Democrats and the state-run media are running another coordinated attack on Republicans. The two are defending the failed stimulus plan that only 6% of Americans believe created jobs. They’re also lashing out at Republican Representatives for taking the Stimulus cash in their districts even though they voted against the massive $862 billion bill.
Just 6% of Americans believe the $787 “stimulus” boondoggle created any jobs according to a recent New York Times/CBS poll.

Just 6%.
Hyper-partisan far left Speaker Nancy Pelosi is the latest democrat to attack Republicans by name for accepting stimulus money in their districts.
(Is this the best they got?… How pathetic.)
The Politico reported:
Pelosi, in an e-mail from spokesman Nadeam Elshami, pointed out Thursday that the legislation gave 282,000 of Minority Whip Eric Cantor’s constituents tax cuts, in addition to providing tax breaks to Republican Reps. Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, Scott Garrett of New Jersey and Tom Rooney of Florida.
The Pelosi offensive is part of a coordinated effort between the White House, the Democratic National Committee and congressional Democrats, (and the state-run media) who say they’re tired of being on the defensive on the stimulus. Pelosi’s office will follow up in the coming days by releasing reports from economists, will put forward experts in various sectors to talk about jobs created, and will continue to show which Republican districts they believe benefited from the stimulus.
“We’re coordinating on all cylinders now — we’re not going to let up,” a Democratic aide said.
Hogwash.
What Speaker Pelosi forgot to mention in her email was that Democratic Districts won twice as much stimulus cash as conservative districts.
Maybe she thinks democratic districts should get to keep all the stimulus cash?
FOX News reported:
Democratic districts have received nearly twice as much stimulus money as Republican districts and the cash has been awarded without regard to how badly an area was suffering from job losses, according to a new study.
The Mercatus Center at George Mason University reviewed the distribution of $157 billion in stimulus dollars based on publicly available reports and found that there was “no statistical correlation” between the amount of money a district got and its income or unemployment rate.
“You would think, right, that if the administration believes in its theory that government money can create jobs, they would spend a lot of money in districts that have high unemployment,” study co-author Veronique de Rugy said. “We found absolutely no relationship. It just kind of shows that the money is spent kind of randomly.”
Rather, the study found that Democratic congressional districts received 1.89 times more money than GOP districts. The average award for Democratic districts was $439 million, while the average award for Republican ones was $232 million.
On average, Democratic districts also got 152 awards, while Republican ones got 94.
For some reason Speaker Pelosi forgot to mention this in her email.
No doubt, the state-run media will forget to mention this in their reports, too.

They were all against the Bush tax cuts, too….but you damned well know they took them!!

Several Governors refused the Stimulus Funds. Gov. Palin was one of those. But it was the Liberals in the state house that voted around her and got the money, as it went in those ‘other GOP Districts’.
So the Liberals blamed the Governors for not taking the money, and now blame them for taking it.
Maybe Pelosi would like to mention why all the car dealerships got closed in only GOP Districts, since she is one the subject of ‘who got what and when’.

It has been the home of political lunacy and a cesspool since it appeared as a Gold Rush era carbuncle on the posterior of the California.

Nancy, you “know” that global warming is destroying the planet but you still fly to Copenhagen and other parts of the world in your private liquor cabinet.
Why aren’t YOU living in a green tract house and driving a Prius to work?
By the way, weren’t there a couple of (R) governors who wanted to reject the money and were told that they would be required to accept it?

Wow, Nancy Pelosi, Team Obama, Harry Reid, etc., were supposed to be focused on creating JOBS with supreme focus. What happened?
Remember when Mr. Obama was talking about Bi-Partisanship, after he told everyone “he won”?
Seems the Democrats know full well their Stimulus-PORK joke to reward their own interests, robbing the taxpayer again, is an utter disaster.
Instead of trying to get the job done, they are returning to Partisan Hackery.
Big dose of Reality?
Mrs. Pelosi, you and your Party has held the Majority in Congress since 2006. Since then the USA has sunk into a painful recession and you have made matters far worse.
The Democratic Party take over of the White House only grew the disaster we see today.
Mrs. Pelosi is now, without a doubt, the WORST SPEAKER the US Congress has ever encountered.
Nancy Pelosi is an American tragedy.
Time for her to resign, or we will have to CHANGE the status disaster in Washington this 2010.

President Blunder touched on this yesterday in one of his many televised speeches when he attempted a bit of humor that those Republicans who voted against this had no problem showing up at ribbon cuttings for projects financed by this boondoggle.
It’s about the PEOPLE’s money stupid. You’re not pissing away just Democrat’s money. If we are having it forced down our throats we might as well take a bite to keep from choking.
Neo commented:
We could throw the idea that they kept their own cash and didn’t keep sending cash to the public treasury in regard to the Bush tax cuts, but we all know that Democrats of any stature don’t pay taxes.

Yeah, whatever. If these reps hadn’t accepted the stimulus money, the Baltimore Mafia Bint and her cronies would be saying that the Republicans were deliberately trying to sabotage their local economies out of spite.
This is political kabuki theater, nothing more.

This needs to be a wake-up to the Republicans to, once-and-for-all, jettison ALL talk about “reaching across aisle,” and “bi-partisanship.”
Quit playing Charlie Brown trying to kick the football.

It’s such a stupid meme. Republicans can fight against it and vote against it, but at the end of the day, in our system the majority rules. The majority voted for porkulus – it would be pretty silly for the republicans to say “OK, you can force us to pay for this, but you can’t make us take it.” And Pelosi et al know this, but they can’t resist trying to turn EVERYTHING into political points- maybe because the media has always shielded them from consequences. But as a young bard once sang, “The times they are a’changing.”

A realistic way to look at this:
“Has not, but will create jobs….41%”
41% of Americans believe everything the Liberal talking heads tell them on television morning shows.
At least that number is in decline as well, but that should be the sad fact of the poll, because that’s exactly the meme being pushed by the MSM and the Dems.
sandy commented:
There was no way this stimulus money could be rejected. It was forced on the states and if the Governors refused then Obama forced the State Legislators to take the money. Pelosi sounds totally desperate as she sees her power declining. If this is the best you have Pelosi then your leadership is toast in November.

If we use liberal logic, then they shouldn’t be taking Defense appropriation money of any type. Yet, Murtha, Boxer, Norm Dicks, Inouye, et al are more than happy to take that cash for dubious projects.

I once made my child refuse a cash gift (because of “my” principles) which meant I had to give him the money myself. My child (constituents) should not be penalized for my “principles” even when they agree and particularly if they don’t.
But more importantly as others have noted, everyone has to pay it back.
