It looks like the 9-11 Truthers have been impressed with Debra Medina for a while.

From the We Are Change Truther website: “Debra Medina & Sheriff Richard Mack at “States’ Rights Tea Party” in Seguin”
Yesterday, Texas Tea Party candidate effectively destroyed her campaign for governor when she told Glenn Beck that there were “some very good arguments” that the U.S. was involved in bringing down the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.
Governor Rick Perry and Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison responded to these crazy statements yesterday afternoon.
The Dallas News reported:
Medina, Perry and Hutchison are battling for the GOP nomination. In recent weeks, Medina has surprised political observers by surging in public opinion polls and raising her profile in two televised debates.
Perry said Medina’s remarks “were an insult to the thousands of Americans who lost loved ones.” He countered that anyone “should be ashamed” for suggesting involvement by former President George W. Bush’s administration. Bush was Perry’s predecessor as Texas governor.
Hutchison stressed that it was “al-Qaida terrorists who declared war on America. To suggest otherwise is an affront to the men and women who are sacrificing their lives to root out the terrorists in Afghanistan and around the globe.”
Beck, who is influential among the Libertarian-leaning voters that Medina has attracted, said he had been flooded with mail since he announced she would be on the show. Medina said in the interview that she has not been questioning the attacks publicly.
“There was a theme that ran against you, and that is, you are a ’9/11 Truther,’” Beck said, referring to the term given to people who doubt the official account of Sept. 11.
“While I don’t endorse anyone … I think I can write her off the list,” Beck said. “Let me take another look at Kay Bailey Hutchison if I have to. Rick, I think you and I could French kiss right now.”

Perry is a good man, It is just ego for Hutchison to be taking him on anyway. This political crap about whose turn it is is utter nonsense. Last itme I looked into it, the voters decide whose turn it is. The other candidate has shown her colors, on to the primary!

Perry isn’t quite the shoe in that some would have you believe. They don’t call him “Slick Rick” for no reason.
If KBH was pro-life instead of pro-choice I honestly think she’d have an excellent chance of beating Perry.
But she doesn’t and she won’t.
Logus commented:
The birther issue seems to me to be more reasonable than the 9-11 conspiracy. Above that though, any time you have a conspiracy theory I’d say it’s time to step back, have a serious pause and consider your sources, what you’re breathing and what your thought processes are!
Glenn said he never had a chance to ask Medina his second question, about Birtherism. I suspect she’d have responded positively to that as well.
I’m not one to denigrate Birthers as Beck and others will. I do think that there are some possibilities. That said, I haven’t really looked into it because honestly I don’t care. I think it’s a wedge issue encouraged by Obama, therefore it’s all the more reason to ignore it and press him and his administration on easier, tangible and verifiable targests such as his ideology and who he surrounds himself with and wants to bring on board into the administration and changes he wishes to make.
But birthers are an obstinate bunch, focusing too much on the bark instead of the whole tree, much less the forest. To that end, they are a hinderance to the conservative movement and our only recourse is to continually chide and educate them on the forest, but not cast them aside. If we cast birthers aside we will see a serious fracture in the current conservative swell.
As for 9-11 truthers. Knock their heads to hopefully get them to see the light, and if that doesn’t work, cast them aside and move on. There are truthers across the ideological spectrum and are a fringe.
maverick muse commented:
Surprise? No. Of course Perry and Hutchison jumped on the opportunity to sabotage Medina’s campaign.
No surprise, either, to find how easy it is to fabricate whole cloth.
DISAPPOINTING? Yes.
Medina is not a “truther” and that has no part in her campaign for the Tea Party GOP Texas Governor’s race. But because the established corrupt interests say to the contrary, and money talks, Beck et al. launch the witch hunt and look who else jumped on that bandwagon.
For bias and shame. Jim Hoft will accept Perry’s and Hutchison’s disavowal of “trutherism” but not Medina’s.
Responsible journalists do scholarly investigations. Investigative journalists study government corruption. But not here regarding Texas politics.

Sarah Palin recently endorsed Rep. Ron Paul, saying that she agrees with him on the vast majority of issues.

Remember also that Sara Palin said”….it was a legitimate question” in regard to questioning Obama’s eligibility to be president.I wonder if Beck will take her out soon.
Valerie commented:
I don’t like being called a birther. I think that term is unfair and unduly insulting.
I remember that the Obama Campaign brought up the issue of John McCain’s citizenship, and John McCain promptly produced his documents. Barack Obama did not do the same.
The ONLY reason anybody to continue to question Obama’s citizenship is because Obama never did what John McCain did.
That last sentence applies to a lot of things besides the production of an easily-available set of documents.
maverick muse commented:
See how easy it is to finish someone else’s sentence with your own bias:
#6 “she told Glenn Beck that there were ‘some very good arguments’ that the U.S. was involved in bringing down the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.”
Address the point: Medina said that she is not a so-called “truther” and that “trutherism” has no part in her campaign. By insisting otherwise, you only show your own bias wishing it were all about “trutherism”, MAKING it all about nothing applicable.
When the established GOP interests usurp the Tea Party momentum to further corruption in government, look hard at yourself and admit your own discipleship with Alinsky. But since you excuse yourself, you are deluded to believe you won’t be corrupted through corruption.
Medina’s campaign is for TRANSPARENCY in government that Rick Perry has thwarted and refused to permit. http://www.medinafortexas.com/issues.php
Until you study Medina’s campaign, sabotaging it on Glenn Beck’s word is as “kooky” as voting for four-more-years of kickbacks determining government policy in Texas.
The most powerful Republican manipulators have fabricated this whole cloth smear campaign of a witch hunt to exterminate opposition. I’m not buying.

