In December the Obama Administration announced they had “saved or created” 1.1 million jobs.
In January the Obama Administration announced they had “saved or created” 2 million jobs.
Too bad for Obama that Americans aren’t buying his “saved or created” nonsense.
Just 6% of Americans believe the $787 “stimulus” boondoggle created any jobs according to a recent New York Times/CBS poll.

Just 6%.
It must be Bush’s fault.
UPDATE: Jason Mattera points out that more Americans who believe that Bush blew up the World Trade Center that that Porkulus created jobs. Sad.

It was the consistency of the RHETORIC that the Obama WH valued about all.
They’ve been taking everyone’s money and applying it elsewhere while they talked talked stimulus, recovery, jobs.

Lets be accurate here.
Opie had $350 billion left behind by Bush for Opie to distribute from TARP.
Then Opie had $787 Billion from the bill that not a single Republican was invited to participate on during it’s CONFERENCE COMMITTEE to merge 2 libtard bills.
Then we’ve added $75 billion more in extended unemployment benefits.
OPIE IS A F@#K UP. And a Marxist.

41 percent believe “has not, but will create jobs”?
Ummm, okay… follow-up question then. HOW? Ask those 41 percent to explain exactly how doing everything to NOT spur job creation is supposed to suddenly create jobs.
And then a follow-up to that would be to explain how spending this money was supposed to prevent the unemployment rate from going above 8 percent, but instead has risen above 10 percent. If Obama was completely and utterly *wrong* about that, what is the evidence that just magically we’ll have job creation all of a sudden?

It appears the jobs saved or created have been those of pollsters.

The Federal Government is now larger (by far!) than it has ever been…and that with a major reduction in military personnel (Thanks, Clinton). And believe it or not, it’s going to GROW even larger.
We’ve got some executive orders coming out right quick that will grow the government by several thousand more employees – and they won’t be military personnel either!
Those will be found under the “jobs created” category.

Yup, in the old USSR it was called the Politburo. Kinda like what we have here when a certain congresswoman can have her family chauffeured around by the Air Force. Don’t like it comrades? Well, hard cheese!

The Tea Party is putting up a candidate against Harry Reid. This is worrysome because this could give Reid a win in Nevada. Michael Steele is coming out here to see the Head of the Tea Party movement before they announce their candidate.
On the local news I heard that they tried to get in touch with the Tea Party movement’s leaders to get them to answer a few questions. When someone finally returned the call they refused to answer any questions until they put up their candidate which is still weeks away.
It smells a little fishy. We know that Obama will stop at nothing to win and if they can put up Tea Party candidates they will stop the Republicans dead in their tracks.

It’s not just the Congress and their elitist perks. They have to make sure all those government workers will have their Cadillac health plans and luxury pensions.
The pensions used to be because they were paid less.
Now they make more and still get better pensions.
And just think about the pensions and Social Security and other benefits we’ll have to pay for immigrant amnesty. That would be hundreds of billions more every year.
We are getting shafted by all of our politicians,
federal, state, and local.

Point well taken. But returning to my USSR analogy, eventually there weren’t enough Kulaks to steal from in order to run the country. At that point even the peasant class moved on up to Kulak status (read also: “I will not raise your taxes”). So, is there a penultimate needle before the camel’s back is broken, or is there simply massive, swift catastrophic failure?

2/3rd’s of the stimulus has not been spent yet, and is being saved for the D.N.C elections in November.

In 2007, the median family income in the US was $50,233. Thus, government will consume the entire income of almost 1 1/2 families to gain the funds necessary to pay the average federal government employee, who earns approximately $71,000.
This is not the road to recovering prosperity. It is the road to serfdom. Stop the madness before it consumes all our wealth.

We need to focus, folks. These losers will not lose power in November without a fight, and we need to get better candidates through the primaries on the GOP side so that we actually have a decent choice for a change. It’s time to focus relentlessly on volunteer campaign work for better candidates, rather than griping about the latest atrocities out of Washington.

That misnamed ‘stimulus’ was the biggest-scale looting of the US Treasury in history, and was all about a monster payoff for Democrat party constituencies. Not to mention for relatively unlimited funds to filter into the 2010-year political campaign on the D side, through murky organizations like ACORN.
There’s certainly a stimulus in Federal hiring, with some folks thinking that if the US is going to copy Europe, the only successes on your block will be bureaucrats, and everyone else will live on unemployment.
But the ‘stimulus’ (wink, nudge) was never about jobs for the unwashed Red-staters.
The only good thing is that the American public seem to have caught on to what a scam it is.
Tully commented:
I’m sure someone above has already said it, but SURE the stimulus “saved or created” jobs. GOVERNMENT jobs. Didn’t do diddly for anyone else.

Two-thirds of the TARP monies are being held back. They will be dropped into the economy at one time, likely in late summer. Democrats are counting on their media, and the proclamation that unemployment is falling…to keep them in control of congress.
I am betting on the American people seeing through this ploy.

These newly hired government workers are former (or present) members of
ACORN. Well, they had to go somewhere after being defunded (laugh). Obama is filling the government with radicals and Blacks. He’s also probably pulling a Clinton and retiring as many white men as possible. We will likely see our government run by the Blacks which is what the Blacks expected when Obama was elected. What was it one of the Black Panthers told a white guy? “You’re going down, whitey”. I talked to a friend where I used to work and the Blacks there are saying “I don’t have to work now that Obama is president”.
Of course, these government workers could be his private army he said he was going to have, funded as well as the military, you know. What I would like to know is, where is he putting all these people? Government workers were as thick as flies before this new influx so where are these new ones going?.

Michael commented:
So you’re saying that, regardless of how many jobs were ACTUALLY created, just because people BELIEVE the stimulus didn’t create jobs, it’s a failure?
And your commenters are saying the public isn’t fooled?
Wrong and wrong. The stimulus created jobs. Check with the CBO. As far as Americans being fooled, anyone listening to you sure is.

Amazingoly commented:
If only a third of the stimulus has been spent with apparently very low success, why can’t they give the money back to lower our debt? The balance will be watched very closely, as the Democrats may TRY to use this money for their re-election efforts, and that would be illegal at best.
