Sarah Palin slammed “Family Guy” today for attacking her son, Trig.
Sarah Palin responded to the attack this week on FOX’s Family Guy on her baby Trig Palin.
From her Facebook page:
People are asking me to comment on yesterday’s Fox show that felt like another kick in the gut. Bristol was one who asked what I thought of the show that mocked her baby brother, Trig (and/or others with special needs), in an episode yesterday. Instead of answering, I asked her what she thought. Here is her conscientious reply, which is a much more restrained and gracious statement than I want to make about an issue that begs the question, “when is enough, enough?”:
“When you’re the son or daughter of a public figure, you have to develop thick skin. My siblings and I all have that, but insults directed at our youngest brother hurt too much for us to remain silent. People with special needs face challenges that many of us will never confront, and yet they are some of the kindest and most loving people you’ll ever meet. Their lives are difficult enough as it is, so why would anyone want to make their lives more difficult by mocking them? As a culture, shouldn’t we be more compassionate to innocent people – especially those who are less fortunate? Shouldn’t we be willing to say that some things just are not funny? Are there any limits to what some people will do or say in regards to my little brother or others in the special needs community? If the writers of a particularly pathetic cartoon show thought they were being clever in mocking my brother and my family yesterday, they failed. All they proved is that they’re heartless jerks. – Bristol Palin”

When is the Family Guy show going to do an episode on Michelle Obama fisting her children as her Husban nationally supports this program?
GregInSeattle commented:
Turns out some of the Libs aren’t as loving and tolerant as advertised. Big surprise.
Major Kong commented:
Amen, Bristol. And I would bet everyone of these “writers” would consider themselves to be cutting edge progressives. Jerks is a much more succinct way of stating that, though. Class will always tell.
P. Aaron commented:
Family Guy sucks.
Sarge commented:
Sadly, heartless jerkery is meat and potatoes to the media industry, and blood and flesh to the adolescent subculture – - as I’m sure Bristol is all too aware, considering how recently she exited high school.

Mocking and picking on someone for something completely out of their control is unjustifiable and despicable.

Corporal Vere commented:
Do the writers of that crapola show think insulting poor, handicapped babies is entertaining?
Will they now write an episode making fun the proffitt muhammad, paroxysm be upon him?
Dave commented:
A pathetic, sick, and twisted attempt at humor – at the expense of a private citizen and defenseless child –
anybody got a link to the producers of the show where we might email to express our disgust with this??
Major Kong commented:
Sadly, nothing would make them happier than to know how disgusted we are with them. They are twisted.

What a great time for that “show” to be cancelled!
Caroline Kennedy can’t speak a complete sentence without three “ummmms”, four “likes” and two “ahhhhs”, but you don’t see any programs mocking her.
And this is an INFANT!
I’m thinking they haven’t heard the last of this.

I’ll have to respectfully disagree with you on that one. Ignoring the problem has gone on far too long and that’s exactly what inspires sick minds to boldly go beyond.
It’s long past time to speak out against any and all such “entertainment”. Yes, it’s covered by Freedom of Speech, but we also have the choice to reject it outright by boycotting sponsors and filing decency complaints with the stations/networks that air such filth. THAT is our Right and we should exercise it.
If that “entertainment” directly involved your Mother, Wife or child, you’d probably be singing a different tune.

I am always amazed at the idiocy of the brilliant people in this world that produce trash on the screen supposedly for entertainment. Fox’s “Family Guy” show should be isolated and ignored. In my opinion the people responsible for this show should be out looking for a job. I see things like this and it makes me wonder if those responsible have family that they would like to have other people make fun of them. Maybe they are just plain ignorant and without a conscious.
Andreas K. commented:
I’ve never watched Family Guy. It’s been running here for a while, but the whole concept totally put me off. I saw one half of an episode and it just wasn’t funny or even remotely interesting at all.
And I think the drawing style is crap.
Robert commented:
Fox is somewhat favorable on the news but a lot of
their entertainment programming is awful.
I don’t watch it.
wanumba commented:
Good job, Bristol!
When the media was going disgusting after Palin and her daughters, all it would have taken was ONE SENTENCE from FIRST LADY Michelle Obama: “Leave the Palin kids alone.” and the hyena pack media would have DUTIFULLY shut up. The Obamas have said nothing – their kids are off limits, but no one else’s are. They concur with their silence, and by that show how classless and mean-spirited they really are.
JaneS commented:

Liberals don’t have a great understanding of special needs kids and the difficulties we, as parents, face raising them. Largely because liberals abort them all so that that extra chromosome doesn’t ruin the perfect family portrait.

