your thoughts. Each American is entitled to their own opinions, and no one is required to agree with you or buy what you’re selling.

So, stop with the condescending attitude on those who feel like their parents, and their parents’ parents did a damn good job and want to do the same for their children. You progressives think you have all the answers, and anyone that would dare disagree with you must be nuts. Nothing has changed in this world, it’s just that the progressive agnostics have gotten louder and more obnoxious. The same Godly morals still work in this country as they did 200 years ago.

From where I sit, you have played yourself for the fool for summarizing your well-thought out opinion with a slap at those who would disagree. I disagree with your views. The problem with you progressives is that you just can’t help shooting yourselves in the foot.

Fortunately, that works out for all of us.

  78. I guess if you want a good high school education these days you need to go to Wash U.

Zephyr, stop talking about Europe as if it was one united thing. It’s not. Austrian laws are different from Italian laws, which are different from Spanish laws.

Austria, for example, is quite well economically. Greece, also Europe and EU member, is a dump.

“I’m also not saying we should become like Europe, and start having sex at 15.”
    That depends on the country.

“but I feel that a more progressive view towards sex (such as those in Europe)”
Which European country are you talking about? And do you even realize that there is a growing number of conservatives and right wing movements in many European countries moving against those leftist ideas?

“If you have ever traveled over-seas you should know that there is plenty that can be learned from other peoples in this world.”
Yeah, often how not to do it.

“And if we are better than Europe, how come we have more poverty, illiteracy, and overall discontent than many (not all) countries in Europe.”
Been to Greece lately? To Germany? To the UK? To Scandinavia? To France? Seen the recent riots there? In Berlin more than 300 cars were burned by left wing terrorists just last year. France has regular riots. Greece is a dump.

The US has more overall discontent than Europe?

    Are you f*****g drunk?

Oh wait… you come to Europe as TOURIST! That’s it!

Tourists should simply shut up. No really. You come here for a week or two, see the good sides, but you never stay long enough to see how things really are.

“What criteria do you use when you say America is better than Europe?”
Simple. I live in a European country. I’ve visited most of the other countries throughout the years. And I’ve seen how Europe is being turned into a dump by the leftists.

Just take our rising crime rates, which, by now, have topped the US. The Top Nine countries with the highest number of violent crimes per 100,000 inhabitants are all European. The only non-European country in the Top Ten of that list is South Africa.

Berlin has the murder rate of New York these days.

The European peoples are angry. The EU is pissing on us, our own politicians are selling us out to the EU. There is a lot of unrest on this continent and if things continue the way they are now… there will be war in Europe. It’s a powderkeg just waiting to explode.

  80. Yes, Zephyr, because you progressives have done such a bang-up job so far! Teen pregnancy, astronomical rates of child abuse, broken homes, the porn explosion, kids being raised in step-families that don’t really care about them, or by mom’s boyfriend(s), or dad’s live-in main squeeze, and it’s all resulted in so much human happiness, hasn’t it?

    (okay, sarc. off.)

As for Europe, Zephyr, you obviously haven’t been following what’s been going on over there lately. As for the First Amendment, no one’s saying the author should be fined or imprisoned, for writing what she did. We are saying that what she wrote is trash. We’re exercising our freedom of speech, hon. They’re not really teaching you very well at Wash U, are they?

Oh, yeah, and the “peace” salutation is a hoot, considering your hostility to America, Republicans and a host of other things.

  81. Wanumba, sadly, as the 60′s-70′s should have taught us, the slippery slope is slippery indeed. Once you start down it, you just keep picking up more and more momentum. Once things start going bad, they get worse, and worse, very quickly.

  82. And, yes, Zephyr, Europe is now so sexually tolerant and enlightened, that they don’t have families anymore. They aren’t reproducing enough to keep their own populations, and their nanny states, going. They’re importing immigrants to do the work their kids would have done—but this creates its own problems, as witness the riots in the French banliues, and Moslem violence in places like Amsterdam, and Great Britain. Call me Neanderthal, bigoted, whatever, but it’s not a model I think the US should follow.

