Scott Brown now leads Martha Coakley 50-46 in the latest Suffolk University/WHDH-TV poll.
The Boston Herald reported:

Riding a wave of opposition to Democratic health-care reform, GOP upstart Scott Brown is leading in the U.S. Senate race, raising the odds of a historic upset that would reverberate all the way to the White House, a new poll shows.

Although Brown’s 4-point lead over Democrat Martha Coakley is within the Suffolk University/7News survey’s margin of error, the underdog’s position at the top of the results stunned even pollster David Paleologos.

“It’s a Brown-out,” said Paleologos, director of Suffolk’s Political Research Center. “It’s a massive change in the political landscape.”

The poll shows Brown, a state senator from Wrentham, besting Coakley, the state’s attorney general, by 50 percent to 46 percent, the first major survey to show Brown in the lead. Unenrolled long-shot Joseph L. Kennedy, an information technology executive with no relation to the famous family, gets 3 percent of the vote. Only 1 percent of voters were undecided.

Paleologos said bellweather models show high numbers of independent voters turning out on election day, which benefits Brown, who has 65 percent of that bloc compared to Coakley’s 30 percent. Kennedy earns just 3 percent of the independent vote, and 1 percent are undecided.

Given the 4.4-point margin of error, the poll shows Coakley could win the race, Paleologos said. But if Brown’s momentum holds, he is poised to succeed the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy – and to halt health-care reform, the issue the late senator dubbed “the cause of my life.”

Robert Grant from Massachusetts adds that David Paleologos was the only person to nail the Hillary Victory In the 2008 New Hampshire Primary.

More… Republican Scott Brown has reportedly raised at least one million dollars every day this week!

  1. Unfortunately, I don’t think Suffolk is a very reliable poll.

  2. It’s all about the “dead” vote. Only the democrats pander to that demographic, and it has never let them down.

  3. fits the trend…. so thats good news.

  4. If only for a moment, maybe we can have hope again that this hell-hole we’ve been thrown into for the past year may come to an end.

  5. Given the stupid, insane remarks that Coakley has made in the past few days she “knows” that the election is hers. Only a libtard Demorat would make remarks that would alienate the majority of the voting population, knowing that she has lobbyists, unions and the good ol’ Camelot crowd to back her. The ACORN never falls far from the tree and Coakley has plenty nuts surrounding her.

  6. He needs to maintain this kind of a lead to avoid the Al ‘I invented the internet’ Gore style recall garbage, as well as balancing out the dead and fictitious votes. We don’t want an Al Franken situation either. Ideally Kennedy will drop from the race and throw his support for Brown, given he has no chance of winning and they are both opposed to Obamacare though I doubt it.

  7. It’s now Martha “Croakley”… her momentum is dead, and she’s going to get frog-marched out of the office she thinks she won…

  8. Coakley is going to have a nervous breakdown. She seems pretty shaken up the last few days, I think it’s starting to sink in that the lib estab and the SEIU can only do so much. She really thought they were going to take care of it for her. She’d better win or Obama will waste no time in throwing her and her lousy campaign under the bus.

  9. It is at least a time for cautious optimism!

  10. What can Brown do for you? Save America.

  11. Great news! I donated more money today, and I live in Maryland.

“What can Brown do for you? Save America.”
    Love it!

  12. I think its significant that Obama is not going to Mass to help Coakley. He hates to be close to losers.

Only 1% of voters have not made up their minds. Its going to be hard to turn them around.

  13. I don’t know who’s advising Brown on his campaign but its a brilliant move to run as a maverick within the Republican Party. God bless you Scott Brown.

  14. Newt Gingrich said tonight that while they want to hold back the certification of a victory for Scott Brown — it won’t happen. The PR from this would be horrible and could destroy the Democratic Party.

He also mentioned that Stu Rothenberg believes that Brown can win.

  15. Although this is good news, I still can’t see an (R) winning in a state with 3-1 (D)’s. This is interesting, but I don’t have my hopes up. I think November is the chance to get control of this runaway train.

  16. Explosive article at

    http://blog.savejersey.com/2010/01/12/white-out-cocaine-in-the-obama-white-house.aspx

alleging cocaine use in the White House!!!

  17. Actually, Suffolk is considered a reliable pollster within MA. I still don’t know if Brown will win, but I’ll definitely be casting my vote…

  18. Like on halloween, on election day the dead will rise from their graves and haunt us by voting. For some unknown reason people become Dems when they die.

  19. Remember when willie anklepants had to call on grovelin’ jimmuh to bail out his foreign policy failures (e.g., N.Korea & Haiti)? That was a case of the incompetent leading the worthless . . . . So what do we say to the spectacle of the hopey-changey clown enlisting the blow-dried ego to save *this* regime? If Brown wins, the rats jumping the rotting hulk of the KHAS (Kenyan Hot Air Ship) “Empty Suit” will look like a scene from “Willard.”

  20. I’m hoping the people of MA once again fire the first shot in this tax revolt.
The health plan that is being floated will result in MORE expensive medical care for many Americans, as they begin to tax “cadillac” plans and look for a way to pay for another huge government program. Why would they tax people who have health insurance if their goal is to make medical insurance more affordable?
    MA tell them NO.

  21. I have seen lots of Scott Brown signs posted in front of cemetaries. Even the dead will be voting for him, the dems most loyal constinuency.

  22. Ronald Reagan has even cast an absentee ballot….http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXmZbc9DPCY

  23. IT LOOK LIKE ACORN,SEIU AND BLACK PANTER PARTY GOT THEIR JOB CUT OUT FOR THEM.

  24. I smell blood.
