An emotional Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) defended her decision to work out a Louisiana Purchase for her vote for Obamacare.
She told Republicans to “Keep their mouth’s shut.”

Whatever.

  1. What a self-centered blowhard! In her mind, she is the champion of the world. When the truth emerges in the end, she is likely to be found to be far more corrupt than we already know. The type is easily observable, even for those with no psychiatric training. She actually sees herself as a self-sacrificing martyr.

  2. I guess the recall petitions going around Louisiana rattled her cage.

  3. She’s disgusting, she and President Sysiphus are 2 peas in a pod.

  4. sorry, Sisyphus

  5. Just WHY do we spend money on Louisiana rebuilding such a non-productive state?

Maybe Louisiana should in fact encourage it’s citizens to move to Texas since Louisiana is such a dismal failure?

  6. Mary, Mary, quite contrary, I think it’s time for you to ‘step down so someone else can have power.’

  7. Sorry Senator, but when I see politicians paid off for their vote with taxpayer money, I EXPECT everyone to bitch about it. If you can’t take the heat in the kitchen Senator, please exit the premises.

  8. This whining loser is getting exactly what she deserves and telling everyone to ‘keep their mouths shut’ will just make it worse. Sorry I don’t live in LA to work for her recall. She’s beyond horrible!

  9. It is Miss Mary’s problem. Not the Republican Party.

  10. Please!!! Every state’s situation is unique. What a blow hard!

  11. Does she look disheveled? This all must be getting to her.

  12. She reminds me soooo very much of one William Jefferson – currently cooling his jets in a federal penitentiary – whose entire family was involved in his totally corrupt politics. He, too, denied to the bitter end that he did anything wrong with hundreds of thousands of OUR dollars.

This Senator belongs in the same jail. And that goes for ANY Senator of ANY political persuasion who is found to be corrupt.

  13. Sure seems like “the lady doth protest too much.” This is the same crew who never went to bed without attacking President Bush with scurrilous lies at least once in any given 24 hour period. Too bad landrieu finds the light shown on the *FACTS* of her corruption so disturbing. NOT.

  14. She talks about the people of her State as if she rules over them. “When they are good, I praise them”.
Who the hell does this self-appointed Queen this she is? Oh, wait. I just answered that.

If the people of Louisiana re-elect this arrogant beotch, then they get what they deserve.

  15. She sure reads good.

  16. Call the WAHmbulence!!

  17. “under the bus….”????

Maybe the wrong choice of words for New Orleans…. don’t ya think?

  18. This must be an example of the new “civility” the left is calling for.

Good to know that “shut up” is still on the table.

  19. If there was ever someone who met the lies cheats and steals Democrat template best, haven’t found a better one.

    Dead Dem walking.

I don’t think Democrats get the whole ‘representative republic’ or ‘consent of the governed’ thing. What ever happened to truth, honor and your sacred word?

These people value their seat in the politburo more than life itself. And they follow the Democrat doctrine when they get to Washington. 2009 was the very best illustration of that we have ever had. Arrogant … There isn;t no such thing as a moderate Democrat when it comes to towing the party line.

  20. It time for her to get a real job, befit not so good.

  21. As Shakespeare once wrote, “Me thinks thou dost protest to much.”

Dear Mary Landrieu, it may have been that your state and its political class wanted special treatment(as evidenced by your big ol letter) because you in New Orleans are vulnerable to hurricanes and floods due to building your largest city below sea level. You and LA’s other politicians may believe the other 49 states should be responsible for LA’s “special circumstances.” However, the US taxpayer has already supplied billions of dollars to rebuild New Orleans and your state.

Now you want $300 million more in taxpayer money from the rest of the country so your “special circumstances” can be alleviated and your state wont have to be responsible for its share of Medicaid costs, in return for the extra dough you give your vote to Obamacare. Now that voters are on to your quid pro quo scheme and recognize a political pay off when we see it and call you out on your behavior, you suddenly get your panties in a bunch and whine that everyone should just “keep their mouths shut. However, after you made your deal with the “devil” and sold your vote you then came out and bragged that it wasn’t 100 million as originally reported, it was 300 million.

This quote from the WAPO might help to refresh your memory regarding just how self-satisfied you were with the deal you had struck; “And so it came to pass that Landrieu walked onto the Senate floor mid-afternoon Saturday to announce her aye vote — and to trumpet the financial “fix” she had arranged for Louisiana. “I am not going to be defensive,” she declared. “And it’s not a $100 million fix. It’s a $300 million fix.” We all know the “Louisiana Purchase” was a pay off for your vote regardless of how many other Louisiana politicians want special treatment. I suggest that next time you think twice about crying on C-span and just “keep your mouth shut!”

  22. Senator Mary Landrieu doesn’t seem to understand that she is NOT being criticized for requesting help for the state of Louisiana. The problem is she bragged about selling her “yes” vote for the health care bill in exchange for $300 million aid to her state. To many of us, that is considered akin to prostitution.

And I thought prostitution was legal only in Nevada. It appears that it is also legal in Washington D. C.

  23. Landreiu should have had this playing in the background while she ranted and raved. She would have attracted a larger audience.

Your Jolie Blon days are way past, lady, so why don’t you kindly “shet yo mouf” and go home?

