He can’t fool everyone…
Most Americans don’t believe a thing the president is saying about the economy.
Rasmussen reported:
During his State-of-the-Union address Wednesday night, President Obama spoke about a deficit of trust between the American people and political leaders. New Rasmussen Reports polling on the president’s speech shows just how deep that trust deficit has become.
The president in the speech declared that his administration has cut taxes for 95% of Americans. He even chided Republicans for not applauding on that point. However, just 21% of voters nationwide believe that taxes have been cut for 95% of Americans. Most (53%) say it has not happened, and 26% are not sure. Other polling shows that nearly half the nation’s voters expect their own taxes to go up during the Obama years.
The president also asserted that “after two years of recession, the economy is growing again.” Just 35% of voters believe that statement is true, while 50% say it is false.
Obama claimed that steps taken by his team are responsible for putting two million people to work “who would otherwise be unemployed.” Just 27% of voters say that statement is true. Fifty-one percent (51%) say it’s false.

The poll measures belief whether a statement is true or false. It’s focused on the statements themselves. When a person delivers false statement after false statement, that is the definition of a liar. LIAR. It’s not a mistake or a misquote. L-I-A-R.

Only the truly brain dead and those who want this country to fall into a Maoist style totalitarian dictatorship still believe anything that comes out of Obamao’s mouth.
The Obamao/Pelosi/Reid axis of evil had their last chance to stop from going over the precipice last Tuesday. Instead they chose to run straight off the cliff at full speed and are now falling into the abyss. It is a long way to the bottom and when they hit it the crash will be spectacular indeed and the “collateral damage” will take out many of the agendas, policies and institutions that they and the rest of their ilk have spent 70+ years painstakingly installed in this country.

So exactly how many czars are there now?
The truth is the government sector is one of the only employment sectors expanding at a time where private is still collapsing.
Not good.
We pay for government, which means, it brings money out of American’s pockets and the economy.
We need to decrease taxes (which would actually increase government revenue).
We have a failing social security system and a failing Medicare system and the government, instead of solving current problems, wants to add to the burden.
It is time to say enough.

We don’t need a man/child President to lie to us about our economy while Americans continue to lose their homes and jobs. We don’t want a Healthcare Bill which will cost the earth while we struggle just to get by. Bogus populism will not get us out of this mess. Banks aren’t the problem — a tone deaf government is.

Watch the Pollsters Attempt to Change the Agenda Now That Obama’s Down for the Count
Boys and girls– here’s the new game in town. And it goes like this: The media, like the son of a mother dog that we so well know it to be, will forthwith put in for its usual Mutt and Jeff routine, now that Obama has incompetently run afoul of the Families’ agenda. Polls are now going to show more and more Americans are excruciatingly worried about the deficit. Of course this is pure manipulation. The Republican party is ginning up this Simple Simon brand of Joe six pack falderol a la that s-l-o-w drawling Republican version of Al Gore’s best schoolmarm imitation, Phil Gramm and his kitchen table economics for kindergarteners: Mr. and Mrs. America (he twangs): the government has to pay as you go just like you and me. Ergo, the Mutt and Jeff ragtime. So John Q., you aren’t ready for deathcare euthanasia a la the Obama kill your granny meme? Well here’s what you are telling us now you want in this latest poll: you demand budget cuts: soto voce–read Schachtian austerity. Come on, you know you want it. The media’s credibility which is falling as fast as Obama’s continues to proclaim his greatness. But its all about consumer confidence which is in the toilet and 10% unemployment. Let him talk — people have tuned him out.
As far as the new numbers for the 4th quarter are concerned–those numbers will be revised twice more before we have the real end of year numbers.
I think Obama’s attacks on banks have spooked the market. By March Obama can brag about creating 2 million more jobs — but those are temporary census workers. So by August the economy will suck bigger than it does now. Lets hope that even the Yes We Can suckers vote Republican this year.

******************************************************
That was not – as you well know – a “tax reduction”. The IRS merely collected a bit less money so that people would get to take home an extra $8-$13 each week.
The IRS has already stated that a great many people will OWE MORE taxes this April 15th – because of the reduced deductions from paychecks.
You see, ken, with an actual *reduction* in the tax rate, you don’t owe more on what the government didn’t already confiscate.
D’ohbama is a liar, a sneak and a cheat; and you know it. You’re just too tied into his agenda to let go in the face of facts. You keep hoping that the facts will change.
Hint: They won’t.

Obama reduced your tax withholding, not your taxes. Instead of having $100 withheld you had $95 withheld, voila paycheck goes up! But…. come tax time you still owe the same amount, you have to make up the difference out of your pocket.
Ken commented:
From politifact:
we wanted to check Obama’s statement that he cut taxes for 95 percent of working families.
The key word in his statement is “working.” Obama’s claim is based on a tax cut intended to offset payroll taxes. Under the stimulus bill, single workers got $400, and working couples got $800. The Internal Revenue Service issued new guidelines to reduce withholdings for income tax, so many workers saw a small increase in their checks in April 2009.
The tax cut was part of Obama’s campaign promises. During the campaign, Obama said he wanted $500 for each worker and $1,000 for working couples. Since the final number was a bit less than he promised, we rated his promise a Compromise on our Obameter, where we rate Obama’s campaign promises for fulfillment.
During the campaign, the independent Tax Policy Center researched how Obama’s tax proposals would affect workers. It concluded 94.3 percent of workers would receive a tax cut under Obama’s plan based on the tax credit to offset payroll taxes. According to the analysis, the people who wouldn’t get a tax cut are those who make more than $250,000 for couples or $200,000 for a single person. Obama said he intended to raise taxes on those high earners, a promise he reiterated during the State of the Union, and that revenue would offset the stimulus tax cut.
Because the stimulus act did give that broad-based tax cut to workers, we rate Obama’s statement True.
Spider-Man commented:
From American Spectator:
Tax cuts stimulate the economy when they involve reductions in tax rates. The reduction in rates improves incentives for savings, investment, business creation and expansion, job creation, entrepreneurship, and work, by allowing people to keep a greater percentage of the reward produced by these activities. This improves the economy not just by the dollar amount of the tax cut. The improved incentives affect every economic decision and every dollar in the entire economy. The astoundingly successful Reagan tax cuts in the 1980s, as well as the astoundingly successful Kennedy tax cuts of the 1960s, were both based on reducing tax rates, and were successful for these reasons.
But the Obama tax cut package studiously avoids any reductions in tax rates anywhere. The centerpiece of the plan is a $500 per worker tax credit, estimated to cost $150
billion. The government will just borrow $150 billion from the private economy to give away in these tax credits, so there will be no net gain to the economy. Nor will there be any improved incentives to save, or invest, or start or expand a business, or hire new workers. The credit does not even provide increased incentives to work, because once the worker is over a very low income threshold of about $8,000 per year, the amount of the credit does not increase for increased work and income.
