Republican Scott Brown has been running ads in Massachusetts where he is out driving around in his old pickup truck while campaigning for US Senator. Brown released this ad on January 3. Around this same time Martha Coakley reportedly went on vacation.
Here’s that ad again:

Republican Scott Brown is a regular guy who drives a truck with nearly 200,000 miles on it. He says the truck has brought him closer to the people as he’s traveled around Massachusetts during the special election to replace the late Ted Kennedy in the U.S. Senate.

Today Barack Obama campaigned for Martha Coakley in Boston and bashed Scott Brown and truck owners several times during his speech. Obama told the crowd, “Anybody can own a truck.”

Of course, Obama’s latest attack on middle class Americans surprises no one.
Obama has a history of this.

Later Scott Brown responded to the president’s attack.
FOX News reported:

Brown took that opportunity to slam the president on government spending..

Mr. President, unfortunately in this economy, not everybody can buy a truck,” Brown said in a statement. “My goal is to change that by cutting spending, lowering taxes and letting people keep more of their own money.”

  1. I have 130,000 on my SUV and I appreciate her more today in spite of you, Mr. President.

  2. “Everybody can buy a truck.”

    Really? In the Obama economy?

    Could he and his elitist, condescending, special interest owned Party possibly be more out of touch with the everday realities of the average American?

    How many pick-ups you see in your old community organized neighborhgood in Chicago, you schmuck!?

    “Anybody can buy a truck!”

    I got your truck, right here, Barry – right here.

  3. Scott Brown has a knack for saying exactly the right thing while he’s on his feet.
    Thank God this man is positioned where he is at this particular time. The nation needs him there and needs him now.

    Brown’s victory this Tuesday will give hope to other blue states and blue districts that we can smash the Democratic machine and roll back the liberal infrastructures.

    Reclaim America Now!

  4. i love that scot always has a great come back for these lid snubs like this isnt kennedys seat its the peoples seat hes great

  5. I hope that is a Ford truck.

  6. BO is one of the most mean spirited, hate filled, narcissistic individuals I have ever seen in my life. And those people who laugh at his lame “jokes” are as twisted as he is.

    His arrogance is astounding. But I do believe Humpty Dumpty is about to fall. No tears from me.

  7. Damn, looks like it’s a Toyota, or a GM. Who can tell us what kind of truck that is?

  8. Forget the truck?

    It’s a GM model Mr.Obama,you know “Government Motors”,the company your administration wants everyone to buy from in order to bail them out.

    It’s either a Colorado or a Canyon

  9. That the best, sharpest attack Obama has? See what happens without Mr Tele?

  10. I’m afraid I have to give Brown a hit too, if that isn’t a Ford truck. If it’s not a Ford he should immediately sell it and buy a Ford.

  11. Next thing we know his kids will be driving IMPORT cars.

  12. ZING!

  13. We used to live two hours out of DC, off Rt 66. From our driveway to Manassas, about an hour, pickups were the majority vehicle on the road, from Manassas into DC, mile by mile, there were fewer pickups and more sedans until around the Beltway sedans far far outnumbered pickups.

    Very noticeable. Very much a metaphor for the different “worlds.”

  14. We have four (older) Chevy trucks. Solid good trucks. Have not understood why Obama went after Chevy. Hope it didn’t have anything to do with FORD having a plant in Dearborn, with a high Muslim employment rate.

  16. how dare the little “truck owning” people question Obamas running of the government. After all he “won” fair and square, even though his background is questionable.

    He only has one thing to say to people who question his greatness.

    I drive a Ford, but I have family and friends that drive Chevy and GMC.

    Go Scott Brown!

  18. What a horrible man! He is SO out of touch with the people, and Scott Brown’s response shows the people just how MUCH he is in touch with them.

  19. Reminiscent of his “bitter clingers” comment. I still can’t believe this fraud got elected. Oh well, sounds like the public is figuring him out, finally. Even in Mass.

  20. yes I’m sure Chevy GMC and Dodge have all made fine trucks in the past, but only one has withstood the “Boosh” years and come out not needing Obama support. Everyone who can buy a new truck should buy a Ford, and the president himself said who can’t afford a truck.

  21. I’d trust any truck driver much more than I trust Obummer the limo/jet rider.
    .

  22. Do you all think your politics is limited to who you vote for? Everything you do is a vote for your politics. Shop at WalMart, it’s a vote for Obama; buy gas at BP, it’s a vote for Obama; Buy any product not made in America it’s a vote for Obama.