  83. Wanumba, speaking of the decline in academics—did you notice how misspelled and downright sloppily written many of the comments supporting the author were? These kids are not getting an education! Just porn, and spectacle, and ego-stoking. “You’re reading an article about oral sex, gawd, you’re so sophisticated!”

  84. What a complete lack of intelligence to actually want that following their professional career. (unless porn is their goal, I suppose)

  85. Lucy Moore. Gee, I wonder how she managed to get such great grades from all her male Professors?

It’s not just talking about BJ’s, this girl is giving them to her teachers in order to fecieve a passing grade. She would be booted out otherwise.

What liberal colleges are churning out: Hookers, whores, porn actors cuz they are to dumb to get any other job

  86. Let’s all remember to be charitable. We’re talking about actual people so, rather than adding filth on top of filth, let’s say things that are constructive.

  87. My fellow citizens, she was only exercising her right to free speech. And since it was in line with the party no permit is required!

*- offer excludes libertarians, tea party members, christians and anyone that has not had their daily flouride.

  88. Mike, LOL! Yes, all who not in line with the party, please shut up!

  89. Lucy didn’t do the homework, didn’t know the subject and failed all of her tests. However, she did deserve the “A” I gave her by demonstrating her knowledge and skill of hummers, performing one after hours in my office.

Not the best BJ I have gotten from a student in exchange for a passing grade, but still a bj

  90. Thank you for actually backing your arguments. I rescind the statement that you don’t know what your talking about (which i only said because no one was backing any of their arguments, just resorting to insults). Not once did I say that I’m telling you how to live your lives. Just stating my opinion. It is common sense that if you don’t want to hear about, or don’t want your kids to see it, don’t read it. Also, child abuse, teen pregnancy, and broken homes aren’t restricted to liberals and progressives. And those of you that think so should read this.
    http://www.surfinthespirit.com/home/violence.html

It’s presumptuous to assume that I am going to foreign countries as a tourist. I studied abroad for a year in asia as a condition of being an international area studies major. Admittedly, I’m no authority on Europe. Most of what I hear comes from European friends that are more than happy to talk about the state of their country with me.

I’m pretty sure I wrote that many, but not all, European countries have less discontent than the US. http://images.businessweek.com/ss/06/10/happiest_countries/index_01.htm?chan=rss_topSlideShows_ssi_5 I know that Europe is not one united entity. I’m sorry if I didn’t take the time to list out specific countries. All countries have (very many) problems. Besides, many, many places in the U.S. have riots, violence, and are complete dumps. Methamphetamine is extremely prevalent in the southern United States, in places inhabited by mostly conservatives. Ashland (I think, could be a different city), Alabama is considered meth mountain. And the U.S. isn’t bringing in immigrants to do much of the work that our children could be doing? Not to mention that, yes in the history of the U.S. a christian based society has thrived (one that at one point believed in slavery of other human beings).

If you’ve read through my previous posts, you’d know that I am not trying to stop you from saying anything (despite much of it being as vulgar and insulting to peoples sensibilities as the BJ article. My favorite so far has been “Mastering the meat tube”). I am simply disagreeing and explaining why.

I still maintain that none of you have proven you know what your talking about when it comes to Wash U. According to the U.S. news and world report it is the 12th ranked university in the nation. Liberal arts does not have anything to do with politics. It means that there is a wide range of disciplines that students have the opportunity to study (outside of the business, engineering, arts & architecture, and music schools. The majors available are listed right on the web site. http://www.wustl.edu. As it is, studlife is independent from the university itself.

As a matter of fact, I am happy, and healthy; and dealing with bumps and rejections is a part of life. You must be a perfect person if you’ve never had to deal with setbacks in your life. As for being bitter; I am a little bitter that Obama is taking this country in a bad direction, but I am no means bitter towards any of you. I simply enjoy debate. I am learning from those that reply to my posts with well thought out posts of their own (but all the insults and assumptions are completely empty and tempt me to reply in kind).

