At least they don’t have to worry about their welcome home party…
Al Qaeda members and supporters in Yemen held a massive rally just days before the attempted plane bombing on a Delta flight from The Netherlands to Detroit.

Barack Obama’s Terrorism czar John Brennan announced today that some Gitmo detainees will be sent back to Yemen.
CNN reported:

The United States still intends to send some Yemeni detainees at the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, facility back to Yemen despite a terrorist threat there, President Barack Obama’s terrorism czar said Sunday.

John Brennan, the assistant to the president for homeland security and counter-terrorism, said on CNN’s “State of the Union” that the failed Christmas Day terror attack on a U.S. airliner doesn’t change the plan to close the Guantanamo facility.

On Saturday, Obama linked the airline bombing suspect to an al Qaeda affiliate based in Yemen.

Brennan called the failed attack on a Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam, Netherlands, to Detroit, Michigan a “unique incident” that won’t affect the process of closing the Guantanamo facility.

More… The Terror Czar also wants to give undie bomber a sweet deal if he talks… since they won’t be waterboarding him anytime soon.

  1. Yes sir “there is no such thing as a bad boy” you have to give them a second chance.//

  2. here is my latest post about 2010 being the year of security.

    http://truthandcommonsense.com/2010/01/03/the-question-of-the-new-year-can-partisan-democrats-be-allowed-to-handle-national-security/

The question is a simple one, should democrats be allowed to run national security with their almost psychotic reverence to their worldview. They cannot admit they are wrong, even faced with harsh evidence. It is a disease of the mind and soul in my opinion.

Over at Restate more than one poster and I’ll bet a few here also feel Obama’s crew would like nothing more than chaos and fear because in that environment people with a goal and focus can move quickly. This is the Mao approach to revolution. Here’s his quote from my post:

“Don’t be afraid of people making trouble. The bigger the trouble gets, the longer it lasts, the better. Trouble again and again, on and on- something is bound to come out of it!”

Like I said in earlier posts, I am surprised we aren’t hit more often domestically, but I sure it is coming. The terrorists have been given the new rule book by Obama and have read it. On foreign soil, we’ll drop a Hellfire on you, but if you attack here, you get a lawyer for free. Krauthhammer calls this madness. He’s right.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/12/31/AR2009123101744.html

No matter what their intent was, the result of Obama’s new policy will be the deaths of civilians somewhere. He’ll refuse to accept responsibility for it, but it will be his no matter what. Stupid or arrogant, who knows. If you get killed by a terrorist I guess the “why” doesn’t really matter, does it.

  3. I’m sorry, but this is beyond ridiculous!!! Instead of questioning him when first arrested (as a terrorist), they will now cut a deal with him to get something they could have got for free!!! Way to go idiots!

  4. Someone should tell the Terrorism Czar that his job is to prevent terrorism, not cause terrorism!

  5. The justice system for our enemies is an extension of the same lax system used to “punish” law breaking citizens.

No enemy of the U.S. FEARS the U.S.

We have no authority and no leverage, because we refuse to use the means within our power to deal with terrorists.

The ball bomber should be chilling down at Gitmo right now in his waterboarding nook.

Just like the Gitmo “detainees” being brought to Illinois, this guy will not be executed or serve a life term. The U.S. taxpayers will be providing 3 hots (halal, of course) and a cot (prayer mat, that is) and he’ll be out in less than a decade. If anyone here sees a different scenario, chime in…

  6. According to Scheurer on CNN today, Brennan is the one who allowed bin Laden to get away in 1998 under Clinton. He said one of the CIA agents who was killed this week had bin Laden in his sights but Brennan let him go.

  7. This is all distraction and misdirection away from the main threat to our country and way of life, which is not in Amsterdam, Nigeria or Yemen.

The most dangerous threats are the house of representatives, senate, commie bloggers, and the white house.

  8. join religion of radicals

    1)train as suicide bomber
    2)attempt to blow up plane
    3)get arrested
4)make deal with retarded American government
    5)get early release

    rinse, repeat

    what could possibly go wrong?