  23. I used to work at a company that made hot tubs, in America, but everything they could buy from China they did, now they can buy what I used to do from China, so I am useless. I know many things, but it is worthless to them, it’s cheaper from China. There will be many things and people who will be in my situation soon.

  24. If America doesn’t tax imports to the point that it is cheaper to make the product here, America WILL crash, and the rest of the world will crash with it. The only way to do this is to ban unions and “equal opportunity” in America and let people work for, and be rewarded for the work they produce.

  25. taxing imports isn’t the answer. Taxing the imports from countries that refuse to open their markets to us is another thing.

    I don’t think we need factories here making items sold at dollar stores. Our people should be making better things than that. Let India or China make the trinkets.

  26. Eric: Congratulations, you’re the first one to consider taxing non-American products in order to bolster the economy — oh wait, no we already tried that with the Smoot–Hawley Tariff Act you might remember it being the first shot in a trade war that caused a 50% shrink in GDP during a thing called the “great depression”

    That’s why you leave thinking to the smart people.

  27. So now it isn’t just about those who “cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them”…..it also is those that who own pick up trucks too?

    OMG….the next “REVELATION” from “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia” Coakley will be that there is a gun rack in the back of it.

  28. Bitter clingers to guns and religion. Now truck owners are in the cross hairs. Obama can’t stand that middle class Americans have made lives, buy houses, cars, send their kids to college and yes actually have healthcare without his permission.

    I heard on Mark Levin that Obama is interested in finding a way to take our 401K’s and IRA’s. he would then give us monthly stipends for what he would call annuities. This would be a safe way to save Obama says because we wouldn’t have to worry about the stock market fluxuations. However, he would have our savings.

  29. Obama is a tone deaf politician with a tin ear. He cannot recognize what is genuine, because it is foreign to his experience.

  30. …”Anybody can own a truck”…
    but not everybody can have a party and serve $100 a lb wagu beef or fly their wife to New York and Chicago for dates…not to mention flying in a personal chef to make us some home-style chicago pizza…

  31. Spacegenie,
    OOoo, look there is a history of the world that is a time called “the great depression”, exactly what is it that makes you think that borrowing more money than we produce is going to change the world economic profile?
    America has within it’s borders, most of everything the world needs, and can make most of everything the world needs for the next 500 years.
    After we have exhausted our resources for the world, do you think they won’t be thankful and let us live for free?
    Why exactly do you think we should share our wealth with the world?
    Is it because we have too much, they have too little, we are rich, they are poor, we are smart, they are stupid; What is it exactly that makes you think that America should give away everything for nothing?

  32. America is the greatest land on the face of the Earth, and what makes it the greatest isn’t the land that it happens to be situated upon, no, what makes America great is the law that was written for the people who live on this land. Americas resources aren’t the most vast, the most clean, the most important in the history of the earth. Americas laws are the most vast, the most clean, the most important in the history of mankind. We pay more for everything we buy from others than anyone else will pay, and we take less for what we provide than anyone else would to provide it, and we always have. We give the lives of our military people to solve conflicts around the world and ask for nothing in return for their sacrifice.

  33. spacegenie, if you are the smart people, then I pray to God you aren’t someone who is in charge of the place America should be going in the future. America has paid her dues, sacrificed her children and earned her place in the “global” citizenship that you apparently think the rest of the world has not been compensated for.

    Shame on you.

    Who do you think you are?

  34. I’m sorry to others here who I have taken their webspace to rant on, but I really don’t like being called ignorant.

  35. From http://www.dailyfreepress.com/thousands-turn-out-at-northeastern-to-see-obama-rally-support-for-coakley-1.2137288:

    “Obama agreed. ‘I’d be careful before I got into that truck,’ he said.”

    Would that someone had offered similar advice to Mary Jo Kopechne…

  36. ……..“Anybody can own a truck.”……….

    He should know, he’s married to one.

  37. It’s comforting that Scott didn’t buy into the “Cash for Clunkers” ruse! There’s a good many Americans who know the value of fiscal responsibility and drive an old car or truck.

  38. LOL!

    The last couple of weeks have been chock full of arrogant, condescending “bitter Klingon” moments and sheer stupidity out of Marcia….errrr…Martha Fitzgerald Kennedy Coakley, the Corruptocrat nobility and their king.

    It is so much fun to watch them. What is especially fun to watch is their confusion. They simply do not understand why all their scare tactics are backfiring on them, just like Marie Antoinette wondered why everyone got so upset about her saying “let them eat cake”, too*.

    xiphos,

    ……..“Anybody can own a truck.”……….

