Dale Robertson is a racist and a kook.

Robertson carried this “n*gg*r” sign at a Texas tea party in March of 2009 and was asked to leave… But he won’t go away.
Andrew Ian Dodge wrote about the Robertson problem at Pajamas Media:
Dale is very much not a hero to those who first encountered him in February of last year. He has been described as a fake, a con artist, and worse by frustrated tea party groups across the land. Houston’s, in particular, is so upset at being associated with the man that they sent out the following press release:
1. He is NOT a member of our Leadership team.
2. He owns a website with which we have never been affiliated.
3. He has never been a part of organizing any of the Tea Party rallies in the Houston area, or any other area that we can find.
4. We addressed some issues involving him back in April. Here it is on our website, where Mr. Robertson himself comments: http://houstontps.org/?p=318
5. We do not choose to associate with people that use his type of disgusting language.Robertson and his publicist encourage the MSM to consider it a mere squabble between various factions involved in the tea party movement. But quick research on the internet shows that no one in the actual tea party movement wants anything to do with the man.
Needless to say, left-wing sites have been repeatedly drawing attention to him as an example of racism in the tea party.
Even Mother Jones reported in January that Dale Robertson is not and never was a tea party leader and that the mainstream media had “lost its edge” in linking Robertson to the movement.
But, that won’t stop liberal media hacks from repeating this lie and smearing the Tea Party movement.
Today TPM Muckraker used this racist Texan again to smear the tea party movement.
‘Warning: Tea Party In Danger’: Leader Slams Palin As ‘Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing’
A prominent Tea Party leader from Texas is warning that the movement “is becoming nothing more than a wholly owned subsidiary of the Republican Party,” and slamming Sarah Palin as representing “a growing insider’s attack to the heart of the Tea Party.”
Dale Robertson, the founder of TeaParty.org, is just the latest Tea Partier to express concern that the movement is being hijacked by the GOP.
In a lengthy statement — entitled “Warning: Tea Party In Danger” — posted yesterday on the TeaParty.org homepage, Robertson instructs his felllow Tea Partiers to “[b]e alert to turncoats and deceivers being herded into the Tea Party by usurpers from the weakened Republican Party for the sole purpose of capturing our populist movement.”
TPM mentions further down in the story that there is a rift between Robertson and the Texas tea party movement. But they know better. They need to retract this story.
It is a complete lie… and they know it.

It’s in the good interess of liberals to pain the Tea Party as “racists”, specially after we saw in MS that the TP can extend well beyond the Republican party. In other words, the TP (Tea PArty) reasons to exist can atract america-loving democrat, even in states as blue as Massachussets.

Look how many IVAW turned out to have never been to Iraq and yet that did not stop the LSM from quoting them.
Tea Party For EVAH! commented:
Mr. Hoft,
You say the “liberal media” lies about the Tea Party Movement and its leaders. So where does the following quote come from?
“Leading figures in the burgeoning ‘tea party’ movement complain they are being ignored by the Republican National Committee, despite having already shown their clout in taking down moderate Republicans in a New York special House race and the Florida Republican Party hierarchy.
“‘I have called into the RNC many times, and they still haven’t called me back,’ said Dale Robertson, head of TeaParty.org, which he claims has upwards of 7 million members. ‘I’ve called them, lots of times. I called them this morning. I called them yesterday. It’s like they ignore you as they try to figure out a strategy on how to defeat you.’”
That’s right, it comes from the loathsome liberal rag, The Washington Times.

There is this from his website. Does it seem likely that he was Navy and Marines? That he was first on the scene at 9/11 and in Afghanistan??
Initially Dale served his nation first as a U.S. Marine. After completing his duties with the Corps, he reenlisted into the U.S. Navy and became a U.S. Naval Officer. During his distinguished time of service, Dale’s Battle Group was first to the scene on 9/11 as well as first to launch an offensive in Afghanistan. He was stationed on the USS Sacramento which was the life blood of the Battle Group. He faithfully served our nation with Honor and Integrity, retiring after 22 years.

Wildwood, I knew something was fishy about the U.S.S. Sacramento. Now I know what it is: the USS Sacramento is a “replenishment” ship, i.e. it brings supplies to other ships. In 2001, during Operation Enduring Freedom, it was in the South Pacific and then in 2002 was in the Phillipine Sea.
The Sacramento is not a battle ship but a supplies ship. It’s history can be found on line and it was decommissioned in 2004 (if I remember correcctly).
No one who was assigned to the Sacramento every saw duty in the Persian Gulf. It would not have been relocated to New York on 9-11 and would not have been anywhere near Afghanistan.

Can’t make any sense of that info. As a Naval Officer? Does that mean he was working office duties at the Pentagon on 9/11?
Doesn’t say HE was first to an unspecified scene, just his “Battle Group.”" What’s that?
The Navy was flying into Afghanistan, wasn’t it from the media’s favorite Naval aircraft carrier the “Diego Garcia.” (gratuitous dig at the media, which is okay since the media is somehow wrapped up with this).
The guy is tactically vague on details, but extremely adept at being the only one the MSM wants to take a picture of at a Tea Party rally.

The Sacramento was a replenishment ship that refueled the U.S.S. Vinson in the South Pacific. The Sacramento was based out of Bremerton, Wash. so there would have been no reason to have it make the trip from the Pacific to the Atlantic seaboard on 9-11 when other ships of the same class would have been located at East Coast ports.
All I have been able to find (so far) is one news report that claims the Sacrament to have aided in Operation Enduring Freedom as support to the Vinson. It was decommissioned in 2004 and sold for scrap to a Texas company in 2008 when it was towed to Texas.
But I can’t find any information on the Sacramento being anywhere near New York after 9-11. And I can’t find Robertson’s name on any muster rolls for the Sacramento.

Another odd thing about Robertson’s web site; it shows a photo of him in Marine uniform, and I would suspect it is the typical boot camp graduation photo. If you notice, there are no ribbons (even campaign ribbons) on his blouse.
He claims to have been a USN officer. Why would a 40′s something man who was a Naval office only offer up a photo of himself as a Marine boot graduate in his early 20′s? Would not the position of officer be more impressive than just being a ordinary grunt?

After taking both images into Photoshop, I fully believe that the one on his website is the doctored one. It’s also the only one of that version I’ve been able to find. A large version image of the racial slur does not look doctored but if you look at the “sinner” version, the word “sinner” extends all the way to the edge of the sign. The racial slur sign definitely has the word written on a white paper and taped to the sign. But the edge of the sign is clear and there is no writing there. Also, the doctored version (sinner) still has the silver tape at the bottom.
This guy is definitely a nutjob.
