Loudmouth democratic hater Alan Grayson traveled to Niger this week. While he was there a military coup broke out. Several members of the president’s guard were killed by the military and the democratic president was taken into custody. Grayson could hear the gunshots in the building next door.
Being a good democrat, he cut-and-run from the country.

Grayson has a reputation for stirring up trouble wherever he goes.
Digital Journal reported:
The embattled representative from the state of Florida, Alan Grayson found himself on the verge of being caught in a coup in Niger earlier this week.
Alan Grayson, the often outspoken Democratic Representative from Florida was on a trip to Niger earlier this week. While on his trip there was a military coup that Grayson almost found himself caught up in.
According to a Grayson’s press secretary, Todd Jurkowski, “He heard the gunshots. They were literally in the building next door.”
Grayson was serving as part of a congressional delegation that was focused on science, technology and humanitarian relief.
When the fighting and gun fire broke out Grayson was taken to the home of the United States Ambassador to Niger where he stayed with armored protection.
Grayson was in Niger on a multi-country tour for the U.S. House Science and Technology committee. The purpose of the tour was to look at how different countries respond to humanitarian crises and which techniques work best in those situations.

Hmmmm.
I cannot think of one absolutely nice thing to say about Grayson and as I shouldn’t say what I am thinking, I will say only…this story is interesting.
I WILL say, if part of this trip was focused on humanitarian relief, he should do Florida a favor and resign. Forget about Niger. Help Florida escape from his silly and insipid tirades.

So Grayson just narrrowly escaped, huh?

Did he dodge sniper fire in Niger?

Science, Technology and humanitarian relief? This country is crawling with uranium. Why are we spending money there? They have to be very wealthy as they are not picky about who they sell to. Do we give this same service to Saudi Arabia? Same difference.
Logus commented:
I wonder how much he spent on his trip on the taxpayer dime? It’s not Copenhagen, but…
Col.Smeag commented:
I guess he found out how third world country deal with humanitarian issues! A good coup can solve any oppressive dictatorship.

The first thing every American needs to know is how to pronounce the name of the country Niger. It is pronounced just the same as replacing the N with a T. as in; NY-GRR, not as you have been “learned” to speak it as ni-JEER. From this you can understand that the people from that country are Ni-gers, not ni-jeerians.
Logus commented:
For the most part, I don’t care about pronounciations unless it’s really horrible, either meant to be offensive or dumb. Ear-ahn or I-ran for Iran. Ear-ak or eye-rak for Iraq. Nee-jher or Ny-jer for Niger. I don’t care. Just don’t imply what I think you’re inferring, because if you are, you’re a moron.

And one can learn how to respond to humanitarian crises in a country like Niger??? More likely he is there to learn how to deal with Tea-parties.

Typical congressional junket. Oh look at me, look at how important I am. I’m going to Niger on a science expedition, I’m important…..look at me!
A 5 year old with a radio shack science kit will probably add more to our understanding of natural laws in the universe than Grayson’s trip to Niger.
Pathetic!

Niger Coup Covered Extensively by VOA’s French and Hausa Services
[Issoufou Mamane, a Hausa-speaking VOA reporter in Niamey, was live with on-air reports from the ground shortly after Thursday's coup when Nigerien soldiers attacked the presidential palace, seizing President Mamadou Tandja.
Squadron chief Salou Djibo leads Niger's new Supreme Council for the Restoration of Democracy. Tandja, who had been criticized since he changed the country's constitution last year to allow himself to remain in power, is reportedly being held in a military barracks outside the capital.
In Niamey, Nigers capital, VOA French-to-Africa reporter Ousman Toudou reported that the curfew has been lifted, the airport reopened and some of the cabinet ministers seized Thursday were released.]

After reading this post, I was ROFL. I guess that Democrat pu$$y found out how folks in Niger respond to humanitarian crisis. Has anyone else noticed, but these Democrats seemed to have developed (via evolution probably) really long legs – all the better to run fast when threatened by reality! I wonder if he peed his panties? I bet he can’t wait to tell his war stories in the Congressional cloakroom…rotten scumbag!
I guess we all know what this means… Representative Grayson will be introducing legislation to limit gun ownership here in America, lest we also should decide to deal with our own ‘humanitarian crisis’ in like manner.

We always said Nee-jair. In ze French manner when “i” is pronounced “ee”
Nee-jairians as opposed to NIGH-jeerians.
But when in Rome do as the Romans do. Americans usually say NIGH-jer. So what?

hmmm… gunshots right next door.. makes one wonder if this isn’t another Joe Biden under fire, or Hillary running from snipers story ? We know how those turned out.
Another thought, a Dem Socialist there visiting another self declared ‘dictator for life’ , makes one wonder if he was there to take notes for his Socialist friend on Pennsylvania Ave.
I mean the science thing has to be a smoke screen. You have to have brain cells to understand science.

That Eric just wanted to be clever in #8, in a mobyish sort of way….AoSHQ had his problems with these sorts of people, who know the where the line is, and just have to see if they can get one in, get one past the censors.
‘Cuz they’re clever.
nadadhimmi commented:
Re: #8, newscritters won’t say Niger like the word Tiger because it sounds to close to the N word. They MUST prove, time and time again how eager they are to kiss butt to “people of color”. As the newscaster said, “we like to do things that makes black people like us, it makes us feel good”. Thus, they think they prove themselves superior by acting subservient. Sound like anyone you know?? A bow here and there? Kicking a religious leader out of the White House by the garbage exit?

Niger coup – another “constitutional coup” like Honduras?
http://tinyurl.com/yzg7dl9
“.Tandja first took power in democratic elections in 1999 that followed an era of coups and rebellions. But instead of stepping down as mandated by law on Dec. 22, he triggered a political crisis by pushing through a new constitution last August that removed term limits and gave him near-totalitarian powers…

My guess is Grayson spent the whole time there trying to prove Niger produces no yellowcake, so he could show that Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson were right and Dick Cheney should still be tried, impeached (and possibly executed).

A congenital liar once used an old African saying: “It takes a village to raise a child.” I believe we can learn a lot from African culture. We can learn a lot about fixing the economy and about having universal healthcare and possibly about witchcraft, cannibalism and necklacing as well. Thank you, Rep. Grayson, for getting the information we need.
wanumba commented:
A major Hollywood star went to Sudan, one of many actors and celebrities, to evidently make himself feel relevent and look concerned while looking around. Well with actual humanitarian work going on everyone has to drop what they’re doing and escort the guy around on the slim hope the issue will get publicity and by that more support. But with fighting going on, it was a burden to … well … babysit someone who just flitted in, and they just couldn’t spare resources to let him use up time wandering about.
They gave him a stern briefing of the situation, then wondered if they’d overdone it as he huddled terrified in the vehicle, windows rolled up.