  24. David, got family in Texas. After Katrina many did go to and stay in Texas. That is why the crime rate shot up in Houston,Dallas and other big cities. New Orleans needed to be flushed. We even have 10,000 plus here in Atlanta. Even saw a billboard for Mayor Ray Nagan (chocolate city) here in Atlanta. They let the displaced New Orleans citizens vote a year after moving to another state. Lousey anna is just a symptom of what needs to happen and it will happen all over the country this November

  25. “I’ve spent 30 years of my life trying to represent the people of my state and make them look good. Even when they were wrong

This is a perfect illustration of nanny-statism at the personal level. The dumb rubes need her to guide them along and cover for them, while she cluck-clucks like a self-sacrificing mother hen over the hoi polloi.

And why does the Senate have to hear about her back-home problems? Shouldn’t she have had a town hall meeting with her constituents?

    What a crybaby.

  26. Louisiana’s case is UNIQUE. It sucks worse than any other state. You are correct Senator Landrieu.

The people are so stupid that they re-elected New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin. Heck, the Mayor and his family were living in Houston while the hapless welfare slaves (citizens) of New Orleans were flopping around in their own waste inside the StuporDome.

It is so UNIQUE the news media passed along horrific stories of violence and abuse inside the StuporDome without verifying them. Heck, this is New Orleans, it must be true!

Poor Houston is now having trouble getting this human slag heap to move back to UNIQUE Louisiana.

Maybe UNIQUE can be the new state motto.

  27. From the looks of her, she appears to have a problem keeping her mouth shut.

  28. Mary dear.. why don’t you get under the bus
(though it might total the bus.)
You sold out for obamacare like Cornhusker Ben.
    Admit it and resign!

  29. She turns the argument to “how she is protecting her people” instead of how she took in free money for her vote. This is either because she has become so corrupt she doesn’t understand what she did is offensive to the rest of America. Or she is doing her level best to deflect the criticism because she lied and does need the job that badly.

Somebody should look at her books.

  30. I wonder how many under the table deals, She has received during her glories 30 years of service!

  31. Assuming she’s right that the other senators know nothing about the situation in LA, how then can she know about the situations of the other 49 (or 56) states of the Union? Or is she talking about the Republican senators who were not allowed into the discussions? I hope someone questioned her about 6:00.

  32. before 6:00

  33. Louisiana is UNIQUE in that it has the same electoral system as France, so loser nobodies like mayors like Nagin and Chirac can get re-elected on absurd levels of support of 17% of the vote.

  34. How stupid does this moron think we are. Nice try Mary conflating these issues. Getting all choked up about how you helped Lousiana does not excuse your Yes vote on healthcare.
Yes, you sold out the country and had hoped to be seen as a hero.
    sorry. Buh Bye.

  35. Oh by the way senator, that letter you put on display does not indicate support for the healthcare reform bill, so please SHUT UP and stop misrepresenting the postions of the rest of your delegation. Signing that letter did not mean “oh please get this medicaid fix for our state even if it means that ObamaCare should pass”.

  36. So you either speak to her on her terms, or you are suppose to shut up…… a tad arrogant me thinks.

I wonder who determines whether she is right or she is wrong….her? “Don’t tell me if I am right or if I am wrong.” “I’ll tell you when I am right or when I am wrong.”

  37. “Good morning, class.
    Good morning, class.
    Class?
    Class!?
    SHUT UUUUP!!!!!
    Thank you.”–(Sister Mary Elephant)

  38. Hmmmmmmmm…I guess she was rode hard and put away wet.

  39. 30 years of living off the taxpayers “serving” the people. Seriously, 30 years….Lady, move on. Those jobs were never meant for “career” politicians but statesmen, not lifetime feeding from the teat of others.

That 30 years remark struck me, too. No one works 30 years at the same job in the private sector anymore. And since, as you posted, Senate positions were never meant for lifetime politicians (in the beginning, they weren’t even supposed to be jobs in the sense that we know jobs to be), 30 years is waaaayyyyy toooo looooonnnng. She doesn’t need to throw herself under the bus; she should have gotten off the bus many stops back.

  41. <>

I must thank her because now we on the right can say it
“SHUT UP, MARY YOU LEFTIST PUPPET ”
oooooh that’s fun Now everyone all together…

    hey —TO-GET-HER I like it.

We could have ” SHUT-UP” in prision for fraud

we could “SHUT” -off the wasted money to her projects. and on and on

  42. Oh, they’re making poor lil’ ol’ Landrieu cry. As my younger sister told our now-ex sister-in-law when she told sis to stop fussing at her for being disrespectful of sis in sis’s home because it was making her cry, “Cry your f***ing eyes out, then.”

  43. The left has gotten so used to compliant silence from the normal people over the years that now when the normal people are speaking up, the immediate instinct from the left is to simply tell us to “shut up” and apparently think that makes sense. Classy! What a bunch of losers. They’ve never had to compete in the arena of ideas and they just can’t deal with a riled up population which is beginning to speak up. Shut up? Nope. Ain’t gonna happen.

  44. What a liar. Corruption is corruption, plain and simple. Just because it’s supposedly for the good of her constituents doesn’t make it right. She sold her vote. It’s that simple. She held out for cold hard cash, and she isn’t ashamed to admit it. She needs to be dragged out of office and publicly punished.

  45. Who was criticizing the State of Louisiana? These Dems speak victimese, not English. Republican delay of the dreadful Sebelius means she’d have gotten the money sooner? It’s all our fault for making her look bad? She’s going down.