    He should know, he’s married to one.

    You really shouldn’t talk about the First Clydesdale like that. Trucks might get insulted.

    *Yes, I know that is apocryphal story so if you can not understand that it is used as an illustration of the arrogance of the French nobility the least you can do is not hijack the thread arguing about it.

  39. Yes, Eric, the problem is that it is cheaper to do many things in China and ship them across the vast Pacific. Why is that so? Could it be that the government here makes it so expensive to operate? Maybe too many regulations too many taxes? Maybe the government borrows too much and raises the cost of that as well? Maybe it caters to union block voters that strangle their industries with high costs (see textiles for most egregious example)?

    The answer is not more taxes on trade (which hurts the consumer and only makes the problem worse) but to decrease the size of this Frankenstein’s monster that is the Federal government. Make it cheaper and simpler to operate here and jobs will flow back in. Drill here, drill now, use our own resources and employ Americans rather than buy from abroad. And… ah, you know where I’m going with this.

    And, BTW buddy, I’m in the same boat with my job being outsourced to India. Would my employer rather have someone on the ground here as opposed to there? Sure, but they’ve got to contain costs to make a profit or the whole thing goes under.

    So vote Brown and maybe this monstrosity of a healthcare bill will go down and maybe some businesses will start hiring again.

    (Oh, and Obama is an elitist scum for slamming a man’s pick-up. Down south, them’s fight’n words…)

  40. The only time BO doesn’t have his foot in his mouth is when he needs to change shoes.

  41. does he drive it around? or is he just saying he does for the commercial

  42. Nothing to do with the present subject matter and I’m not attempting to change it; just impart info that some may not be aware of.

    Whether you’re a Liberal, a Conservative or an Independent you may be enlightened after watching this

    http://www.davidhorowitztv.com/restorationweekend/rw2009/272-opening-breakfast

    Lays the agenda right in front of you imo, and perhaps what can or should be done, for America’s sake.

  43. I’ve noticed one thing about people who drive trucks…

    Whenever I’m in heavy traffic and am trying to make a left turn, or in a lot and am trying to get out into heavy traffic, it’s almost ALWAYS a person in a truck who lets me by.

    People who drive trucks tend to be more courteous than people who don’t.

    Just my experience.

  44. I tried to find where I saw a comment and unfortunately I can’t find whether it was a public figure or a private citizen but either way it was very telling.

    It was to the effect that since Scott Brown is a JAG lawyer and State Representative why does he own a truck.

    That is why this campaign is cratering. It is because Martha Coakley and those surrounding her are elitists.

    I am sure the gaff she made about Curt Schilling a Yankee’s fan was because she doesn’t pay any attention to the Boston Red Sox or any other sports teams.

    To illustrate. Before graduating from tech school I had a falling out with my family. When I graduated tech school I got a job in Miami Florida. That was 9/81 when the Cardinals were in the 1982 World Series I didn’t even watch it.

    No one in Florida ever talked about professional baseball since at the time there were no Florida MLB teams. My point is I was isolated by location and the lack of interests of my peers.

  45. Mr. Elite shows his ugly face as usual. Hussein and the dems are astoundingly tone deaf.

  46. I love my Toyota Tundra! Real People drive trucks. I work, I travel, I fish, I camp in my truck.

    It is made in America by FREE Americans who are not forced into the UAW Thug Dictatorship. Pravda Motors is still losing money! Let them rot!

    Obama is a poseur, just like John Kerry. Notice Kerry is not leading the campaign for Marcia (?) Coakley. (The Kennedy family is filled with drunken buffoons. Ted was not the only one.)

    I am ashamed that I used to be a Dim-O-Crat

  47. Mr. President, I had to close my small business, file bankruptcy and lost my home. I could not afford a truck but I did manage to pay off my 6 year old car. You can imagine how unhappy I was to pay for “Cash for Clunkers”. Get a clue….. clueless. GO TEA PARTIES!!!!!!

  48. “Everybody can buy a truck…”

    …unless I’ve had it crushed after I bought it with your money because I’ve decided it’s a clunker.

  49. I think this is great that barry came to MA to add to Coakley’s inept elitist campaign. They haven’t found anything to attack Brown on so they lie and come up with lame statements about Scott’s truck? Just more elitism. They can’t help it.
    BTW, what did barry drive in Chicago? Not a truck of course. People who chose to own a truck are people who are not afraid of work.
    BO loathes real work.