Agreed. Does anyone watch that excuse for a show? I do, however, think we should protest this uncalled for attack. I would like to hear Michelle and the One come out to say something in this regard, but I won’t hold my breath.

Now they are going after a child with Downs. What a bunch of losers!

Bristol Palin is like her mother an intelligent female. I look forward to hearing from her in the future. As for the program, I do not watch TV and programs such as this are the reason. If no one watches it it will die a natural death. Or boycott the sponsors, money talks.

I’ve never watched Family Guy.
Same here. Have seen parts of episodes while scrambling for the remote control and never found any of them to be at all funny. And I actually like irreverant humor, such as South Park.
Family Guy is to animated sitcoms what Howard Stern is to talk radio. I don’t care for either of them.

This is nothing new. During the Presidential campaign, they had a time-travel show during which one character found a McCain-Palin button on his SS uniform. Hilarious, right?

The creators of this show were asked once if any idea was ever to over the top to put on TV. They had come up with a story line where JFK would be turned into a PEZ dispenser. Nice image right? These guys have no shame what so ever. The Palin slam shouldn’t surprise anyone.

That why Palin won’t get the nominee or run for President in 2012. It is these liberal medias are still continue to attack Palin and it won’t go away. If she is the President for example it would be the same thing they are continue attack her. It is going to be a waste of time when they can’t get the job done for our country. It is the Democratic Party and the liberal mainstream news media’s fault.

Ah Daleboy, you’re looking at this completely backwards!
Recall that the bumbling incompetent that currently occupies the White House was billed as a phenomenon throughout the primaries. The adulation, and the trumpeting of his impending historic, unprecedented, landslide victory continued through the election campaign.
Sarah Palin only entered the equation at the beginning of September 2008.
In the 2008 election, she was on the national political stage for only two months, during which she was vilified, demonized, and incessantly mocked.
After a full year of glowing media adulation of The One, during which we learned almost everything which might be disparaging about Joe the Plumber, and about Sarah Palin, but nothing of substantial fact about Barack Obama, Barack Hussein Obama did win the election.
But he and his first executive decision ever, Joe Biden, won with 52.9% of the popular vote.
69,456,897 to 59,934,814, a mere 10 million votes apart.
Hardly a landslide victory.
Sarah Palin didn’t cost us “morons” the election, she took your one’s landslide away from him.
She smacked him down, and she did it with one arm tied behind her back, to the anguished taunts and jeers of his tingly legged minions.
How’s uh, uh, uh, that Harvard, uh, uh, uh, degree working for you, mmm, mmm, mmm?

I am the parent of a disabled child and I found this portion of Family Guy absolutely refreshing, and empowering. Total smack-down. And I avoid FG like the plague. I guess you have to be there. Most of the negative comments I read seem to be from folks who have some overbearing sense of ‘shame’ in regard to the disabled. I don’t sense that they live with the disabled, are disabled or know many disabled people or children. Many who liked this seem to be from ‘special needs’ families. We all know the healing power of laughter, second only to prayer. Now, as regards Emmanuel or Limbaugh or Beck or Coulter, for whom the word ‘retard’ appears to be a regular feature in their lexicon, that’s something else entirely.

“empowering”.. and if your a parent of a mentally handicapped child,

Actually, bg, the disabilities my child had were more challenging than DS (he’s now an adult). But, as a result, we know a whole lot of special needs folks, kids and adults, and I have some adult DS friends from church. Again, all I can say is that I found that portion of the show quite funny, in a twisty way, and empowering to the character. You do know that the actress voice behind the character has DS herself, don’t you?

Forgive me if this comment is a bit off topic, but I feel that the widespread ridiculing of Sarah Palin and her family has gone way too far, and particularly in the instance of one very grotesque and obscene individual. This individual goes by the AOL screen name of lilTrigPalin and e-mail address liltrigpalin@aol.com in an attempt to mock and belittle Sarah Palin’s beautiful child who happens to have Down Syndrome. This sad, reprehensible person populates AOL chat rooms Life – Bible Fellowship, Life – Bible Fellowship 1, and Life – Beliefs Christian, with screen names lilTrigPalin and HooverMeCheney and is relentless in their dissemination of disgusting, hateful attacks against Sarah and her family. You can report them to AOL terms of service at TOSreports@aol.com . That is all I have to say. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