You don’t like when I say, “none of you know what your talking about”, so why do you lower yourself to my level by being sarcastic and condescending towards me if you’re beliefs are truly better. And the point of reading an article about blow-jobs isn’t to be sophisticated, its to amuse myself and reduce some of the stress from all the readings and essays I have to complete for my major. Actually this is helping me to de-stress as well. I’m having a good time.

PS-thank you mike and alphonsus. Harry Kovaire; do my posts come across as me having only a high school education? I will try and work on that just for you.

  91. Prof. Smith, Mathematician-You’re funny; I was wondering if someone would do this kind of thing

(Prof. Leslie Smith-Moreland of the math department is a woman btw)

  92. Tonka22 how do you know what Lucy’s grades are?

  93. Actually, Zephyr, you’re telling us more about Washington U, and your rather unimpressive education, than I think you actually intend to.

You sound more than just a little bit bitter, and you you push the usual liberal meme, United-States-home-of-slavery & all-evil, Europe great—though you admit that you really don’t know all that much about Europe; just what your European friends tell you about it (there’s an unbiased source for ya!)

Progress attacks against traditional marriage, and it’s pushing the sexual revolution, are responsible for much of the family chaos and break down in relationships between men and women today. The fact that this chaos also affects some supposedly conservative areas doesn’t change this.

As for meth, wasn’t it the supposedly bold young radicals of the 60′s who encouraged everybody to “Turn on, tune in, drop out?” Yes, we always had problems with drugs, but it’s the progressives who made it trendy, and mainstreamed it.

  94. Whatever man, you don’t have to believe what I say. Either way you don’t actually know why I’m writing on this website.

Also, those who participated in the counter-culture were liberals, but that doesn’t even remotely mean that all liberals were part of the counter culture.

I don’t align myself with any political party. I would just as readily debate with the radical left as with the radical right (you guys).

It is never the case where only one side of the spectrum is to blame for all the problems. Case in point: Clinton and his oral sex thing with Lewinsky, Reagan and his Watergate scandalf.

  95. Wow, you bash me by saying I think America is evil even when I’m agreeing with you about Obama. Makes sense. And yeah, it’s because of the counter-culture that drugs became trendy.

I don’t think Europe is better than the U.S. I just think some countries in Europe do some things better. I think some countries in Asia do some things better. America does some things better than every one else. As for my European friends, they are honest and complain plenty about the crap that’s going on with the EU. For the most part the people that idolize countries have never even been to them.

You see, most people would concede that I make plenty of valid points. You all will never accept it so no actual debate can take place. So I see the only thing I’m doing is annoying you all even more. Believe me I’m not in the slightest upset by any of what you say. I am disappointed that only a couple people actually argued against me with more than just baseless insults and accusations. Not even one of you wants to have an intellectual debate?

Most of you seem to be as blinded by hyper-conservatism as the far left is by hyper-liberalism in my opinion.

Again, you don’t back your claims. In fact you make claims about me, and Washington University, and Lucy Moore that you can’t back. In fact, the newspaper itself doesn’t take political sides with anyone, it’s concerned solely with whats going on in the university and with its students. Lucy Moore gets more fan mail from students than anyone else who writes for Student Life. She also gets more hate mail from students than anyone else.

I didn’t even know that was a liberal meme. It’s ridiculous to say the United States was the home of all slavery. Slavery has existed nearly as long as humans have and still exists today.

No one can stop change. It happens. It doesn’t stop happening. Just take a look at the past 10 or 20 years. You can serve to slow it and the other side can serve to speed it up. This isn’t going to be the same place in 100 or even 50 years that it is now. Neither you nor I know what it’s going to be like.