  50. This seems to be a running theme with Barack Obama and the elitists. Their egos and opinions of themselves are way over inlfated. I mean, come on. The Prez is so in love with himself, he names his dog BO. Sheesh! Unfortunately for the left, there is no vaccine for “stupid”, and if there was, there would be shortage.

  51. I’ll say it again, Brown Guliani 2012

  52. Hopefully he picks a Ford for his next truck rather than a Government Motors product.

  53. Love Scott Brown and wish we had one in Missouri! His response was precisely my thought re: anyone can buy a truck.

  54. Eric
    You rock! Take all the space you need. Obamie the commie is going down tomorrow!

    Danny Arrington

  55. The pickup truck with a trailer hitch is the means by which American entrepreneurs in the trades can have a rolling workshop. This allows them to GO to ANY jobsite instead of having a fixed shop with rents, overhead and the requirement for customers to come to them.

    This enables American tradespeople to have a higher standard of living than their counterparts in other countries.

    The pickup is one important necessity to American Middle Class economic upward mobility.

    Maybe the elites need to experience a strike of the tradespeople to appreciate them better. Who’s gonna fix their clogged toilet pipes, their busted water lines, their shorting wires, install new lights … roof, paint, decks …

  56. They need to tell Obama and his communist friends to make sure they check the trunks ahead of the polls closing, just so they don’t leave any votes unaccounted for. The left always seems to find votes locked in trunks afterwards.

  57. The missed point here? Name the American made trick withe the BEST regular fuel mileage?

    A: GM Canyon and the Chevy Colorado.

    The imbecile and chief didn’t even go to http://www.fueleconomy.gov and check before yapping. Those “.gov” sites are run by?

  58. If the truck has almost 200,000 miles on it, he probably could have traded it in the Cash for Clunkers program. The fact he didn’t shows me he’s the kind of guy who’s practical and down-to-earth. If the truck is in good condition and runs fine, no need to chunk it just to get something newer or fancier. He’s obviously not a slave to the trappings of status or appearances.

    How many trucks have you owned Mr. President? If the answer is zero, how come? Are you afraid of what people might think? Would it make you look too middle-class? How many miles do you put on a vehicle before you trade it in for something “better” Mr. President?

    Us common folk want to know.

  59. vsatt
    a better question would be “who bought and payed for you, Mr. President”?

  60. For those of you who are calling for a heavy tax on all imports, I have a question: Which vehicle is more “imported”–a Honda made in Ohio, or a Ford made in Mexico? (I’m not saying there’s a right or wrong answer; I just want to know your thoughts.)

    I’ve been buying cars from the Honda family for the past 20 years, and the main reasons have been reliability and value (I hung 338K miles on an Acura Integra a while back, and my Hondas have rarely been in the shop, which is important to me as a one-man business with six worksites). But I’ll admit that the fact that my car dollars don’t go to UAW members is icing on the cake.

  61. Eric,
    Thanks for the 245 line smokescreen where you completely avoid the issue of taxing imports causing a “trade war” that completely destroys the economy.

    While I waded through your waffle, I remembered why they’ve marginalized protectionists like yourself for the last seventy years.

  62. When the Democrats (including Obama) get off their “game”….they just keep stepping in it. I can’t afford a pick-up but I have a 1996 Olds. that I take care to maintain…and it has been good to me. 113,000 miles Evidently Obama and his crowd have never seen the bumper sticker…..”A man and his truck…it’s a beautiful thing”

  63. In our household we have two vehicles, a 1997 truck and a 1997 car, both with close to 200,000 miles each.

    In this economy, we will drive them until they won’t drive anymore. Not everyone can afford a new vehicle, Mr. President. You’ve said alot of stupid things, but that has to be one of the most assinine.

    Do you see the unemployment numbers? Do you understand that even people with jobs are worried? Do you grasp the reality that many people are going hungry and without medicine because of this tax and spend government you’re running?

    Hope and change was what the people voted for and come tomorrow in Massachusetts we will vote for it again. We can’t take more of your kind of governance.

