The Blair House Project Live—-
President Obama hosts members of Congress at the Blair House today in an effort to reach a compromise ram his health care legislation through Congress.
C-SPAN will be broadcasting the entire six hour spectacle starting at 9AM CST.
Click on the Photo for the Live Video—

Barack Obama will finally allow a few hours of health care talks to be aired live on C-SPAN.
Republicans have a Truth Squad of Representative-Doctors who are standing by to fact check the health care summit. (If anyone can find where this truth squad is blogging from please let me know in the comments.)
Here’s the Live GOP Response To the Obamacare Kabuki–
…This is cool.
(Thanks Ericka, Sue and Dan for the code.)
Sarah Palin calls the dem’s latest plan “More of the Same, Only More Expensive.”
Michelle Malkin and The Hill will be liveblogging the blamefest all day.
…I see Obama’s speaking. Did he blame Bush yet?
Here’s a bipartisan quote from Sen. Chris Dodd, regarding today’s summit: “We’ll have that meeting…but far more important, after that meeting, you can either join us or get out of the way.”
–Senator Alexander tells Obama that the GOP wants to start over. (So do the American people.) That will go over like a lead balloon.
UPDATE: Rasmussen reported today- 58% of voters oppose health insurance with a public option if they are forced to switch plans. Only 28% of voters like the idea.
UPDATE: President Obama to Senator Alexander: “Lamar, both I and Lamar went a little bit over our original allocated time. I — not wanting to be a hypocrite — wanted to give you some slack.”

Thanks for the slack.
UPDATE: Did anyone else notice that Obama does not care for Eric Cantor at all? …Someone needs to put together a tape of Obama’s snippy remarks and gestures from today’s meeting. Obama is ANGRY.
More… President scolds Eric Cantor.
UPDATE: From the RNC feed above… From out count, President Obama and Democrats have spoken for 109 minutes. Republicans have spoken for 54 minutes … nearly 2 to 1 in favor of the Obama Democrats.
UPDATE: Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI): If you think the American people want a government takeover of health care, I respectfully submit you’re not listening to them.
…Right on!

The meeting is scheduled for 9 AM and barry strolls in at 10:04 AM…what’s up with that?

So, the Union Boss in chief is already attacking insurance companies in opening remarks…Never a word mentioned of the trial lawyers who make a living suing insurance companies, which…Go figure, drive up costs…It is documented that 25% of medical prescriptions, test and procedures are really “defensive medicine” practiced by doctors trying to avoid lawsuits. Meaning, they would not be needed in a sane litigation environment…Obama is a fraud, covering for the Trial Lawyers of America…He is the Union Boss in Chief, not the President of all Americans.

Why were governors not allowed into this circus since Obama wants to dump a large portion of the cost on them and their states? Is it because he knows that the states are now passing laws that would allow their states to opt out of Obamacare?
Damn, can’t have the guys at the local level giving any imput, can we?
ALL ABOUT OBAMA.

OMG – Someone needs to tell Obama not to have that upturned nose-in-the-air look when he’s listening (like he is to Lamar Alexander). It looks horrible!!
I will even not pile on here. Just for kicks, let’s say he’s not listening with arrogance, that’s just how he carries himself bodily….. it looks appalling!
It’s stunning that his own people (the ones who should notice stuff like this) are no more competent at their jobs than he is.

I see that all the Republican squishes are there, Alexander, and McCain. They give me such confidence, confidence they will find a way to stab us all in the back.

Alexander swung for the fences…I like it…
Scott commented:
Want Healthcare reform Obama…Do the things that are free of charge and will save hundreds of billions a year…Tort reform and allowing insurance to cross state lines…So easy a caveman could do it Obama!
Scott commented:
Medicaid is costing states “on average” 20% of their budgets…Since Obama’s plan calls for doubling and tripling the numbers on Medicaid, what will be the new figure for States? State revenues are falling, how much will they have to raise taxes now?
Mike in VA commented:
Alexander says what the people say, start over. He gives 6 proposals. Pelosi says “It’s too late to start over” and gives a speech. Reid well, another speech… The Dems are only there for the theatrics…. The Republicians should just get up and walk out.
IOpian commented:
I couldn’t tell if Pelosi was speaking or conducting an orchestra with her hands and bug-eyed expressions.