  9. It’s the Pantywaist-in-Chief vs. the Pantybomber. Is it really true that they could make a deal with the panty-guy to get information? America is in dire trouble, if this is true. God help us…

  10. I am stunned.

We’re releasing terrorists–back to a country that is becoming, if it is not already, the No. 1 al-Qaeda hotspot/training-ground.

Evidently these Dems all have a suicide wish. Problem is: I have not given my permission for them to take me and my kids down with them!

The head people in the U.S. government right now are people who HATE this country–meaning you, me and our kids. They are wantonly risking our lives. They are wrecking the economy so that we may not earn a livelihood. They are doing their best to abridge our First Amendment rights by shutting down freedom of the airwaves.

When I am compare the growing list of outrages to the grievances of the colonists against Britain that are enumerated in the Declaration of Independence, I am seeing less and less contrast. Granted, they’re not yet quartering troops in our homes–but they’re violating our privacy and threatening our families in all kinds of other ways.

Our Founders did not take up arms until ALL OTHER AVENUES had failed. I guess what I’m trying to figure out right now is: What are some of those other avenues that we haven’t tried yet? For heaven’s sake, let’s consider trying them as soon as possible!

    Some possibilities:

    — Massive, 2- and 3-million-strong rallies in Washington. Every month. If it gets bad enough, every week.

    — Massive civil disobedience in the form of non-payment of taxes. We need to figure out how to pull this off without getting sent to jail or having all our property seized and thereby abandoning our children and leaving them unprovided for. We’d have to have many millions of people doing it–enough that the sheer numbers would prevent them from being able to jail us all. Anyone with ideas on this, please share.

    — General strikes. A general strike is a day when the whole country (or at least a vast majority of it) refuses to go to work, buy or sell anything, travel, or transact any exchange of work or money whatsoever. Basically, you paralyze the country for a day. Or more.

    — Huge nationwide days of fasting and prayer. I am convinced that the big public all-day stadium gathering for 24 hours of fasting and prayer that they did in California is what defeated Proposition 8. We are in a spiritual war, and, as our Master told us, some things can only be cast out with fasting and prayer.

Please add your suggestions. We really need to start talking about this. Read about Gandhi and the nonviolent independence struggle in India. Read about the American civil rights movement. There needs to be MAJOR, MASSIVE actions—and quickly, folks. The Dems are committing national suicide, and if their self-hating death wishes are fulfilled, millions of us others will die, too.

Only by the grace of God–perhaps because it was Christmas Day–were we spared from calamity in Detroit. There are more of ‘em coming–our enemies have promised that–and we may not be so lucky in the near future.

  11. I see according to our Terrorism (Man Caused Disaster) Czar, the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor would be a ‘unique incident’ that should not have affected Japan-US relations; same with the 9/11 ‘unique incidents’ at the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Those surely should not have affected US Afghanistan relations.
The Soviet blockade of Berlin in 1961? For shame, such a ‘unique incident’ should not have affected negatively US Soviet relations.
And the North Korean attack on South Korea, why just a unique incident that we blew all out of proportion.
Since an Arab prince in Saudi Arabia was blown to bits in August 2009 by an undies bomber, and a plane was almost blown to bits in December 2009 by an undies bomber, perhaps the super sophisticated Czar Brennan, could inform us how there could be two ‘unique incidents’? Perhaps he could tell us how many more are to come?
Oh, we can’t have that info because we gave Miranda rights and lawyers to the latest undies bomber.
But I’m sure if we get hit a few times by undies bombers in the next four months, each attack will be a ‘unique incident’ which should have no dire consequences for US Yemeni relations, or against Al Queda. After all a ‘unique incident’ must mean these are ‘rogue operations’ not really sanctioned by AQ.

  12. Saw this guy today being interviewed by Chris Wallace. He is definitely a Useful Idiot, and I wondered if the Hussein Admin is threatening his family if he appears unsupportive. In a very articulate way, he sounded totally illiterate to the issues.

