Wow! Who’dah thunk it?
The SEIU Purple People Beaters were out campaigning for Scott Brown.

Stacy McCain (on the ground in Massachusetts) has more photos of the SEIU Brown supporters.

More… Reaganite Republican has a roundup of the Coakley meltdown.

UPDATE: Jules Crittenden describes the scene for Obama’s big Sunday speech… They’re expecting rain turning to snow.

  1. IT’S A TRAP!

  2. I’m somewhat leaning towards the sentiment of Admiral Ackbar’s comment.

Unless this is because SEIU didn’t get the memo that cadillac health plans (union) are EXEMPT from the tax.
I bet if someone politely told them this, they would
    1. express incredulity
    2. look puzzled
    3. lower their Scott Brown signs
    4. pull out of their Coakley signs from their back pockets.
    5. start pushing Brown supporters around.

  3. This is too good to be true.

    Are these guys serious?

  4. Red sox’s fans are more loyal to their team than their union.

  5. These guys are trolls. A trap.

  6. Wow. I guess the latest cold snap even froze Hell over.

Their exemptions from the Cadillac Tax is only for a few years. Then they get hit along with everyone else. The rank and file know this.

  7. This is not to be trusted…………

danger, danger, will robinson (scott brown), danger

  8. When it comes to pushing back on your oppressive masters, when it rains, it pours.

  9. SEIU going rogue.

  10. “Wow. I guess the latest cold snap even froze Hell over.”

    Has anyone seen Gore lately?

  11. Are you sure this isn’t photoshoped???

  12. Somebody with a sense of humor could of just handed them the signs.

  13. Meanwhile their dues is paying for TV ads for Coakley.

  15. They are trolls. See these marching orders from Dear Leader to Organizing for America: http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2010/01/obama-orders-lemmings-to-troll-talk-radio-for-health-care-disaster.html

If he’s doing this to talk radio, can you imagine what he’ll do to the opponents of his chosen flunkies?

  16. don’t you believe these guys…It is cover.

  17. “It’s a trap.” + “trolls”

    Maybe I’m thick.

What would be the purpose of a subterfuge here? Whaddaya mean? Trolls, to what end?

    Please elaborate.

  18. Tom, cover for WHAT exactly?

People who have theories should elaborate on them instead of hinting at them with codespeak.

  19. Following the popular presumption that this is a trap, what’s the point of the trap?

Phase 1: Get SEIU members photographed holding signs supporting Brown.

    Phase 2: ?

    Phase 3: Profit!

  20. Perhaps you mean, these SEIU members (or, at least people wearing SEIU gear…) are holding signs advertising Brown so that they can give the public the perception that they are not a partisan organization?

I could see that being the case.

  21. SEIU guys just thought that Brown is the head union guy for UPS and have no idea that he is the Republican Senate candidate.

  22. Phase 1: Get SEIU members photographed holding signs supporting Brown.
Phase 2: Have them invite a buncha Brown supporters to an after-party at which beatings will be served and cement overshoes will be fitted.
Phase 2b: Get checks from TARP for services performed.
    Phase 3: Profit!!

  24. Theory: Brown will need all the independent voters he can get. Most indys, if they’re anything like me, find SEIU to be totally disgusting. SEIU, while slightly higher on the IQ scale than say imbeciles know they are despised. Therefore try to tar Brown with their stink. That’s all I got.

  25. They’re out hunting those union guys who were paid to support Coakley, but who voiced their anonymous support for Brown.

  26. Found this link in “comments” section of Bg’s first link above — some interesting/encouraging info on what’s happening:

    http://www.flemingandhayes.com

…it’s posted by commenter “SEIU” at the $50 (Bg link) above.

This person took pics and talked to the people and they’re definitely Brown supporters, not happy with their union supporting Coakley. More good pics and video – especially as Clinton motorcade leaves the townhall with Brown supporters all around. Some – foreign? – guy (Coakley supporter) escorted away from it by SS…

  27. LIBERAL MA PAPER “CAPE COD TIMES” ENDORSES BROWN:
    http://www.redmassgroup.com/diary/6660/cape-cod-times-endorses-scott-brown

  28. Its demoncrat socialist propaganda. SEIU is showing their diobolical sinister side.

  29. Why are they doing this?

  30. Nah…I think you only got part of the story. These guys have been stealing Brown lawn signs, and they’re reporting back with their haul.

  31. Purple People Beaters…LOL! It’s funny, but I’m going to have that song stuck in my head for the rest of the day, now.

Any comments left at blogs can’t be taken at face value. ACORN has paid blog trolls. Easy enough to change their marching orders for a few days if SEIU is up to something.

  32. I call them the Purple Pension Eaters.

  33. Maybe at just the right moment – they’ll unzip their skin to reveal lizzard people. The Bible says that demons can masquerade in different forms.

    nice find!!

my heads still spinning from that anti-Republican ad
(or whatever the stupid (fitb) was supposed to be)..

    ==

  35. I called my preacher and suggested that his sermon tomorrow should be “Hell Has Frozen Over!”

  36. I’m more inclined to believe that’s some Purple creep waving around a bloody scalp, which they stole off someone’s lawn as proof of their valour for the Cause. Counting coup.

  37. Maybe those morons are so stupid they can’t read and a prankster handed them the signs.

  38. There are people who are forced into unions in order to keep or get a job. They are subjected to:
said union taking their money and offering no input as to where a lot the dues go,

the union backing employees who do not deserve a job

    unions being run by radicals

A lot of members are not whack jobs but good honest Americans fed up with business as usual and are letting the union know.

  39. It seems unethical for this union to determine the direction of ALL of the political moneys from its members. Notwithstanding the fact that, in representing public employees, the union advocates against the interests of the larger public. There is an inherent conflict of interest here that lends itself to political coercion of its members to the detriment of the public, which funds the salaries from which the union draws its dues.

Now we also have the action of the unions trying to get themselves exemptions from the taxing under the health care regime. This puts Obama in the position of using purely political considerations to levy taxes against subgroups of the American population.

  40. These people will be fired on Monday.

  41. This is unbelievable. Straight out of an old Frank Capra movie. I looked at the headline and thought it said the SEIU was rallying against Brown. Obama is going to be furious with his frequent White House visitor the head of the SEIU.

justbob, I never considered that. I just assumed that they were a bunch of lefturds, happy to finally have been able to, with the help of their buds at ACORN, put their chosen one in office. You may very well be right about the SEIU workers with the Scott Brown signs. Thanks for sharing that here.

  43. Union members are not all, or even mainly, thuggish automatons. They are our fellow American citizens and they have a stake in the country not collapsing, as do the rest of us. Welcome back the Reagan Democrats. Behold a second American Revolution arises in MA.

  44. SEIU membership is basically mandatory for some jobs. The leadership of SEIU is monolithic but there are some members who don’t like the SEIU but have to pay dues anyway.

SEIU is hated by several other unions also because of their hardball tactics.