    In our household we have two vehicles, a 1997 truck and a 1997 car, both with close to 200,000 miles each.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    One car and one truck households are very common here in Texas. We’ve got a 1998 car – his dream car that he bought new and has babied – that looks like it did when he drove it off the car lot and runs almost as well, which, 12 years and 160,000+ miles later, is impressive. The other is an old GMC pickup, maybe a 1989 model, I’m not sure, that he bought used four years ago. It had been abused and needed a new transmission, which he did himself, and so it didn’t cost much in dollars but a lot of his sweat, some swearing and even a little of his blood (he leaves some under the hood of every car he works on LOL). It’s just an old work truck that we call Beater Truck. He keeps it mechanically sound but aesthetically, it’s a dog. It’s covered in little dents and dings, the interior smells funky, the driver side door doesn’t lock and only the outside door handle works, which means reaching out the window to let yourself out, which only requires rolling the window down in the winter because the ac quit working years ago. It’s an almost unbearable ride in the Texas summer heat. :o We don’t drive it much, for obvious reasons, but when we need a second vehicle or a work truck for moving things or something we don’t mind getting dirt in or on, it’s been invaluable. (So much for all conservatives and Republicans being rich, huh?)
    Obamao is so out of touch. He doesn’t have a clue what it’s like for people like us who can’t afford to buy anything right now, especially anything as big as a new vehicle. He doesn’t know what it’s like to need the use of a pickup (working, hauling, off-roading, driving on icy or slightly flooded roads, etc.) because, like royalty, he does nothing for himself, hiring others to do his heavy lifting for him.
    Scott Brown, otoh, knows what it’s like for John and Jane Q Public. And any Yankee who can appreciate the need for pickup trucks is all right by me.
  65. Seems to me that the out-of-touch elitist is the guy who’s going around blathering about his awesome truck to people who can’t afford one.
    You’re really reaching on this one, guys.
  66. Obama asks GWB to help raise funds for Haiti, and GWB steps up: a selfish man would have responsded more like the Dems did when GWB asked for their support in a war they voted for.
    Then the next speech Obama gives, he’s back to blaming everything on GWB.
    What a study in contrasts: humility and graciousness, versus arrogance and churlishness.
  67. Just some guy
    Seems to me that the out-of-touch elitist is the guy who’s going around blathering about his awesome truck to people who can’t afford one.
    You’re really reaching on this one, guys.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Who’s reaching? Brown corrected Obamao, who said that anyone can buy a truck, by telling him that most people in this economy can’t buy a truck. His truck isn’t new. He’s put over 200k miles on it driving himself around and campaigning. (How much you wanna’ bet that Coakley has hired drivers to transport her around to campaign?) He never once bragged or called his truck awesome. You called it “awesome.” Perhaps you’re jealous because, even though it’s a non-issue, your libtarded pals would have you excommunicated for driving a pickup. Idiot.

  68. Maybe the GoP should be looking for something like this in 2012:

    Brown/Palin
    or
    Palin/Brown

    What do ya’ think?

  69. I have a 99 Suburban.. Couldn’t buy a new vehicle if my life depended on it right now..

    Obama = IDIOT

  70. Hey, maybe, Obummer just let it slip that he is going to give us all a cut of our tax dollars to buy a truck. Sure would stimulate the economy and boost auto manufacturers and jobs better than giving billions to the banks.

    Can this guy be any more out of touch with average Americans? And he’s not even trying to cover that up. How dare he look down his nose at truck owners! He has no idea what a truck costs and how far one must drive it to make the cost worthwhile.

  71. The best part about Scott Brown’s ad is that he subtly advertises for OBAMA’s company, Government Motors, by showing an odometer reading of nearly 200K miles on a compact pickup truck that looks, to me, to be in excellent shape. His as is just so full of win. Oh, the IRONY…

  72. mr president. i CAN afford a truck. i have had a few chevys. right now we have a 1996 chevy 2500 long bed, (8′) extended cab. we use it to haul hay. its a great truck. we’ve always bought chevy or saturn cars; to help out the us auto worker as much as possible. (understanding a “us car” is hardly a us car anymore). however, because of you and your elitist friends, your socilaist nationilizing of GM (among many other things), we plan to never purchase GM vehicle again. god help us, we said we’re looking at ford next time. we buy cars about every 7-10 years. we usually get about 300k out of them; sometimes it takes 2 engines. but we raraely buy new before repairing as much as possible. and next time, we’re looking ford. becuase of you. hopefully by the time we need that ford, you will be gone, and the damage you have done will be repaired and more pople will be able to afford a new truck. good riddance, clown.

  73. How soon everyone forgets that it was the Bush administration that lead us to the economy we are in. This is not the Obama economy, we’re still cleaning up the mess from the previous village idiot.

  74. Spacegenie,

    Awesome response… I salute you!

