Democrat Tamyra D’Ippolito told FOX and Friends this morning that she has collected enough signatures and will be running for the US Senate seat left vacant by Evan Bayh. D’Ippolito is the only likely democratic candidate since the deadline for filing is today.

Democrat Tamyra D’Ippolito, who has no experience in politics, wants to run for U.S. Senate in Indiana. Bayh shocked democrats and the White House yesterday when he announced that he would not seek re-election in 2010.

More… D’Ippolito accused Rahm Emanuel of having colluded with Rep. Baron Hill weeks ago to quietly gather signatures in order to make the filing deadline today, and wants a lawyer to help expose the conspiracy.

D’Ippolito reached out to “teabaggers” recently on her Facebook page.

  1. Goody. Election time.

  2. I’m willing to look at supporting any candidates who understand and adhere to American Founding Documents.

  3. I’m grabbing my popcorn and getting a seat right up front – this should be great fun…

  4. I wonder how many of those signatures are fakes.

  5. A Republican will win for Indiana in November.

  6. she better drop the word “teabaggers” pronto. Is she dissin’ us?? Show some respect NOW!

  7. If ACORN helped collect signatures, I’d get a second opinion, unless they were helping her setup low income housing for a work at home business ;) . Then ACORN would be the authority.

  8. “D’Ippolito reached out to ‘teabaggers’ recently on her Facebook page.”

That’s like when Ross Perot reached out to “you people” in 1992.

  9. I’m sincerely hoping every one of her petition signatures is valid! The Dems NEED more candidates just like Tamyra D’Ippolito. You go, girl!

(Somewhere in D.C. the Democrats are doing the “Double Face-Palm” as we speak)

  10. Absolutely! you go girl! I hope this woman has the signatures. This race couldn’t be more interesting.

Yoou’d better make more popcorn, this is going to be good.

  11. If Republicans can hold their head above water (doubtful, I know), they will easily win this seat, regardless of who the Dem nominee is.

  12. If it turns out she has the signatures, and will be the only Democrat eligible to be on the ballot, can Bayh later change his mind and decide to defend the seat?

  13. She fits the stereotype of another “fat” female democrat. Just like Feinstein, McCaskill, Stabenow, Murray, Edwards(even though she’s not a Senator) Clinton, Lincoln. Egads, they have some heifers!!!

  14. At aceofspadeshq they actually had a signature drive FOR this lady. If she really gets into the race the Dems are f*cked! :)

  15. Awwwwww, she reached out to “teabaggers.”

    (. . . Bimbo . . .)

  16. Referring to the tea-party activists as “teabaggers” indicates that she, like most of the present Congress, is utterly clueless.

I’d expect the Blowhard to use “teabaggers,” but he’s a slow learner.

  17. This “teabagger” will help get you on the ballot, but this tea partier will make sure you arent elected.

  18. Please watch your language in here, guys. Astericks don’t help much to hide your foul mouth. I want to enjoy coming to this site and seeing the comments. Thanks!

If the report was correct, Senator Bayh needed to submit his petition forms on time in order to get on the ballot. If he does not, then he would have to be a write in candidate. I do not know what the rules for write ins are in Indiana.

  20. “…we don’t have low income housing..”

Her comment here makes me highly suspicious that her solutions would be typical dem. subsidy ideas.

  21. per usual the WH is trying to fix the election….why do they keep pushing and pushing, do they not think we will push back?

  22. My understanding is that if this woman – who is no friend to the tea party movement – does get on the ballot unopposed, she becomes the candidate.

You can bet that every one of her signatures will be verified. Funny how highly scrutinized electoral eligibility normally is, but the Federal Election Commission didn’t even try to validate one of the actual *candidates* for high national office last time around, or scrutinize his illegal fundraising activity.

In any event, it appears that the people of Indiana do not appreciate Bayh’s hand-off to the powers-that-be. Good for them. Now the question is, can the Stupid Party deliver for once?

  23. Didn’t she originally run to be able to push the medical health care bill? Are you people promoting her, really sure she is what you want?

  24. I can’ t believe she just reached out to Tea Partiers by calling them ‘tea baggers’. I had to do a double take to make sure that’s what she said.

If she is the Dem candidate, whatever slim chance she had I think she just lost it right there.

  25. Okay, I just wasted time looking at her Facebook page and what a joke. She offends the Tea Party people and then admonishes someone to “get it right”. Unbelievable. I hate to be the pig of this board but the only thing more unbelievable than that is the picture she uses on Facebook. Based on the Fox News interview, not current … not accurate. She needs a new Photoshop person.

  26. ROTFLMAO!
    teabaggers? Ha-Ha-Ha….Run, tamyria, Run…
BTW…this doesn’t help blonde women in America at all ; )

  27. @J

Nobody here want’s her to win, we do want her on the ballot as she would be the weaker of any candidate put forward by the Democrat machine.

Now, if Rham has colluded with Rep. Baron to get him as the Bayh’s replacement that opens up a real can of worms. If you were an Indiana Democrat rank-and-file member how would you react to the party elite using the the rules in back room deals so they decide who’s going to run and who is not? Even if they lost the Senate seat, the people would get behind Di’ppolito as a legitimate candidate. Think of how the Republican voters acted with Scozafa… Scosasa… Sosz… that hack in district 42?

    (Yeah, like that…)

  28. Am I the only one wondering if this isn’t the White House doing some gaming, somehow?

She sounds like just the kind of goof that radical loving Obama would be happy to have in a Senate he could manipulate. They would be parroting the tea party movement, using liberal fringe, and figuring out how to use us to get their outsider candidates on the ballot.

  29. Call the TPM “teabaggers” wow how to lose a race really fast.

“Think of how the Republican voters acted with Scozafa… Scosasa… Sosz… that hack in district 42?”

DeDe Scozzafava, she ran in New York’s 23rd U.S. House District.

Regardless, I’d hope that an “Indiana Democrat rank-and-file member” would realize that electing her to spite the DNC for it’s “using the the rules in back room deals so they decide who’s going to run and who is not” still gives the DNC that Senate seat.

  31. She seems pretty typical of a Dem candidate.

  32. Let’s see, she has no political experience … is that a plus or a minus?

  33. Well, she has held productive employment in her life. Right there, she has more qualifications for office than mr. wonderful of Illinois.

  34. ROFLMAO . . . after looking at her FB page and listening to the interview posted to YouTube (above), I have to agree with Betsy Ross (#27). D’Ippolito may well be biden’s muse.

  35. People who believe that “teabaggers” is an appropriate way to refer to their fellow citizens are gullible idiots who’ve fallen for juvenile MSNBC antics as legitimate news. So what do you call fools who follow MSNBC’s policy of referring to citizens as practitioners of a vulgar sexual act? Why, PeaCOCK SUCKERS of course.

  36. I’m sorry, but the Senate is way over the limit on fat, ugly liberal women.

  37. I copied her facebook postings and grabbed the screenshots for an email campaign to all Tea Partiers. She’s a complete idiot and has no chance in hell of winning. Good thing she’s on the ballot!!

If you notice, she did some major touchup work (as in hired a face double) for her campaign picture. She’s a stereotypical ugly liberal. Liberals must be the party of juvenile rejects.

  38. She should not have counted SIGNATURES

the same way the No!bama admin

    was counting JOBS CREATED……….

    That dog don’t hunt.
