Republican Scott Brown called on Democrat Martha Coakley to make a stand against Senator Paul Kirk’s scandalous asmission that he won’t step down from his assigned post until after the Obamacare vote.

This week Brown charged that Democrats were seeking to delay certification of the election winner to ensure that if he wins, he can’t be the deciding vote against a nationalized health care bill.

SCOTT BROWN: “The latest development is Senator Kirk, the interim senator which we manipulated senate the succession issue to make sure that we had that 60th vote to kind of ram things through, well he announced today that he’s not resigning and that the Secretary of State thinks he needs to wait until every single ballot is counted and recounted and triply counted, and they’re not going to certify me until after the healthcare debate. Now, you know what that does, that makes me sick to my stomach. [...] We called on her [Martha Coakley] to stand up to the manipulation of another vote in Washington.

We’ve called on her tonight to stand up and say ‘no, no, whoever wins, you certify them right away.”

Majority Leader Harry Reid has said he won’t seat the winner of the election until at least after January 29th.
This will allow democrats to ram through their nationalized health care legislation before Scott Brown is seated if he wins on Tuesday.

  1. corrupt to last minute. The democrats don’t want to give up power no matter what the outcome. Hugo Chavez would be proud.

  2. Sorry. I hop dingey Harry does it. We may lose the Health Care vote but we’ll gain a super majority in the next 8 years. We can always repeal the Health Care crap.

  3. Carbon Monoxide, you might want to research the fine print in Harry’s backroom legislation. It contains a “no repeal” clause for BOTH the House and Senate. I can’t believe such a clause would pass Constitutional muster, but it would take time to get that process settled. In the meantime, they’ll forge ahead at a break-neck pace.

And it would take another three years (2012) before any change in the super majority could take place. That’s far too long; far too many months for the Democrats to inflict bankruptcy on the country.

  4. Throw the bums out.

  5. I don’t think this will be a problem if Brown wins by a good margin. The people of MA who then elected him would not put up with anymore shenanigans. At least this is what I hope!

  6. It is wrong, and exposes the Dem’s Bone-Deep corruption, that they would even THINK about not seating any elected official, before the votes come in. What if Scott Brown wins by a landslide. Will they refuse to seat him THEN?

When can we put the Criminal Dems in JAIL?

  7. As for Coakley responding to Brown?

She’ll make some diluted statement about how she has “no control” over what the leadership does in Washington and skirt around the issue by saying “you should ask Senator Reid about that because it’s something I have no control over”.

If Reid DOES pull this stunt, he’ll be hammered into oblivion by the media, which is just now catching on to all of the corrupt dealings he’s orchestrated this year. Even if he doesn’t pull this string, his chances of winning reelection are just about nil. For the “sake of the party”, he’ll pull a Chris Dodd.

  8. “It contains a “no repeal” clause for BOTH the House and Senate….” now harry nancy, do we really have to go there. Igor, would you make room for another two?

  9. Question:

Has any prior legislation ever had a “no repeal” clause within it?

This doesn’t sound right at all.

I’m with Scott 100% on his call for Coakley to respond on Kirk’s stance.

  10. Daniel, I’ve never heard of legislation – prior to this one – with a “no repeal” clause. In fact, the process for repeal of legislation is settled law, therefore, I don’t see how it could survive. Added to the fact, Harry included the House in that provision, so funding can’t be pulled, either.

As certain as the Sun came up in the East this morning, legal challenges are being written right now; to be filed the instant the bill becomes law.

  11. it would seem the Democrats don’t think the coming political earthquake is enough. They want to garauntee their own demise as a a party by refusing to seat Brown if he wins.

Try it Harry. if you think Dems are in trouble now, you ain’t seen nothing yet if you pull this Hugo Chevez move.

  12. If Brown wins and the Dems delay seating him, then get ready for a march to Washington like has never been seen before.

  13. I agree with Highlander. This administration and their cronies stink to high heaven with corruption.

Last night on Bill O’Reilly’s show, he had a segment about the Black Panter intimidation of voters(2008 in Philadelphia) ERIC HOLDER, THE TOP LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER HAS DROPPED THE CASE!!! This also is outrageous.

One more example of breathtaking disregard for law.

  14. We have laws in this country to protect children!!!

So tell me, how have so many people apparently been dropped on their heads?

  15. The Democrats sat on Minnesota results, dragged their feet, fogged and crawled to keep the Republican out for MONTHS until everyone was fatigued enough then Al Franken was sworn in like lightening and sitting in Washignton the next day, ready to vote.
They are perfectly capable of ignoring Brown FOR MONTHS if he’s elected, until they’ve voted, rendering his election effectively moot. DISENFRANCHISING the voters of Massachusetts.

HOWEVER, Brown is expertly boxing them into a corner and shining the spotlight on them. The rage that stiffed voters would have if the Democrats do that (and expect they will ASAP ASAP ASAP) has the POTENTIAL to turn Mass into the Reddest state in the country.

    Very exciting!

  16. The bottom line here is, it doesn’t matter if he was 20 points ahead, they will dig out the ole “absentee” ballots and pull on him what they pulled on Coleman. The count will drag out for months. I don’t trust them because they don’t subscribe to the system of justice we do – the righteous one man one vote.. They feel they are entitled to this office — no matter what…mo matter what the people want. Cheating is acceptable.

  17. I’m worried about Brown joining the “magic absentee ballots” club with Coleman and Rossi of WA state, as well. These were both high profile targets of this blatant cheating technique, but nothing was ever done. Anyone happen to know why nothing was done in MN or WA?

  18. If Kirk and Reid pull that s**t…..

    PITCHFORK TIME!!!
