Byron York reported this morning that Barack Obama will push for some sort of immigration reform in his State of the Union Address tonight.
The Washington Examiner reported:

The latest indication that Obama plans to move ahead on his commitment to comprehensive reform is in a set of videos released by the White House to mark the president’s first year in office. The videos, in which cabinet members explain their goals for the coming year, are on the White House website. In one of them, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano touts her department’s efforts in 2009 to deploy “more people, technology, and resources” at the nation’s borders. In 2010, Napolitano says, Homeland Security will work on aviation security, information sharing, border security, and: “We will pursue comprehensive immigration reform to address longstanding problems with our immigration system.”

But just how committed is the White House to the passage of a reform bill? Napolitano’s immigration pledge was brought up at Tuesday’s White House briefing. “What’s this going to look like?” a reporter asked press secretary Robert Gibbs.

“Well, I think one of the things the President will — has talked about and one of the things you’ll hear him mention [in the State of the Union speech] and in the coming days, similar to what I’ve said on cap and trade, and that is that if — we’ve started a process on this and if Congress can put together the way forward, a coalition to get the way forward, then it’s something we’ll work through,” Gibbs said.

You can thank a group of socialist advisors for being behind the push for immigration reform. These radicals believe “reform” could add another 8 million voters to their longterm governing coalition. Their goal then is not to reform the system or secure the border but to add numbers to the democratic power base.

New Zeal blog recently detailed the socialists and Marxists working behind the scene on immigration reform.

Why, in a time of high U.S. unemployment, is the Obama Administration seriously considering Rep. Luis Gutierrez’s “Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America’s Security and Prosperity” bill which would grant citizenship to up to 12 million illegal immigrants? The answer has little to do with humanity, national security or prosperity. It is all about power- raw socialist power. It is all about 8,000,000 more Democratic Party votes and the creation of a “governing coalition for the long term”.

At the “progressive” America’s Future Now! conference in Washington, DC on June 2, 2009, SEIU International Executive Vice President Eliseo Medina addressed attendees on the issue immigration reform.

Medina told supporters:

“Speaking of Latino voters, Medina said “when they voted in November, they voted overwhelmingly for progressive candidates. Barack Obama got two out of every three voters that showed up. So I think there’s two things that matter for the progressive community. Number one, if we are to expand this electorate to win, the progressive community needs to solidly be on the side of immigrants, that we’ll expand and solidify the progressive coalition for the future… When you are in the middle of a fight for your life you will remember who was there with you. And immigrants count on progressives to be able to do that. Number two. We reform the immigration laws, it puts 12 million people on the path to citizenship and eventually voters. Can you imagine if we have, even the same ratio, two out of three? If we have eight million new voters who care about …… and will be voting. We will be creating a governing coalition for the long term, not just for an election cycle.”

Eliseo Medino is an Obama supporter and advisor:

In 2008, Eliseo Medina joined Barack Obama’s National Latino Advisory Council, where he worked with DSA linked future Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, Luis Gutierrez and the co-sponsor of Gutierrez’s immigration bill, the radical New York Congresswoman, Nydia Velasquez. Luis Gutierrez is regarded in Chicago as one of Barack Obama’s biggest supporters. Eliseo Medina and Barack Obama , both have ties to Chicago Democratic Socialists of America, so it is not suprizing that Luis Gutierrez also has “connections”.

There’s much more on these radicals at New Zeal blog.

  1. And anyone who opposes this blatant effort to boost the leftist coalition will be called bad, bad names.

    Can we take the heat?

Do we have any other choice?

  2. That will go over like a fart in an elevator.
    Good luck on that Barry.

  3. Good analogy NeoKong,
Interesting use of the “progressive”. This is the new phrase instead of Liberal or Socialist. You will just stregthen the resistence to your agenda Barry.

We have the left in a VERY bad situation. They are still going after thier agenda as if whistling past the graveyard, that they will soon occupy. Out here in fly over country America’s citizens are motivated to stop this hopey changey statist. America is awake and fighting back. The Tea partiers are picking conservative candidates to back finacially and bypassing the RNC/DNC. We are the grassroots movement we have be waiting for. We surround them and our numbers are vast. powder is dry.

  5. And perhaps, the Haiti tragedy will provide the momentum he seeks. CBS reported on a young boy, seemingly from a family of some wealth, who was now in a Weston FL school where they expect (possibly) hundreds more children to be enrolled from that island. “The already cash-strapped district” is calling back retired teachers and grief counsellors.
Also mentioned was that 30,000 who were already scheduled for deportation will instead be staying here and they will have the special deal of being here for 18 more months (sorry forget the name of that program.)

  6. We knew this would happen with McCain. That is one of the reasones he lost. Did you ever wonder why one of the biggest boodoggles McCain ever pulled (the Shamnesty Bill) was never mentioned by Obama? Never once?

We have millions of AMERICANS unemployed and now Obama wants to legalize millions who have managed to stay in this county simply because they managed not to be deported. How many more AMERICANS will lose their jobs do to the chain migration process?

If you oppose rewarding law breakers, yeah, you will be called every disgusting name in the book. But you have to stand up against it, and point out that it is IL-legal immigration you are against. And don’t forget, these are “progressives”. The same name the Communist Party of America called themselves in the 1930′s. These progressives see in Obama a president that will bring them the sociality utopia they have been striving for since the late 1890′s.