What we got here is a failure to communicate.
Debra Medina never was a “truther”, as if that matters to those fabricating reports to the contrary in order to sabotage the Tea Party candidate.
noislamocommie commented:
The hypocrisy of stamping out those who “question boldly”is a torment. Beck advocates and trains his audience to become suspicious of government and when they pick the wrong flavor he gives the knife. I admire his history classes and the raising of political consciousness but the hypocrisy is stunning.
It is easy to see the inconsistencies and problems with the document Obama posted online. People are right to question its authenticity. Researchers are having trouble tying his narrative to time and place. This is not just made up crap. African listed as race when you can look at official government listings clearly laid out was reported on Obama File. The Fact-checkers who “verified” O’s docs were an English and philosophy major that look like an ad for Starbucks. And the real legal question is : “How can a dual national be a “Natural Born citizen”. The O File blog has all the SCOTUS cases listed in a chart where you can see differentiation in citizenship classification. But BECK will take out those who “question boldly”.So now just like poison-apple Oprah we have a very influential media personality taking out the one chance Texans had to get out of the “machine”, Rick Perry was perfectly OK with using imminent domain to grab HUGE plots of land away from Texas farmers, converting thousands of acres of farmland into foreign controlled and operated highways already owned by Texan-taxpayers!
DO what BECK bids just like Oprah got us Obama!
maverick muse commented:
Glenn Beck claims to be a Libertarian. His success with that obvious disconnect shows how easy it can be with the money and political backing to reduce Libertarianism into Beckism. Beck gets more of what he craves, and Perry does, too.
Revisionism is corruption of the record to further corrupt government with unconstitutional powers of abuse. Non-transparent government breeds corruption through Perry’s PAC for profit at the expense of Texans who not only lose liberty, but the power to rescind corruption.
retire05 commented:
maverick muse; if you are going to troll for Medina, at least try to get your facts right. Palin has not endorsed Ron Paul. She has endorsed Rand Paul, who is hardly as radical as his father.
Also, since you think Medina is not a “truther” perhaps you would like to tell me why she did not give just a simple “No” to the question Beck asked her? And don’t give me some quip about “thought control” and freedom of speech.
Medina has been in bed with the “truthers” for a while, having been on Alex Jones’ radio show at least six times. If she has nothing in common with Jones, why grace him with her presence?
So go troll for Medina somewhere else. She had the opportunity to quelch all the rumors about her yesterday, and she flunked the test. And no amount of trolling on your part can put those words back into her mouth.
TexasTrooper commented:
Excellent response Maverick….Chuck Baldwin called out Perry, Beck and Palin in the news with views article ….Chuck Baldwin is a very honorable man and sees the corruptness of the likes of above….Beck has claimed in the past that he admires Baldwin and he is a friend…looks like Becks old friends and many others have seen the fraud Beck is..
The corrupt political machine is working in high gear here in Texas. Debra is a strong constitutional conservative Republican and many are still in support of her and more are joining in. Perry is corrupt to the gills and kbh forget that one…they both want big government. Being a cattle rancher land owner in North Texas Perry is drooling to take my land and many others for his own benefit constructing the TTC with Spain being the winning builder. Im ready to BOOT PERRY OUT his agenda is not for TEXAS but for his career political ego and arrogance..nuff said ..

