The GOP House members were way too civil with the president yesterday.
Barack Obama has tripled the US deficit in one year, nearly doubled unemployment since the Bush years, and he’s blamed every bit of his misfortunes on the previous administration. His agenda is not only transforming but is destroying the American economy. This wasn’t a SOTU Address. GOP House members did not have to sit on their hands as he repeated lie after lie. They should have demanded respect. Or, maybe they don’t believe we are in crisis?
Stephen Hayes from the Weekly Standard pointed to the most ridiculous statement from his speech yesterday to the GOP.

To those that want to claim yesterdays debate with the gop was a win for Obama I would point out one thing. For the last year Obama has been on TV and in the news non stop pushing his agenda with almost no GOP media presence. Democrats have loved every minute of this.
So where is Obamas agenda ?
Its all polling in the 30′s. If thats a win then I’d hate to see him lose.
Obamas mouth is his biggest enemy and it always fails to match the deeds of the Democrats.

I personally would like to see less of B.O. I don’t know if I have ever been so repulsed by someone as much as this guy. And it is simply because I just can’t believe much that comes out of his mouth. I have come to totally disregard anything that comes out of his mouth. His “speeches” are just a waste of time to me.

I have to disagree with Stephen Hayes. I think the Republicans played it just right. Obama came to that retreat to be a martyr. He wanted to prove once and for all that the Republicans wanted him to fail because of his color. Irrational yes, but it has worked for him so many times before. Because they didn’t take the bait Obama didn’t lay a glove on them.
While Obama kept digging himself a deeper hole the Republicans just let him dig. Bravo!

So the headline tells us. Sure, she has a gripe with Obama. But delivering a message like that through the press wouldn’t help to resolve it. That’ll take place behind the scenes and maybe already has. Get used to moderate Democrats playing the I’m no rubberstamp for Obama card from now through election.

Maybe this crap Obama pulls works for Community Organizers but it fails miserably when your President. He said he was going to the Retreat to listen but Obama never listens to anyone but the voices inside his head.
He claims that he has 59 votes (which I doubt) while the Republicans have 41 therefore they should defer to him. This was repulsive because it shows either a lack of knowledge about our political system or worse a man who wants what he wants inspite of our system. While the Republicans kept their powder dry Obama’s real persona became more transparent.

Yesterday’s meeting with the GOP reminded me of that interview candidate that is so uncomfortabe with silence, he becomes determined to fill the silence with himself. The more he talks, the less endearing he becomes and the less credible his presentation. BO was that candidate yesterday. Talking 80% of the time, listening almost none. He makes the strongest case why no Republican should rush to his defense.
The one omission that should have been said was that SEIU has had more access to the WH than all Republicans and Democrats combined. Why does friend Andy have so much of BO’s ear? Where’s the promised transparency?

When POTUS says ‘I am not an ideologue,’ the gap between his rhetoric and first year track record is so plain as to make his declaration downright daffy .. (why, even Obamagirl’s lost that lovin’ feelin’..)
When CJ Roberts declared ‘I’m not an ideologue,’ to calm Senate skeptics in 2005 at Senate CJ confirmation hearings, he had the goods: a 15 year track record as fed. appeals judge and private practitioner to back up his claim.. his record proved it.
Not so with Obama.. he’s worn the same shoes for 15 years, and he’s sure stuck with wearing them.

This statement, and the remark about it being a “Bolshevik plot,” to takeover health care is the only transparent thing out of him. He is saying to the audience, and the American people, no really, I’m not, I’m really not, and hoping it will stick. Just reading Eric Cantor’s body language with the fixing of the glasses, tells me he doesn’t buy it.
