Harry Reid: Men, When They're Out of Work, Tend to be Abusive

While he “was home dealing with domestic abuse” (at his home?) Harry Reid said domestic abuse has gotten out of hand. His approval rating at home is at 33% after all.
The Hill reported, via Free Republic:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) suggested Monday that domestic violence by men has increased due to U.S. joblessness.
Reid, speaking in the midst of a Senate debate over whether to pass a $15 billion package meant to spur job creation, appeared to argue that joblessness would lead to more domestic violence.
“I met with some people while I was home dealing with domestic abuse. It has gotten out of hand,” Reid said on the Senate floor. “Why? Men don’t have jobs.”
Reid said that the effects of joblessness on domestic violence were especially pronounced among men, because, Reid said, women tend to be less abusive.
“Women don’t have jobs either, but women aren’t abusive, most of the time,” he said.
Harry’s wife ought to take this as a warning come November.

My wife is extremely abusive, just not physically abusive. Women can often be more abusive then men, but in a myriad of ways.
The reason why women generally aren’t physically abusive is because they usually give up about 6 inches in height to the average man and about 50 pounds in body weight.

He’d be surprised to see how many cases there are. Just usually they don’t pop up in public because husbands of abusive wives face an even greater obstacle. Cause, let’s face it, how many men would be man enough to admit that their wife is abusive? Not many. But the problem exists. It’s apparently so bad, at least here, that there is an organisation dealing with it and the government, too, has some institutions for it.

There are simply few social taboos about a woman hitting a man. Woeen cna hit men without the fear of inflicting physical damage, unless they use an ashtray like Mrs. Clintor or a putter lke Mrs. Woods

Given the Obama adminstration twinn goals of both driving up hte unemployment rate and driving men out of hte workforce, it would interesting to quantify Dirty Harry’s number.
