Rep. Greg Walden (R-OR) today told Greta Van Susteren that democratic leaders are stripping GOP amendments from their nationalized health care bill after they were voted on and approved in committee.
Also today- Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL) also urged House and Senate Leaders to accept C-SPAN’s offer to publicly broadcast the health care negotiations like President Obama promised the American public 8 times during his campaign.
House.gov reported:
U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan (FL-13), the author of the Sunshine Resolution, today called on House and Senate Leaders to accept C-SPAN’s offer to publicly broadcast final health care negotiations. Buchanan said Congress should not engage in secret, backroom deals when it comes to writing the most sweeping health reform bill in decades.
Buchanan’s resolution, H. Res. 847, has 151 cosponsors and requires that all final negotiations on the health care reform bill be conducted under the watchful eye of the American people. Speaker Nancy Pelosi has not allowed a vote yet on the Buchanan plan.
Recent press reports have indicated Democrat leaders intend to draft the final bill behind closed doors.
“Health care reform is one of the largest public policy reforms taken up by Congress in generations,” said Buchanan. “If enacted, the final bill will impact the lives of all Americans. With so much at stake, any conference committee or meetings held to determine the content of sweeping national health care legislation should be held under the watchful eye of the American people, not behind closed doors.”

I simply cannot see how this is not political suicide for the Democrats. I mean they are blatantly lying to the American people, they know we know it and they don’t.
Even Clinton pretended like he cared.
How the hell does Obama stay close to 50% approval? I mean, who the f*ck actually thinks this joker is doing a good job?

What the “poor” people and everyone who actually want’s this bill don’t understand is that it’s not “free” healthcare.
If you couldn’t afford healthcare before, you probably won’t be able to afford it after this bill passes. This bill only forces “poor” people to “buy” it whether they can afford it or not.
Obama only has one thing to say to those who don’t support him.

Rules don’t apply to liberals, they’ll just storm the halld until they get their way. It’s been said that they just want to pass anything with this bill and then legislate more and more changes along the way until they get their Public option ect. I have to say that the Repubs. have been dupped again. This was never an even playfield and we have Olympia Snow to thank for being the deciding vote for this mess out of original commitee. She should be thrown out of the party.

The party at fault is the republicans. They are a constant embarrassment. For a brief moment when they had a majority a few years ago, they stumbled around like teenagers on a first date. Or spent all their time trying to be ‘bipartisan.’ Or looked for media opportunities like idiots. Bad people do what they do because weak people allow them to.
Rio commented:
Dem strategy is to sacrifice players for the cause and then dangle some shiny new ones in front of the electorate. See how Dodd worked out, they already have a cast of characters in line to take his seat, Blumenthal is already favored to win. With Dorgan, they are recruiting, wait for it, Ed Schultz, real sidesplitter, ho, ho, ho, but not to forget, they elected Franken, fraudulently, but he’s still there.
The voting public should think long and hard about tossing their vote to a democrat, even a new face isn’t going to change the wicked agenda the dems are foisting onto this country.

Is it?
As Bill Mitchell notes, Obama is still near 50% approval.
If we can’t develop a wider major media strategy that will force a change in the tone of coverage, there will not necessarily be a seismic shift in November.
And the near battle is to get Scott Brown elected.

I’ve had it..this is it…I can’t take it anymore..I say take back our country! The Republican Sentators, the US freedom fighters– we ALL need to file a CLASS ACTION LAW suit against congress—all of us. If 60% of America SUED congress, the worthless elect all the way to the TOP..let our supreme court tell us they aren’t corrupt!!! I am sick of this. We have a Pres who protects the enemy by giving them miranda rights–disuisting! He protects them! And then gives a speech we are at WAR?? He again talks out of BOTH sides of his mouth! This BILL is crap–and we all know it…

More than you can imagine. The Dems right now are moving actively to shut off any chance at a fair election in the future by introducing universal suffrage and making illegals legal. (See American Thinker today.)
This is outrageous and will not go unchallenged. Unfortunately, the Repubs still think they’re living in the 19th century and will do nothing to stop it. Nature, as they say, abhors a vacuum. Therefore. some one or some thing will emerge to provide leadership where none exists. What form that will take is anybody’s guess, but it will not be–I suspect–what we would expect or prefer.
jainphx commented:
If you don’t like your poll numbers, why just declare war on the pollsters. Whether the latest results are because of that I don’t know, but it is suspect. This guy is hated by everyone, yet he’s at 50%.

Re: The 50% approval rating.
Has anyone paid attention to the “average American”? The goal of the “progressive” (read: Marxist) public school system has been a resounding success! Couple that with the “do what thou wilt” attitude propounded in the 60s, along with the intentional destruction of values and mores (e.g.: children born out of wedlock used to be called bastards, now it’s the norm). Then, factor in willfully ignoring immigration laws and voila- the 50% approval rating. Of course, there are those who fancy themselves as “intellectuals” who are thrown in the mix for good measure.

I am not knowledgeable about procedure. Can they legally strip parts that have already been voted on and approved?
I guess that is irrelevant because legalities don’t seem to cause them any hesitation.
The GOP has had almost daily opportunities to fight unconstitutional moves on our behalf, but I don’t see that happening. A few may spout off, but talk is cheap.
Where is the leader that will step up? Pray on it. That person is out there.

The elections are rigged. Doesn’t matter if you are a Republican/Democrat. They are all in the pockets of the Federal Reserve, Big banks, Big Corporations and elite groups such as the CFR, Trilateral Commission, Bilderburgs, etc… It’s all coming down to the End Game in 2012. You only need to know one thing: Got Jesus?

What the Dems know that we don’t: Universal Voter Registration
[The Nation article enthusiastically lists Cloward/Piven-inspired organizations like Project Vote, the ACORN group where President Obama cut his teeth. It also discusses the left's efforts to push enforcement of the Motor Voter law, and explains how universal voter registration could assist in these efforts. Cloward and Piven were the ones who crafted Motor Voter legislation in the early 1980s and pushed for it's enactment until 1993, when President Clinton signed it into law. Cloward and Piven considered Motor Voter to be their crowning lifetime achievement. The picture below, from White House photo archives, shows Cloward (light grey suit) and Piven (green coat and navy dress) standing directly behind Clinton at the Motor Voter signing ceremony.]
