Lech Walesa: "America Is Moving Towards Socialism"

On Friday, January 29th, 2010, Lech Walesa, former President of Poland, traveled to Chicago to endorse Illinois Republican gubernatorial candidate, Adam Andrzejewski. This was the first time that Walesa has backed an American candidate for office.
Andrew Marcus from Founding Bloggers and Big Government interviewed Lech and Adam on Friday in Chicago:

Lech Walesa: “The United States was always the last resort and hope for all other nations. There was the hope that whenever something was going wrong one could count on the United States. Today we lost that hope.”

Adam Andrzejewski will be in O’Fallon, Illinois today at a pre-election rally from 3-5 PM.

The rally for Adam will be held at the Regency Conference Ctr. Hilton Garden Inn

I do think its credible to claim that Obama is pushing a Chavez-like economic and domestic policy – it can be called “Cash for Cronies” as a short-hand. If you support Obama by voting and donating money for him and his causes, you will be rewarded with taxpayer money “re-distributed” to you and your company or state, county, city, etc.

This is how totalitarian countries operate; this is not free enterprise. Obama does not like free enterprise or capitalism precisely because in such a system, generally, the harder working, the smarter, the more ambitious get ahead and thereby create a socio-economic system where wealth/income/money is not “flat” and evenly distributed, which is BHO’s prime goal.

I think that the Democratic party is moving the country towards socialism, and that many in our nation, who don’t understand the implications of that kind of move, support it- mainly because they want something for nothing. However, I don’t think the majority of the US wants socialism, which is evidenced by Massachusetts electing a Republican senator to stop Obamacare.

Also agree with Wyatt’s points above.

We’re actually just planting our “other foot” in the Socialism quicksand. Converting our country to a total entitlement system – whereby the power moves UP to the government, instead of down to the people – is basically in full swing under the guidance and tutelage of one Barack H. Obama. It’s his goal in life, folks.

It’s our goal to stop it.

When Lech Walesa said “America is moving toward Socialism”, he represents the “pot calling the kettle ‘black’.”

He is (and has always been) a labor union leader. By all measures, labor unions are socialist in nature, eschewing the very concept of individualism that is the strength of America.

if I lived in Illinois, Walesa’s endorsement of Adam Andrzejewski would send me scurrying elsewhere to find a candidate to fight Chicago’s machine politics.

Your comment is the single dumbest thing ever posted on the internet. Lech Walesa led the first bread strikes in Gdansk in 1970 that brought down the Gromulka government. He founded Solidarity, the fisrt independent trade union outside control of the Communist Party. He led the 1980-81 movement that almost toppled the Communist regime. After Solidarity was legalized (again due to Walesa’s triumphant performance in nationally televised debates against the leader of the officially sanctioned union in November 1988), he led the party to an overwhelming victory in the June 1989 elections. Lech Walesa brought in Harvard professor Jeffery Sachs to institute shock therapy and rapidly convert the Polish economy from Communism to a market system. Poland has had more success as a capitalist country than any other in the former Soviet bloc and was the ONLY European Union member country to have GDP growth in 2009. This is all due to Lech Walesa. He did it. He is on the same level as John Paul II, Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan.

What an endorsement indeed!!! The Last person Wasela Backed was Ronald Reagan!!! I helped run the rally on Friday and Lech was gushing with support and said he will back Adam Andrzejewski now and be back to help him after the primaries!!

Lech has to be by far one of the biggest endorements any US Candidate has received thus far. It is HUGE!!!
