Of course, Rush is right…
Rush Limbaugh warned Republican members of Congress that Obama’s invite to the White House for talks on health care is a trap.

Of course it a trap. The only way it can be done is to start at ground floor, they are some bad stuff in that bill that we don”t want .Republican should stay away unless the bill is throw away,90%of indep.and rep.Don”t want any part of it.So just said no Hell No.
djdjdjjj commented:
Republicans should only agree to do it IF they totally start from scratch.

Dougf commented:
Well –Duh.
Of course it is a trap. And like the short-term thinkers they are I fully expect the Republicans to claim that they ‘see’ the problem, and then tumble right on into it.
Because they are not very bright.
And compounding that little intellectual deficit problem, they have NO PLANS. And don’t bore me with those golden oldies they always trot out, namely:
A. Tort Reform.
B. Inter-State Competition.
C. Tax Credits for Health Insurance.
These are Ok ideas and should be pursued BUT they don’t really address either of the BIG Issues. Cost & Availability.
Tort reform has been estimated to maybe ‘save’ 5-10 Billion over an extended time period. Inter -State Competition would maybe save a little as well, and tax credits for Health Insurance would help the individual WHILE bleeding more revenue from the State, at a time whne the deficits are already threatening the stability of the Republic. And what use is a tax credit to someone who pays no taxes, but has no Health Insurance ?
We all know what is required to get the costs down and allow more people to have coverage. We just don’t want to face up to those HARD decisions. The Democrats don’t want to and neither do the Republicans.
If the Republicans wander into this killing zone they will be eviscerated in public.
Again.
Robert commented:
Even if they incorporated Republican ideas into the bill, we would still have a massive bill with massive federal expansion into the health sector.
It is not the bill that is unacceptable, it is the the very idea. The federal government has no constitutional authority to provide health care.
The Triguy commented:
I heard Rush talk about this. He’s right. Under no circumstances should they meet with him.
By the way, if being bipartisan is so important to him, why didn’t President Present demand that Pelosi and Reid invite Republicans into the original discussions rather than freeze them out?
Blue Collar Todd commented:
A caller had a good idea. He said the GOP should accept with a Reagan like demand: Mr. Obama tear down the ObamaCare bill, and then they will meet about jobs.
Posting this with my iPhone by the way. At the drive- thru for some In and Out.

They should take this offer as an opportunity to expose BO and the Dems for the untrustworthy punks they are.
First, tell BO the American people have made it abundantly clear they reject BO and his party. Remind them of Scott Brown. In Massachusetts.
Then enjoy the next few hours of detailing the broken promises, lies, bribes, backroom deals, etc. this administration routinely engages in.
No bill of any kind should pass this Congress. Tell BO that he and his pals are completely untrustworthy — that only a fool would deal with them.
It’s about time Team BO learned the consequences of bad behavior.

If the Repubs fall for this, then we deserve a third party.

Sorry, guys, we’ve learned we can’t play with you. When you’re gone and more ethical people are in Congress, then we’ll talk about it.

GOP needs to just say “HELL NO”, we all need to say hell no to this televised prop for future campaign commercials.
Also this is just cover for Obama to keep the unions quiet temporarily.
Why give them the time of day. I hope it blizzards that day;, or the building has an electrical malfunction!!!
Jerry Magliano commented:
Obama has given the Republicans a great opening to put him in a corner regarding his priorities which are not those of the American people. They should respectfully decline the invitation to debate health care reform at the present time but argue for a discussion of strategies for the most urgent issue in the minds of most Americans which is economic and job growth. They could agree to a health care discussion later but only after a bipartisan approach has been agreed to regarding the economy and jobs. This would demonstrate once again that Republicans get it and Obama still does not.
John commented:
What the republicans should do is tell the Administration that they will not have a healthcare summit but instead invite The administration to the house to have meaningful Jobs summit..(with camara’s of course).

80% of Americans disapprove of the job the Democratic Congress is doing. So now Obama wants Republicans to share the blame or risk being the party of no. Pubbies should say proudly no sir WE ARE THE PARTY OF HELL NO.
sandy commented:
There is no way that Healthcare can be done this year — its too late. Anything Obama wants to do with Republicans now is nothing more than sharing the blame with the Dems.
sandy commented:
If I were a top Republican I would say to Obama. We will be happy to meet with you when Americans have jobs and when we can start the Healthcare Bill from scratch. Meanwhile don’t let the door hit you where the Good Lord split you.

1) Please won’t you help us spend $2.5 trillion we don’t have?
2) Please won’t you join us in enraging the independent voters and your base?
3) Please won’t you believe that if I will agree with any of your policies, I can get Senator Reid and the Speaker to enact it?
4) Please help me take over the health care industry?
5) Please help me feel better about my repeated violations of my transparency campaign promises, hence, appearing on TV today?
6) Please help me out of this wheel-chair I’ve put myself in, after I broke my own back on health care reform?
7) Please help me appear as if I am listening to you and the American people?
8 ) Please help me force employers drop their employee health benefit and force workers into the government run health care system — er, exchange?
9) Please, please help me fund abortions with taxpayer dollars?
10) Please help me give illegals health benefits, paid for by citizens?
11) Please help me tax health insurance premiums, but not for my pals, the unions?
12) Please help me set up an “exchange” to control all aspects of every health insurance policy we will let an insurer sell?
13) Please help me cut Medicare by half a trillion dollars, and use it to fund the destruction of our health care system?
14) Please help me force every American to buy health insurance — whether they can afford it or not?
15) Please help me pay for my government take over of health care by taxing the young and the married?
16) Please help me empower the Secretary of HHS to put restrictions on Health Savings Accounts?
17) Please help me create a health care database that tracks gun ownership?
18) Please help me put the government in charge of rationing care?
19) Please help me feed the moral arrogance of Democrats by allowing me to lecture you and the American people on health care one more time?

” ‘Bipartisanship’ is not writing proposals of your own behind closed doors, then unveiling them and demanding Republican support. Bipartisan ends require bipartisan means. These questions are also designed to try and make sense of the widening gap between the President’s rhetoric on bipartisanship and the reality. We cannot help but notice that each of the President’s recent bipartisan overtures has been coupled with harsh, misleading partisan attacks. For instance, the President decries Republican ‘obstruction’ when it was Republicans who first proposed bipartisan health care talks last May. “