  75. Anyone know what Martha Coakley drive???

  76. Hey Now, you do not mess with a real man and his truck!!!! My husband has a 2001Toyota Tundra and I am not making this up, he has 380,000+ miles on it. We are both salesreps and put a ton of miles on our vehicles. I have a Toyota Solara and it has 180,000 miles and it is a 2005 that I bought used in 2007. Back to the truck though, we have wanted to buy a new truck but refuse to until it dies! The rate it is going we will put another 100,000 on it. Now having said that, we can’t afford a payment so we have been saving for a new one. Barack Obama has destroyed this economy so well, that as commissioned sales reps, our paycheck keeps going south. I am so excited for someone like Scott Brown, regular guy, doing so well in MA. Go Scott Go!!!

  77. Hey Barry – my truck is a 1986 Chevy Blazer and I LOVE IT. Have you EVER driven a truck?

    Scott – GET SOME!!!

  78. OBTW – 220,000 miles on my truck! Go Chevy – eating and spitting Fords and Dodges all day long! Okay, could not resist!!!! ;-)

  79. so nice to see what the dems think of the people. the crowd laughs at those common people who actually drive a truck not a bmw. you know the type,, the OLD Democrat party of working people. I am disgusted by this man and the people that defend him. They all believe that we are too stupid to do anthing for our self and need them to get us through life. BOTH parties feel this way. You voter guide should be 1- whomever is an incumbant is out 2-whomever spends the most money is out as well.

  80. Everyone has missed the punchline of Obama’s ridiculing of Brown’s truck. Listen carefully after saying Martha might not want to get in the truck, he adds…. “you might want to look under the hood.” I don’t think he was refering to the truck hood. As a former speechwriter, I have a feeling that THIS was the ultimate message -as a reminder to his liberal audience about those rednecks who wear hoods.

  81. Obama is an even bigger idiot than my wife!!!

  82. Jman – That was a joke, right? At least you have a sense of humor. The blame for the current economy can be laid more at the feet of Barney Fwank and Chris Dodd than Pres. Bush.

    –JoeTexan

    “Anyone can buy a President…if by anyone you mean the SEIU.”

  83. Obama is living proof that one can be college educated and still be an world class idiot.

  84. Obama gives the common man hope of his own. He’s proven that anybody can become President. I just wish that Obama had a few more miles on him before he purchased up.

  85. Can you believe this elitist??!?! Ridiculous, he obviously doesn’t care for the real people of this country, especially not the domestic truck drivers…deplorable

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu4BZMM0q2U&feature=player_embedded

  86. FYI, the priority he talks about there includes a golf course courtesy of tax payers…there isn’t a single person in politics that deserves a vote right now

  87. Read what im saying and incorporate it into your brains, process it. “Every body can buy a truck” mean you don’t have to be a middle american farmer, plumber, construction worker, etcetera. Its in the reference that Scott Brown doesn’t say anything in his ad he just says i have a truck and i drive it, I have a truck and i drive it, i do insulation and concrete work, im just not dumb and i can think in reference to the frame of his comments, Scott Brown is also campaigning to be a senator, Obama was a senator, they are both politicians.

  88. DO U KNOW WHAT I AM SAYING?

  89. does it get better than Scott Brown ? well maybe Sarah Palin. I’m 62 and I never gave to a campaign before I gave to Sarah and I gave twice to Scott last week. I listen to them both and I remember the country and the values I belive in and I am proud of. If that makes me a “tea Bagger” then I guess I’m a proud one.
    oh yes I forgot …Chuck Schummer kiss my ass.

  90. HIS WIFE IS A TRUCK “FORD”

  91. Obama is really showing his community organizing roots. He can’t come up with anything original so he just “redistributes” his opponents’ best lines.

    Last summer he couldn’t stop talking about “death panels.” And now he and Coakley are yammering on about trucks and the “people’s seat.”

    If Sarah Palin and Scott Brown had trademarked their ideas, Obama would have to pay up.

  92. PICKUP TRUCK TAILGATES ACROSS AMERICA…..HAVE A TAILGATE PARTY TO CELEBRATE TOMMORROW !!!!! Line up your pick up trucks and drive across your city in Mass with Scott Brown signs on them !!!!

    Drop the tailgates, break out the grills, put up some balloons, turn on some good ole American music, and GIT ER DONE !!!! Break out those left over fireworks from New Years….CHANGE IS COMING….WE ARE TAKING OUR COUNTRY BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  93. Jman:
    I keep hearing from Democrats that the recession was caused President Bush, however I seem to recall that the Democratic party won Congress in 2006 and approved his budgets, didn’t they? Didn’t the Democrats promise lower Gasoline prices? utility prices? and stopping the war? They failed on all counts, and have actually passed policies to make prices more expensive.

