There’s only one “e” in “Massachusetts,” Martha.
A New Martha Coakley ad attacking Scott Brown misspells Massachusetts:

What a horrid ad. Does she really want people to start thinking about what they can’t afford after democrats just tripled the national deficit in one year?
Mass Live reported:
On the heels of last night’s final debate between Martha Coakley, Scott Brown and Joseph L. Kennedy, Coakley released a new ad attacking Scott Brown — an aggressive turn that many observers have thought was long overdue.
However the ad’s message might get lost by a spelling gaffe that appears in the ad’s closing seconds. In the fine print appearing at the bottom of the screen, the ad reads:
Paid for by Massachusettes Democratic Party and Authorized by Martha Coakley for Senate. Approved by Martha Coakley.
Close observers will notice that there is an extra ‘E’ tacked onto the end of ‘Massachusetts. It’s a trivial oversight, for sure, but you can bet that the jokes and jabs the typo will inspire will blunt at least some of the impact of the ad.
What will you remember most from this ad?

In the Weekly Standard they said that Brown scored points for being likable while Coakley was aggressive and strident. I knew she reminded me of somebody.

Coakley lost the debate. She was made out to correctly be naive and clueless. The “people’s seat” should be the campaign slogan until the special election is completed. Masterful rebuttal with that line.

We will see how this one plays out with the MSM, we will see if they will make as much hay with this as they did Vice President Dan Quayle misspelling potato, potatoe?
I know it was not misspelled personally by Coakly but you would think that the person that misspelled Massachusetts was a resident of that state and it shouldn’t have occurred.
Any reference to the word afford, fiscal, spending, budget, or any other word that references governmental spending when the Democrats own a $1.4T one year budget deficit…wait a second…..is the McCain’s campaign staff running her campaign?
You know no one talks about the total amount the Federal Government spent as they took in $2.5T in 2008 (of course we don’t know what the revenues will be from 2009 yet).
Let’s start talking about the fact they spent in essence $3,900,000,000,000

As Brown Raises $1.3 Million from Citizens ‘Round the Country, Coakley Calls In Big Money From… Health Care/Pharma Lobbyists

Isn’t that wonderful.
Of the 22 names on the host committee–meaning they raised $10,000 or more for Coakley–17 are federally registered lobbyists, 15 of whom have health-care clients. Of the other five hosts, one is married to a lobbyist, one was a lobbyist in Pennsylvania, another is a lawyer at a lobbying firm, and another is a corporate CEO. Oh, and of course, there’s also the political action commitee for Boston Scientific Corporation.
All the leading drug companies have lobbyists on Coakley’s host committee: Pfizer, Merck, Amgen, Sanofi-Aventis, Eli Lilly, Novartis, Astra-Zeneca, and more. On the insurance side of things, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, HealthSouth, and United Health all are represented on the host committee.
Tom63010 commented:
To non_dhimmie:
Scott Brown should make an ad out of that information.
The ad on You Tube has been corrected. The last segment does now have the narrator reading a statement and misreads the “or” as “and”. That would be nit picking so personally not as big a deal as misspelling the name of the state you are running to be the Senator from.

They gave it a French spelling. Makes me think the ad was actually written by “Massachusettes” Senator John Kerry, who much prefers France to New England.
Doug H commented:
Look at the flow of the ad. The first thing you notice is the picture. Nice semi-profile shot. Next your eyes are drawn to the bolded words, “Scott Brown”, then to the red, “Republican”.
So, in the typical 1 to 2 seconds of attention that a political ad receives, I get that a pretty decent looking guy named “Scott Brown” is a “Republican”.
I think Scott should thank the alleged “Massachusetts Democratic Party” for the free advertising they gave him.
I don’t even think that Scott needs to rebut the “We can’t afford” part of the message. The first thing I thought of was all the spending Congress has been doing and that Republicans are the party of “No”. They (Republicans) don’t say it nearly enough, but that’s the branding Democrats are trying to use for us.
IOpian commented:
Oh the irony, the ‘social justice’, if Brown gets elected and certified in time to put that last nail in the Kennedy legacy’s coffin by being the one that kills this health deform bill.

The success of Scott Brown’s campaign hinges on turnout of his supporters and everyone they can get to the polls. The Democrap machine is well oiled here in Massachusetts and will drag anything that looks like a person with a heartbeat (or even a warm corpse) to the polls in an ice storm. We need to do the same for Scott. This election can be won but the sprint through next Tuesday has to be strong.

Desperation time: DSCC suddenly buys $570K in MA ad time
How worried have Democrats become about the special Senate election in Massachusetts? The DSCC has suddenly shifted over a half-million dollars into last-minute ad buys in Boston and Springfield to shore up Martha Coakley’s campaign.
That’s over $800,000 from the party in just 48 hours. And they’re not buying ads because they’re believing that Boston Globe poll that puts Coakley up 15 points over Scott Brown, either. The fact that they have to have an ad buy in Boston should be rather unnerving for Democrats around the country. Democrats own Boston — or at least they did.
[...]
It’s a good idea if you’re out of cash and have to get bailed out of a bad campaign effort by the state and national party organizations. Speaking of which, that money may have been earmarked for other races, like Nevada, Arkansas, and Connecticut. Massachusetts was supposed to be a lock. If they have to flood the zone in Boston, what does that say for the DSCC’s chances in November in purple and red states?

Chisum (msg #54),
I am good friends with a President of a local union here.
Here is how union members in various locals are “hoodwinked” into supporting someone they may not want to.
The Union leaders call for a group meeting at their county/local HQ offices. The members and lower tier officers are told it is for a different purpose/meeting agenda. Then afterwards, they are hustled into a bus (or more) and driven to an event where they are let out and paraded into the event. All the while they are wearing their union clothing.
This is what happened at Steny Hoyer’s last Town Hall meeting.
It is precisely how they operate.