Also, those that have power lose it eventually. No great society in history has been able to maintain its power forever. Look at Greece, the Roman Empire, the Mongol Empire, France, the list goes on. So even if the U.S. becomes what you want it to be, it probably won’t maintain the status as the number one super power in the world.

  96. And how impressive was your education?

  97. Ok, if you are actually going to try and hurt this individual by spreading this further and trying to get more people against her than I will shut up.

That is just not a morally right thing to do.

  98. Again, everbody, let’s keep it classy.

  99. Naive student, she thinks she knows everything.

On a subject like this you never listen to a woman’s assumptions; she needs to go straight to the source, and ask the men how to do it right.

That’s why she failed. But there’s always summer school.

  100. I think it’s useful to consider that Student Life is an independent student newspaper, and it in no way reflects on the values, aims or educational quality of the school. This isolated column does not reflect “liberal indoctrination” or some lascivious intentions on the part of WashU.

The student body is moderately liberal, and mostly political apathetic, which is in line with most other peer universities. I don’t think you can extrapolate wild generalizations about the WashU student body from a single column in a newspaper that doesn’t receive any university funding. Rather than the column representing a student body that is supposedly too radical for middle America, it really just is the interest of Lucy.

Please, people. The posts ranting, “I’m not sending my son/daughter to Washu now!” are out of step with reality. WashU academics are renowned, especially in sciences, and students here are way more concerned with getting high-paying jobs or getting in to top-ranked medical/law/graduate schools than with the petty cultural wars.

  101. As someone reading these posts who is not affiliated with this conservative blog, I am personally shocked and appalled that there are so many assuming, judgmental individuals out there that are so quick to jump to conclusions about Washington University and Lucy Moore simply because of this article.

I would like to thank poster #75 for a line of reason in all of this absurdity, but most of these posts are extremely disturbing. How would you (who I am assuming are mostly conservative Catholics from the midwest) feel if I and my liberal-arts educated intellectual friends from big cities were to completely pigeonhole and stereotype all midwestern Catholics as being one way after reading ONE article that we disagreed with? Probably pretty frustrated. Furthermore, I don’t know that you are all Catholic midwesterners, but i’m labeling everyone posting here as such- must be a bit angering, no?

Your responses talk about how low class THIS article is, but what about YOU people who have nothing else better to do than degrade someone you know nothing about, making completely false and unjustified assumptions. I am very closely aquatinted with Lucy Moore and can state, as fact, that Lucy has not been “molested by her dad” (is someone projecting, perhaps?) nor does she think she “knows everything” or CLAIM to! She is simply the writer of an entertaining column that appeals to college students (ACROSS THE COUNTRY, likely to some of your dismay) and serves as a refreshing break from the heavily academic news articles written in the school’s paper. In fact, Lucy Moore happens to be an extremely intelligent, kind, open-minded and insightful young woman. She is a talented writer who has been published in both the academic and literary community. She happens to also be spunky, quirky, and unique- able to talk openly and honestly about topics that most people repress their entire lives, which any modern psychologist would agree can only lead to unhappy, unfulfilled lives, marriages, and relationships, and potentially to divorce or even suicide in extreme cases.

I think it is wonderful that a world-renowned institution such as Washington University has the ability to keep up its academic rigor and stay in touch with the personal needs of its students by providing a forum for students to express themselves at the same time. Lucy’s column is extremely popular both on campus and in the greater community, receiving rave reviews from top sex researchers and writers from all over the country. Maybe you should check out a few more of her articles- they are witty and clever while maintaining a strong foundation backed by thorough research. Lucy wants to be a sex columnist, so as for this article and her career- it seems to only be helping. And disregarding the fact that there are hundreds of Lucy Moores out there and Google searching the name might only lead to confusion, Lucy is NOT naive and is comfortable with who she is and would not want to hide this from any new boyfriend OR employer. This is who she is. This is her job.