Agreed. McCain is already at it. He wants the FDA to regulate supplements and vitamins… It isn’t enough that they want to take over health care…

Here in my home town, yet another Section Eight parasite killed her two-year old bastard daughter. (Don’t worry, she has four more.) Scalded her in a bathtub, but then didn’t take the child to a hospital. The child died several days later, after enduring what must have been torture. In other words, another grim statistic caused by George W. Bush, the patriarchy and white America. How does this fit into the Blowhard’s scheme of things? Will a bigger welfare check solve this problem?
Incidentally, the woman, a drug user, had her children taken away before this. But the “helping and caring” government agencies gave them back. Another government success story, bringing together a “family” despite its “alternative” lifestyle.

There are so many relatively simple ways to reduce costs: tort reform, allow inter-state competition between insurance companies, allow young people to buy high deductible catastrophic policies, etc.

Too funny. Obama just used Nevada as an example location for a fictional company that might not have sufficient coverage.
Should have said Las Vegas.

We see Obama monopolizing the conversation. Whenever a republican starts to criticize the plan or offers ideas, Obama interrupts and prattles on for ten minutes without taking a breath. I’m glad Sen. McConnell pointed out the disparity in time too, where dems were giving themselves twice as much time as allocated to republicans.

No teleprompters at this summit. Everyone’s going “Uh…..uhh……umm…..” …especially Obama, since he’s doing most of the talking.

Cantor and Ryan rule. Just shows how immature and inexperienced Obama is. It’s like watching a toddler in a sandbox. The only thing he can do is cut people short, turn the conversation back to him or lie. He’s pretty much done all of that in the first hours of this fiasco. Doesn’t make him or the Dems look good but it sure shows that Cantor and Ryan are willing to put it all out on the line.
Eh, maybe O is just worried that Cantor will be taking his job soon.

then after McCain spoke for “we the people”, Obama chastized him by saying his campgaign is over (or something like that).. what a freakin’ hypocrite..*sigh*

I wonder about one thing actually. Why are such ridiculous farces called “kabuki”? Michelle Malkin does it too. And I find it actually quite racist and insulting. Kabuki is an art that takes an incredible amount of dedication and skill.
Comparing this art with the backroom politics of professinal liars and traitors is an insult to every single kabuki actor who has been on stage ever since the 17th century.

Durbin said that all Americans will have same health plan as Federal employees. Huh? That’s not what’s on the table. And if that were the plan, why the need to write a new bill?
Right after that lie BHO talked about how America is the wealthiest nation on the earth.
What I want to know is what are the Dems smoking or ingesting – it certainly isn’t legal to cause hallucinations such as these.

John Gargano commented:
If there was any sincerity on the part of the Obama Administration, they would conduct a similar summit 2x per month going forward on TV, without the President as a moderator.
Such a televised meeting would take the guess work out of who was for what and who wasn’t. Clearly the D’s couldn’t come to every meeting with nothing but sob stories and devoid of realistic solutions to specific problems. When areas of potential compromise were identified, the respective parties could work on them between meetings and bring the results to the next meeting and make presentations. This would be viewed upon by the American people as honest PROGRESS.
Isn’t it glaringly obvious that a real solution to the problem of healthcare reform would have been the result of a detailed and open process that any business on the planet would undertake. First, there would have been a clear definition of the problem. Second, various parties would analyze the issues and develop solutions to each component of the problem. Third, the solutions would be discussed, analyzed and modified by the specific parties responsible for each area of concern Forth, there would have been a first draft of a solution presented to the Board (The People in this case) and then, fifth, there would be a period of evaluation. Sixth, would be revisions based upon input from all parties including the public and seventh, a final bill would be drafted and voted on.
Am I the only one that notices the total absence of any type of professional problem solving process being employed by these people?
Its no wonder our country is on the verge of bankruptcy. If any business on the planet went about solving their problems like this, they too would go bankrupt.
