Obama Bows Again- To Tampa's Mayor… For What Reason Is Anyone's Guess

OK. This is getting really weird.
Obama bowed to Tampa’s mayor this week.

At least it wasn’t a full waiter’s bow.
First the media hacks were bowing to Obama. Now Obama is bowing to dictators, emperors and the Tampa mayor. This is getting weird.

Good question. Even in Indonesia, he was too young to get or keep a habit like that. Never saw people bow in Kenya, and anyway he’s never actually lived there. Have seen people bow, kneel and genuflect in Nigeria, but he’s never been there as far as we know.

John Wayne never bowed to anyone. The only “King” we ever had here in America was Elvis Presley, and he wasn’t too strict on protocol.
The mayor accepts his subservient bow with full grace. The Admiral in the picture looks a little bemuse at the spectacle.

Nov 15 CAIR day?- that would deserve a big bow, apparently.
The first thing I thought of was: didn’t central Florida just receive 45,000 displaced Haitian refugees, with plans to receive many tens of thousands more? (I don’t recall us importing tens of thousands of refugees from other countries after their earthquakes and disasters- maybe I missed it).
With hundreds of thousands of new immigrants Florida is sure to go for the “progressives” in all elections to come….

In certain religious schools girls wore patent leather shoes and the boys would bow to get a better view. Did Obama pick up that habit in Indonesia? Was Mayor Iorio wearing patent leather shoes? Do pheremones from alpha males and females cause beta male Obama to convulse suddenly into bows? One can’t say that this is a sign of respect for Obama to females in general as we’ve never seen him bow to Hillary or the Queen of England. This is getting curiouser and curiouser.

I read the article in the Daily News which only observed that some right wing pundits were calling it a bow.
BUT they glaringly did not have an explanation on what itn was if it was not a bow.
Left wing bloggers are saying he was leaning in to hear what she was saying…
but damn, in this picture, she didn ‘t even appear to be talking and he doesn’t seem to have turned his ear towards the speaker which you do automatically to “better hear someone.”

I really can’t stand Obama, but I do agree with someone above who stated that he probably thinks it is courtly or elegant to bow. The issue is that doing a courtly bow is not at all as deep as the ones he is doing. It would be just a slight bending toward the other person. That type of bow is very old-fashioned anyway. Do they bow in France? (Just curious.) How about in Indonesia? Maybe he learned this from his grandmother, you know, the one he threw under the bus.

I think that someone dropped a quarter on the ground, and because of his obvious frugality, Obama instintively bent over to look for it. No doubt this find will be counted as deficit reduction. Next he will be telling us that if we all looked on the ground for quarters we could end the deficit, much like his brilliant suggestion that we could become energy independent if we checked our tire pressure.

A few comments here regarding yet another bow:
1. if it was a courtly and elegant bow, the schmuck would not be shaking hands at the same time. No way is it courtly.
2. The people suggesting a bad back have never in their lives experienced a back spasm. If you have one of those it is almost impossible to bend over. (I am talking from experience on back spasms)
3. I think that this “bow” is once again showing some form of subservience.

Neither of your explanations makes sense.
We’ve all shaken hands without someone shorter without bending at the waist and if we are leaning in to hear someone, everyone always tilts their ear towards the speaker. This was not the case.
Now, I couldn’t care less if he wants to bow to Tampa’s mayor but why are YOU so pressed to deny it?
If you are so busy making excuses for a non-issue, what does that do for your credibilty on the real problems?
