“The election’s over.”Cheap Shot Obama snapped at Senator John McCain at the Blair House Project–
Via Breitbart TV
This was after Senator McCain embarrassed the democrats about all of their corrupt backroom deals.
McCain’s response to Obama’s jab: “I’m reminded of that every day.”

We all are.
A video of all of Obama’s snippy comments from today is going to be a guaranteed YouTube classic.

Not only is the election over but President Obama has moved so far beyond it that he has started his campaign for 2012. Maybe he realizes he needs as much time as possible in order to have a chance. If the GOP does not get back Congress in 2010 I do not think we will recognize this country by 2012.

I don’t think that was a cheap shot, or a comment about McCain specifically … it’s consistent with what Obama said in his State of the Union address, about Congress needing to stop worrying about campaign slogans and get some work done.

He is now President and he still has not stopped campaigning, and as mentioned above he is already starting his 2012 Campaign three years out.
He can get the job, he just can’t get the job done.
What arrogance to invite a bi-partisian meeting, and feel threatened by bi-partisian attendence, and then throw out a comment like this. If McCain would have been wearing a burka or a towel on his head Obama would have been much nicer and would have bowed to him.

I have. many times, guess what? They work!
What!?! No! Buh Glen Beck said they didn’t!!!
They do! See Canada actually has a pretty good health care system and the cool thing is Canadians pay for it with taxes so when they get sick they don’t lose their life savings!
Buh! TAXES! AHHHHHH TAXES!!!
Yes, they do pay more in taxes but they pay nothing for health care so they come out ahead in the deal.
Buh buh that Premier from Newfoundland he came to America to get health care!
That’s true, that’s because he’s rich and rich people can afford to pay for better stuff, that’s one of the nice things about being rich. Rich people don’t worry about health care so that’s not what HCR is about, it’s about getting the most care to the most people.
That’s a good thing and the only ones who are against it are the insurance companies who will lose a fortune and the stupid people they’ve suckered into thinking otherwise.

Salvage,
Emergency? Maybe, because if you are already bleeding on the floor, they would have to attend to you because they do not want the floor dirt…but comparatively…no…it does not work as it should be. Well let me rephrase that. It works as a socialize medicine should work. Low in quality and care. Not the same as the quality care we get here in the United States of America. Not even in the same league. Or even in the same State! Canadian healthcare is nothing compared to what we get, here. Ask even the Canadians! I have a friend who needed a heart surgery. Guess what? He could not tell the doctor when he wanted his own surgery. Because he is powerless to do so! Even if he asked to do it as soon as possible, what soon as possible means is very different from what we mean here. He had to wait a year and a half to be on the table. Yeah it worked, it worked for those who wished he had already died while waiting just like others so they did not have to spend public money on him.

>It works as a socialize medicine should work. Low in quality and care.
Nope, in fact Canada’s health care system is just fine, the most people get the most care without going bankrupt or having an insurance company cancel the policy for “preexisting condition”.
The difference between the two systems is not the amount of money spent but WHERE the money comes from. In America people pay for it when they need it for a very high price, in Canada people pay for it when they pay their taxes, even when they don’t need it but for a very low price.
If you like we can swap stories, I had a friend who had a very bad headache, he went to the doctor after three days of pain, the doctor sent him to the hospital, three days later he was recovering from brain surgery.
Guess how much it cost him?
Nothing, he already paid for it with his taxes.
If he were American without insurance or even with? Thousands and thousands.
That’s the real difference between the two systems.
Oh and it’s not just Canada, it’s EVERY OTHER Western nation on the planet that has it.
Weird, a system that doesn’t work is being used by every nation that seems to think it works, gosh, wonder what you know that they don’t?

Somehow, I believe that there are a few folks who’d say you’re full of crap.
And, you should know by now that it’s the law – and has been since the 50s – that anyone who goes to an emergency room must be treated and cared for, regardless of insurance coverage, lack of same, or ability/inability to pay for it. And that would even include brain surgery like your “friend” had.
Sure, they’ll present a bill – but they’ll write it off if the person can’t pay it.

What’s also funny is how you howl “America doesn’t want this!” yet this is what Obama campaigned on and strange he won. Are you sure you know what America wants?
And yes, you can cherry pick horror stories all you like, there are hospitals in America that have equal examples of incompetence but again the point you miss, on purpose or because you’re just not very bright is that the issue is how it’s paid for. Either through for profit insurance companies that will screw you over any chance they get (shall I link those horror stories?) or out of taxes that has no motivation to screw you over. Furthermore everyone pays what they can afford so everyone can afford it.
That’s not getting something for nothing, it’s getting what you need and paying what you can.
COMMUNISM! I hear you shriek. Yes, it is a form of communism, that’s true but believe it or not this is one area where the commie way actually works and doesn’t mean that you suddenly go communism is every other aspect of society.

“ONE AREA” do you know what those words mean?
Stuff like police, firemen, dog catchers and other services vital to the COMMunitinty (see I made the COMM letters big, that’s a clue for you!) are run in a COMMUNISTIC way, that is that all citizens pay for them through their taxes. Health care is done the same way in every other developed nation on planet Earth.
You may not be familiar with that world, at least that’s the impression you give.
So no, having socialized medicine does not mean the abandonment of capitalism, wealth or anything else we enjoy. It means that everyone gets health care and pay what they can for it.

why are we labeling anything “civilized” as being communism, etc..
of course there are “similar grains
of salt” to be found in every ism..
that doesn’t make them something they are not in it’s entirety..
[But communists could not be wrong. After all, their knowledge was scientific, based on historical materialism, an understanding of the dialectical process in nature and human society, and a materialist (and thus realistic) view of nature. Marx has shown empirically where society has been and why, and he and his interpreters proved that it was destined for a communist end. No one could prevent this, but only stand in the way and delay it at the cost of more human misery. Those who disagreed with this world view and even with some of the proper interpretations of Marx and Lenin were, without a scintilla of doubt, wrong. After all, did not Marx or Lenin or Stalin or Mao say that. . . . In other words, communism was like a fanatical religion. It had its revealed text and chief interpreters. It had its priests and their ritualistic prose with all the answers. It had a heaven, and the proper behavior to reach it. It had its appeal to faith. And it had its crusade against nonbelievers.
What made this secular religion so utterly lethal was its seizure of all the state's instrument of force and coercion and their immediate use to destroy or control all independent sources of power, such as the church, the professions, private businesses, schools, and, of course, the family.]