  7. “Speaking of Latino voters, Medina said “when they voted in November, they voted overwhelmingly for progressive candidates.”

Progressive is a fancy word for communist. It’s time we start using the real term, they use “progressive,” for cover. This came from a former communist, David Horowitz.

Please donate to JD Hayworth, Mark Levin is endorsing him. We need warriors, and John McCain never fought Barack Obama, and he will not fight this, he will support this.

  8. in the process the “progressives” must make life so painfull that normal Americans will accept his “change” just to get some relief. If you give away some freedom for saftey you will get neither. We are gonna have to relive some very tough times folks. Brought to you via the Obama administration.
    Powder is dry.

  9. Obama’s pollsters will soon learn the meaning of the expression “less than zero.” Great issue for an election year, especially providing a rallying cry for the left to throw every middle class union worker out of a job, replacing them with immigrant labor. That the unions intend to bring in the immigrants into their organization only dilutes the middle class worker’s influence in their union and deprives them of a say.

“Sorry Bob, but you’re a minority in the union now. We have lots of other members we have to think about too. And don’t forget, SEIU is an international workers union. We have other more important duties to the global worker’s movement that take precedence over worrying about a few overpaid white boys in America getting a pay cut.”

  10. Y’all need to bookmark New Zeal, and go there often. It’s an amazing blog.

When you have time, go back through the archives…he broke alot of the stuff Glenn Beck talks about.

  11. This, along with voter fraud, has been my fear. When everyone kept saying “Wait till the elections”, my fear has been that it could be too late by then, as they are putting everything in place. That is why none of them seem too concerned about re-election, I think.

  12. Stiffen your spines, folks. We have to stop this or lose our freedom to the socialist entitlement state.

  13. Quit feeling sorry for yourselves and take action. Get used to having to contact your representatives over and over. NumbersUSA is one group that is effective in tracking and consolidating action as opposed to kvetching.

We won a couple years ago and there are many people getting out in front of these trial balloons to make sure the House is afraid to antagonize their constituents further.

The protocol for disasters is to grant TPS – a temporary 18 month legal status – Watch for BO & Co, to lever this humanitarian gesture into massive immigration by bastardizing the rules and ignoring the 18 month limit. Because we allow chain immigration and give relatives a priority, any Haitian allowed to reside legally will translate to over 10x the number of legal immigrants eventuially coming in.

  14. NoMarxismInAmerica not quite yet but we are dangerously close to what you see. The 2nd amendment is key, IF you see this bunch go after the 2nd, the fight is on, because this is what our founders put it there for. This is why the “progressives” nibble/bite around the edges and use incrementalism to get thier agenda passed. Too quick and it fails.
    Powder is dry.

  15. While most immigrants that came to America took the fibers of their greatness and wove them into the fabric of America in the process of assimilation, many of the Hispanic groups have no such intentions. Clearly, many Hispanic people here are American to the core, but we now clearly see many that just are not interested in assimilation. Their goal is to make America first a bi-lingual country and second to take power. As Dick Lamm, former Governor of Colorado said, “Bi-lingual countries are characterized by turmoil, tension and tragedy.” Who honestly believes America will benefit from becoming a bi-lingual country?

While we have tried for nearly two centuries to make one out of many (E Pluribus Unum), this effort will become futile with the addition of 12M illegal’s who want to take the fibers of their greatness only to make an entirely new piece of cloth that is not American.

The good and decent people from every background on the planet that came here to become American made America great. People that came here only to project their previous identity above their American identity (including some Muslims, some Hispanics and some from other groups) reveal only their insecurity and their selfishness. They will not make America anything but more divided.

If 12M people with no vested interest in assimilation become US citizens, we will see nothing more than a wholesale importation of the culture of conflict and corruption that characterizes the nations of Central and South America.

They may very well take over America in time, however, if they do, it will no longer be what they came here for. It will be just more of what they came from. If you doubt this, go to Miami today if only to see how they drive.

This will not go down without a real fight. If it goes down, the fight will simply take on another dimension and it will NEVER end.

  16. Not until the border is truly closed.

Why did Napolatano move so many border patrol from the southern border, reassigning them to the much less problematic northern border?

This is spooky dangerous stuff here.

  17. REMEMBER THESE People?? The Ones from Breitbart TV that were PRAYING to Obama? Here is their Homepage …They are ORGANIZERS too So Beware of this group and others like them I view them as very Dangerous! Like MI-13 fromEl Salvador. It’s about JOBS and our Security http://www.gamaliel.org/default.htm

  18. The Obama Fisc
Spending religion arrives a year, and trillions of dollars, too late.

this ought to cheer US up..

Immigrants from the Middle East [2002]

[Assuming no change in U.S. immigration policy, 1.1 million new immigrants (legal and illegal) from the Middle East are projected to settle in the United States by 2010, and the total Middle Eastern immigrant population will grow to about 2.5 million.]

i and many others have been warning about infiltration by the Muslim Brotherhood.. with this info at hand, i’m afraid it may be way too late for US to wake up & smell the Jihad due to the fact that they are not only in our Government, but dictating policy.. not to mention president B Hussein O being an IslaMarxist..

eh, they’v only been operating in the US for half a century
(give or take a decade).. but alas, who’s counting.. *sigh*