    I also hear from Democrats that the Republican deregulation of corporations and banks is to blame. Can you please point out to me what policies the Democrats are talking about, and much more importantly what measures they have taken to fix the regulations they claim were broke since they came to power in 2008?

  94. Knock em out Scott! Id like to get Obama behind my 85 Dodge Ram truck and let him smell my exhaust. He might pull some cash out of his stash and buy my old blue klunker.

  95. Country hasn’t gone anywhere… but many of our politicians have. Sure hope we can send the message that our government is made up of the people of American… not politicians with their own agenda.

  96. I’d rather be a teabagger, than a carpetbagger!

  97. Of course he realizes it is a GMC…he wanted Scott to buy a new one–one where the profits counted on his watch as CEO….

    I guess he needs to talk to Harry Reid about how to speak “regular American” so he can turn it off and on as he needs to.

  98. Can’t wait for gas prices to skyrocket again so I can laugh my arse off at you gas-guzzling truck owners, feeding your gas tank more than the bellies of your own children.

    Just a matter of time.

  99. Look at this a^^hole bragging about his awesome truck while so many Americans go to bed truckless every night. What an elitist monster.

  100. Jman, you are so off base, especially on this topic, that it is not funny.

    Kenpon, thanks for the video link. Very informative. Lots of info I had found out myself over the past two years and it was very nice to see it put together and validated. I had to read a lot of books and articles to put together what was mentioned on that film. I’m glad I did the first hand research because I know that everything they said was true.

    Go Vote Scott Brown supporters.

    I did my part in NJ in getting Corzine out and Christie in as our new Governor. I know you all will do the same for MA. Our message is the same: good Constitutional government, fiscal responsibility, get your damn hands off our money and our rights.

  101. “anybody can buy a truck” – Obama

    Sheesh, what a total creep. You’d have to be a real jerk to say that, especially if Mr. Brown has owned the truck long enough and used it often enough to accumulate that amount of mileage.

    And that’s all he has to say against Mr. Brown? Criticize the fact that he owns and drives a truck?

    What about Mr. Obama, who originally was driving a Chrysler 300 during his campaign for the presidency until criticism concerning the contradiction of his choice of vehicle along with his supposed concern for the environment forced him to trade to a Ford Escape hybrid?

    Very weak, Mr. Obama, and oh, so out of touch.

  102. “The President can say whatever he wants about me, but when he talks about my truck thats when I draw the line!!” – Scott Brown

    Lets Go.. Get Big Mass

    P.S. I drive a 93 Altima with 217,000 miles and it gets 28 mpg still and would never have even considered a clunker trade..

    And I miss the days when GM wasn’t Gov. Motors It can ruin childhood dreams

  103. [P.S. I drive a 93 Altima with 217,000 miles and it gets 28 mpg still and would never have even considered a clunker trade..]

    and no not everyone can buy a truck!!!

  104. The bile and hatred sprouted by your conservatives is frightening to an outside observer. Obama has been the President for about 10 minutes and you seriously blame his government for your econmic issues? And some of you seriously think Palin is anything but a fruitcake? Do the world a favour, stay at home. Please.

  105. YourforeignpolicysuxNo:
    You’re positively oozing desperation. It fills my heart with joy.

  106. 500 million dollars spent on a Presidential Campaign and we get Chuckles the Clown

    The System Worked

  107. Do the world a favour, stay at home.

    Well, your mom stayed at my home last night. Does that count?

  108. My Suburban doesn’t really hold a grudge and would still very much like to meet Obama…

  109. I would vote for this man.

    I drive an Explorer, got a lot of miles on it and I love the damn thing. Obama can go take a flying leap off a cliff, and I hope when he lands…he lands in the bed of someones truck. That way, instead of taking his sorry carcass to the hospital, the owner might just say…”Oh hey, you’re that guy who has something against trucks, right? What was it you said, anybody can buy/own a truck?” Then drag Mr. High and Mighty Obama out the bed and leave him there at the bottom of the cliff.

    I am so sick of his ignorant hipocracy. The idiot preaches about how America needs a socialist healthcare plan run by the Government, when 99.9% of Americans are having more of a hard time putting FOOD on their tables. He preaches about how Americans need their automotive industry back on track, yet he is bashing people who have trucks and trying to buy up GM, et all? Sorry, a**hole, but trucks do a lot of things like carry building materials that go on to be used by contractors and construction workers to build homes and buildings. I have an idea, how about you try and do the same with your presidential limo?