My husband came home from work yesterday heard the Medina audio and said: “I’m more concerned about Beck than Medina”. Her problem is she was being honest.
I see now what a hatchet job it was. On Walton & Johnson show this A.M. they laid it all out. Pat Grey, Becks #2 guy used to run a popular morning show In Houston. They would bash Ron Paul and his supporters without mercy, often very rude and short.I can almost feel the glee Beck & Pat Grey would have in taking out Medina as she was a Ron Paul campaigner.
I am no Paul fan. I am worried about Islam and work with a group but I did not support their style in handling those of differing opinions. This cadre are all connected with Perry via Senator Dan Patrick of TX. who owns the radio station that Grey used to work on. This one is real obvious!
Pat the First commented:
I have little or no respect for Truthers. How anyone in their right mind can think that the US would allow an attack on US soil is beyond me. Especially an unabashed Christian like President Bush.
Now, B.O. has lied so much it is not too hard to question anything he says. I still can’t believe that someone with such a low moral standard as him lives in the WH.
retire05 commented:
TexasTrooper (which I seriously doubt) perhaps you are unaware of the legislation that strengthened our “eminent domain” rights here in Texas after Kelo.
And perhaps you would like to leave I-35 as it is, the second most dangerous interstate highway in the nation? God knows, something must be done about I-35.
You will use the TTC to bash Perry, but you won’t address Medina’s claims to want to increase our sales tax (not that it is already high enough). Nor will you address Medina’s refusal to take on the central appraisal district system we have here.
But I promise you, if Medina takes the primary, she will be left in a bar ditch when the White campaign gets done with her as the DNC will pour millions into Texas on the hopes they can turn this state blue.
Now, perhaps you would like to answer the question of why Medina has aligned herself with Alex Jones, since maverick won’t?
Jayne on the left coast commented:
The Paulbots are out in force today. Remember when they would spam all the polls after debates so Paul would win by 110%? Hey what ever happened to Paulville? You know the perfect community where all of you could live “OFF GRID”? All Medina had to do was answer NO, and that would have ended the subject. Anyone who believes our Country would to such a heinous thing as 9/11 should be ashamed.
noislamocommie commented:
One more point. I never got into the 9-11 truther stuff but its obvious that the one thing in common in all of this is treason committed by the US govt. against its own folks. To me, leaving the borders open while the trespassers steal from the citizens via property taxes is a form of treason.
In terms of terrorism and Jihad against the USA.Pajamas Media needs to be put on trial like MEDINA for exposing this red hot treason tale:
We then watched a short film on Islamic infiltration, with Bill Whittle. You can find it here-

Still doesn’t beat German truthers… just saying, if you want something to be really stupid, go to today’s Germany. No matter what it is. You won’t find it any more stupid than in Germany. Well, maybe in the UK. At times.
I can’t really say much else, since, well, the only involved person, who rings a bell, is Beck.
Mike commented:
IMO Beck just outted himself for the establishment. Why ask? What effect does the answer have on the rest of her platform? Is she forcing this opinion on anyone else? She may think as she like. This was the first none demorepublican bot with a shot at a high level office in a looong time. Now you Texans have the same 2 choices as everyone else, bad or worse.
noislamocommie commented:
So true Mike…but I think now its going to get interesting. I suspect that we will see voters strike out anyway in this primary.Leftist Indies will vote for her and the independent thinking right-wingers and rednecks will also.It will be interesting.
I no longer trust Beck…but God bless his great history classes on Progressivism.
Guy commented:
While I agree that it’s not pleasant to see a candidate get shot down for one simple statement, if she does indeed believe our government was involved in 9/11, well, that’s a biggie. In my opinion, anyone who can even entertain thoughts of such a conspiracy is somewhat imbalanced. Unbalanced people have no place in positions of power and authority…
I’ll be doing my own research to see if there is any other evidence to support these allegations, but if I determine that she is on board with that particular conspiracy theory, then she’s off of my list …
On the “birther” subject …it’s not even a valid comparison. The 9/11 theory is absolute garbage, with NO evidence whatsoever that indicates it was anything but a terrorist attack. Anyone who claims otherwise is either a rabid Bush hater or a total nutcase. However, there is a MOUNTAIN of evidence to support the claims that Obama isn’t eligible to be president, and he has arrogantly refused to offer one piece of documentation to prove otherwise. Some will argue that refusal to produce proof is not an admission of guilt, but it sure has a certain smell to me. There are plenty of perfectly sane people out there who want the questions about his citizenship answered. There are NO sane people out there who think our government loaded the twin towers up with explosives and ruined thousands of people’s lives for political gain. Didn’t happen, would never happen, and if you think otherwise, well, I feel sorry for you. Putting the two theories together in the same category is ridiculous.
Karen commented:
Why is it that most of us don’t trust the government for anything anymore, yet we seem to give them a free pass on 9-11?
If we can all agree that our media is propoganda and that most of what our government tells us are lies, then why can’t we make the connection (or at least consider), that our government (you know, the one that steals from us and lies to us repeatedly), had some part in 9-11?

Read this article especially towards the bottom Chuck talks of the warnings about Perry, Palin and Beck and praises Medina !!! ” Medina
is committed to preserving Texas’ independence and sovereignty. She
is opposed to the Patriot Act. She will secure the Texas border. She
will give Texas Vermont-style open carry freedoms for gun owners. She
wants to get rid of unconstitutional property taxes in Texas. She will
stop the NAFTA superhighway. Medina is the real deal. ”

here is a thought- you might think a truther is crazy- (im not one- but its is obvious there was a cover up- of incompetence) but I dont think having a truther as Governor is such a bad thing- distrust of federal and stronger state ties is all for the better. about time states took their power back.