  13. Brennan should be waterboarded…Sending Yemeni prisoners back to Yemen to re-join the jihad and possibly/probably kill more Americans is treasonous. Closing Gitmo for political expediance is treason…Making a deal with a terrorist is treason…This man needs to be led away in handcuffs. He is so stupid that he is a danger to himself and certainly to the country. BTW, betch Hussein makes a play to give Gitmo back to Castro…

    as was/is this..

It’s not over until it’s over

According to John Brennan, head of the White House’s homeland security office, the war on terrorism is over. From now on, the administration will never use terms like “jihadists” and “global war” because doing so, as Mr. Brennan said, “risks giving these murderers the religious legitimacy they desperately seek but in no way deserve.” He insisted that the U.S. is at “war with al Qaeda” (“U.S. no longer at war with ‘terrorism’ ,” Page 1, Friday).

Could we be more blind? Acts of terror are rooted in the aspirations
of Islamists to create an Islamic state and impose their version of Shariah law.

As a devout Muslim who, like many others across the world, is dedicated to fighting Islamism and its radical offshoots, I believe there is nothing more dangerous to our security in the long term than the leader of the free world remaining in categorical denial about the essence of this ever-so-real contest of ideas.

Al Qaeda had nothing to do with the string of radical Islamists arrested across the country — from North Carolina to New York, Oregon and New Jersey (to name but a few) — in the last year alone. The only thing these radicals have in common is their belief in a militant version of political Islam.

I certainly can understand the concern of making this a clash of religions, but that should not lead to outright misinformation. There is a civil war happening within the Muslim consciousness — between those who advocate for the Islamic state (Islamists) and those who believe in secular liberal democracies.

It certainly is not the role of any administration to determine who are “good” and “bad” jihadists. Not calling them exactly what they call themselves makes the White House the arbiter of who is and who is not a Muslim. This avoidance behavior allows American Islamists, like the Muslim Brotherhood’s front groups in Washington, to continue to deny their responsibility to lead the Islamic reform effort against Islamism and its role in radicalization — the real existential threat to the West.

The last administration used a term far too vague, labeling the tactic of terror as the enemy rather than the ideology of militant Islamism. Now
we have swung the other way, targeting a single group that is but one manifestation of a global movement. The movement radicalizes Muslims and remains an ever-present danger to our citizenry and it should be identified as such.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I said he’d do that the day he announced he would close Gitmo.

It’ll be for a “money saving move”, of course. He’s doing it for “the people”.
(And I’ll bet he apologizes to castro for not giving it back sooner – to “cleanse the stain on our national soul”. In other words – it’s all *our* fault.)

  19. I applaud M. Zuhdi Yasser, and hope he has a very tight personal security system.

You’re absolutely right, Scott. For these and many other offenses, Barack Obama should be tried for treason.

Impeachment proceedings cannot begin a moment too soon.

there’s a resonating echo in the White House

[But communists could not be wrong. After all, their knowledge was scientific, based on historical materialism, an understanding of the dialectical process in nature and human society, and a materialist (and thus realistic) view of nature. Marx has shown empirically where society has been and why, and he and his interpreters proved that it was destined for a communist end. No one could prevent this, but only stand in the way and delay it at the cost of more human misery. Those who disagreed with this world view and even with some of the proper interpretations of Marx and Lenin were, without a scintilla of doubt, wrong. After all, did not Marx or Lenin or Stalin or Mao say that. . . . In other words, communism was like a fanatical religion. It had its revealed text and chief interpreters. It had its priests and their ritualistic prose with all the answers. It had a heaven, and the proper behavior to reach it. It had its appeal to faith. And it had its crusade against nonbelievers.

What made this secular religion so utterly lethal was its seizure of all the state's instrument of force and coercion and their immediate use to destroy or control all independent sources of power, such as the church, the professions, private businesses, schools, and, of course, the family.]

    can you say GLSEN..

This “deal” sounds a lot like plea bargaining…
