Too much.
Harry Reid told Barack Obama to lay off Vegas tonight after the president slighted Sin City in his jobs speech earlier today in New Hampshire.
CNN Political Ticket reported:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told the White House on Tuesday to “lay off Las Vegas” after President Obama slighted the city during a riff about government spending.
“You don’t go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage,” Obama said at a New Hampshire town hall Tuesday. “You don’t blow a bunch of cash in Vegas when you’re trying to save for college. You prioritize. You make tough choices. And it’s time your government did the same.”
That remark sparked a flurry of condemnations from Nevada Republicans, including Danny Tarkanian and Sue Lowden, two Republicans hoping to unseat Reid this November.
“It is indefensible for Harry Reid to once again sit on his hands when President Obama continues to bash Las Vegas and Nevada’s economic engine,” Lowden said in a statement e-mailed out to reporters Tuesday afternoon.
But Reid, it turns out, was already on the case.
“I just spoke to the White House and told them that while the President is correct that people saving for college need to be fiscally responsible, the President needs to lay off Las Vegas and stop making it the poster child for where people shouldn’t be spending their money,” Reid said in a statement. “To truly reenergize our economy, we need people to travel to Las Vegas. I would much rather tourists and business travelers spend their money in Las Vegas than spend it overseas.”
Barack Obama is going to hold a fundraiser with Harry Reid later this month in Las Vegas. That ought to be interesting.

Why would Barack Hussein Obama care what happens to Las Vegas? He does his Gambling in Macau…also known as East Las Vegas.

Obamao’s is the typical socialist attitude. He knows best how America should spend their money. He’s decided we can’t afford to gamble in Vegas because we should spend our money on socialized health care instead.

Mr. Reid will lose in 2010. He is done!

Maybe somebody should tell Obama, “You don’t blow a bunch of cash in Washington when you’re claiming to be fiscally responsible.”

Harry’s in an awful political position in his state…Obama Inc. knows this. You don’t think this was a “setup”…a slow pitch for harry to knock out of the park in defending Nevada against an unpopular president? Harry gets to defend his citizens, perhaps even using the upcoming Obama visit to launch from: (“Mr. President, I must say our proud state and, in particular, our great citizens of Las Vegas, do not need your brand of “support”. Thanks for the offer to visit, but no thanks…”)?

Obama already laid off Las Vegas. The last time he opened his mouth revenues went down and pink slips went out in Vegas.
Nancy commented:
If Reid wants the ghost of a chance of being re-elected he should tell Obama “Thanks, but no thanks.” In his place, I wouldn’t want to be associated with the Trillion Dollar President even slightly after the way he has trashed Nevada’s largest industry. If Reid had a grain of survival sense, he would publicly reject Obama’s policies and start actually working for the good of Nevada. But that would require that he drop the role of ideologue, which is probably too much to ask.