And as for poster #41- First off, you are assuming that your child is going to get into Wash U and WITH a SCHOLARSHIP! Ha! Dayton, Drexel, and Wooster are not NEARLY in the same category as Wash U (you can look it up online at the US News & World Report: http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges). This year there are 25,000 applicants for an entering class of less than 1,500 students, so good luck with that! And I hope that your daughter enjoys Drexell or any of those other schools, where she is going to undoubtedly meet the same liberal-minded students, though half as intelligent. Are you really going to decide your child’s future based on some liberal example that you could find ANYWHERE in the nation if you wanted to open your eyes and look? Just food for thought. You really might want to do some more research on these schools before you make such short-sighted assumptions.

Lucy Moore, unlike these “whores” and “sluts” you speak of, is actually a beautiful, confident and talented young woman (she is a freelance photographer and a poet, and is not a “women’s studies” major but a History major, minoring in Writing and Photography). I look forward to her publications in New York Magazine and the Times Digest where she will likely have a column in the near future, though I would imagine you would also say the same things about the New York Times as you would about Wash U’s Student Life Newspaper.

Lucy’s ability to be in touch with her sexuality has lead her to extremely satisfying, intimate, and deep relationships with young men who are worthy of her personage. I am sorry that you spend your lives repressing primal desires that any psychologist would tell you are natural and normal to explore. I mean, let’s get real Catholics, since when has the rhythm method ever worked for birth control? And if liberals didn’t exist, well, slavery in the US still might. Although perhaps you would not be unhappy about this. But that is just me making the same unfair and unjustified assumptions as you are. So I retract my former statement, saying it only to make a necessary point.

Let’s face it, ladies and gentlemen, well behaved women (and men) rarely ever make history…

  102. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

You who accuse this college student of being a whore, remember that Jesus embraced Mary Magdalene as a holy woman, when the hecklers and the sinners like you would have stoned her. You commenters would be the first to recrucify the Christ, you cowards who relish in reading this sex column and then hatefully insult its author. You may not post your real names, but God knows them, and He will judge you by what you speak.

  103. And to think that Washington University is considered a top institution! Oh the monstrosity that these are the students who graduate with well-paying jobs and go top level graduate schools. Oh and even worse, many of these students become doctors, that’s right DOCTORS! They will touch God’s children with their dirty deviant hands and damn them all to hell.

And even worse, they actually go to school with other students DIFFERENT than they are…oh these are not the days of small schools in the country where God was taught in a small classroom of straight white males. They take pride in this “diversity” as they do such articles.
Their parents must be REALLY proud of what their children are accomplishing with their books, degrees, and intellect to change the world (can you imagine…a world full of these college graduates?!) What are my hard-earned taxes really going to? Oh this is a disgrace, these students need to see speakers like Karl Rove, or better yet, see Joseph Biden get taken aback by the wise words of Sarah Palin. Someone must save these students!

  104. For the parent who said that he/she would not send his/her daughter to Wash U… I agree with the poster #103 in that Wash U is a much more competitive school than any of the others that the parent listed. I am not a Wash U student, but I can tell you that this column is not a radical idea. Most top liberal arts universities have them. For example, the Columbia Daily Spectator (Columbia University), the Tufts Daily (Tufts University)… http://www.ivygateblog.com/2006/10/sex-column-report-card/

Do parents really expect that their 22-year-old sons and daughters are not engaging in oral sex? That is ridiculous. Students are old enough to make these decisions AND talk about them frankly and without judgement from people like you all. I applaud Lucy for writing this article (and particularly for mentioning the risks associated with oral sex in the first few lines).

  105. TIME magazine (http://www.time.com/time/printout/0,8816,1818197,00.html) refers to the Song of Solomon 2:3, “As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.” This is clear evidence that God approves of and encourages oral sex.

  106. Well, it’s a good thing that nobody here belongs to any religion that would warn against casting stones, huh? No no! Be as judgmental as you like! It’s not like Jesus preached love and understanding or anything, so y’all should be just fine.