    Bottom line…America needs JOBS, not some ObamaTron Healthcare plan that takes more money out of the pockets of hard working people. Americans need a LEADER, not a politician. Politicians are all the same, stabbing anyone and everyone in the back to get what they want. Money and power.

    We need leaders, not weak, spineless, power hungry politicians. Mr. Obama seems to have proven himself so far to be the latter.

  110. Obama has been the President for about 10 minutes and you seriously blame his government for your econmic issues?

    He’s been President for a year, not 10 minutes, and yes, I blame him (and Congress) for creating an extremely negative business climate, stalling the normal recovery cycle, and setting us up nicely for a double dip recession and/or hyperinflation. It could be worse, though, and will be, if they continue to push the country’s economy in the wrong direction. That’s why this election is so important.

  111. Yourforeignpolicysux “Obama has been the President for about 10 minutes and you seriously blame his government for your econmic issues?” Wake up YFPS… Who signed NAFTA? You are an idiot!

  112. So now obama doesn’t like pickup trucks, white cops and hard work. WTF?

  113. Good to know that First Thing readers believe in civil discourse . . . Actually, it is quite disappointing to read these comments.

    If Scott Brown is elected, this may be the first U. S. senator who posed nude for a centerfold. I don’t necessarily think that this should keep him from being senator, but those in the self-righteous, moralistic category might take notice.
    http://www.cosmopolitan.com/celebrity/news/scott-brown-nude-in-cosmo

  114. Kathryn:
    That first can be put alongside the first President’s mother to have nude pictures all over the Internet.
    Ann Dunham’s indiscretion is all over Google ~ its OK though they weren’t taken by President Obama’s father but by yet another of her men!

    Liberals, moralizing. Funny stuff!

  115. I am not sure what you are trying to say. But then you didn’t address the point about civil discourse so perhaps I shouldn’t be surprised. Conservatives trying to have a thoughtful response–”funny stuff!”

  116. Obama has been president for over one year now and things have not improved at all. As a matter of fact, his “tax and spend” progressive policies have driven the unemployment rate up two full percentage points since a year ago. And…the projected national debt has increased by one third!!! Obama and the dimocrats have spent more than GW Bush, Clinton, Bush I, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, Johnson, Kennedy, Eisenhower, Truman, and Roosevelt combined.

    It’s time to stop blaming Bush for the tanking economy – Dems haven’t done anything but give money to the constitutents who voted them into office, and grow the federal govt. even more than the liberal Republican Bush.

  117. Oh yes, I would much rather see a politician campaigning with a limo and driver, than a down to earth politician campaigning in his truck. daa…. I think we all have had enough, even the ones that voted for Obama. The ones that didn t vote for him… I bet you are sick of saying , “I told you so.” Stop him before he screws up this country even more!!

  118. Kathryn:
    Is this what passes as a point to you:
    “Good to know that First Thing readers believe in civil discourse ”

    A one liner? No framing, argument, or appeal what so ever?

    Dumb cum dumpsters, attempting to show their repertoire of debating skills on the Internet and failing — ”funny stuff!”

  119. “If Scott Brown is elected, this may be the first U. S. senator who posed nude for a centerfold.”

    And that matters, how?

    “I don’t necessarily think that this should keep him from being senator, but those in the self-righteous, moralistic category might take notice.”

    Rubbish.

    For one thing, you let your own self-righteous opinions guide your choices and what you say so, in essence, what makes you any better?

    Secondly, I rather Joe Kennedy take the seat, but Scott Brown is still going to be better than Martha Coakley because if this kills Obamacare, then it’s one step back towards getting the government back to obeying the supreme law of the land as proscribed by the Constitution of the United States of America and the Bill of Rights.

    Obamacare is UNCONSTITUTIONAL and supporters of this socialist atrocity are gleefully ignorant of their sworn duty as American public servants.

  120. I drive a 17-year-old truck and cannot afford to buy a new one, because I am currently laid off. Obama can go f*** himself (along with clueless, retarded, disgusting, hateful hags pelosi, clinton and boxer…)

  121. Obama can kiss my butt. GM makes a fine product, and has for many years. I currently own 2 GM pickups. An 86 Chevy C-10 with 190,000 miles, and a 98 GMC Sierra with 165,000 miles. My old 74 Chevy C-10 had well over 300,000 miles on it (and it still ran well) before I sold it. Obama just doesn’t get it.

  122. You are a bunch of long-term memory loss cases. Have you forgotten that the reason the country is indebted and in such a bad shape is because of Republican’s 8 yrs of bad decisions? Yes, now blame it on BO that has been there for a year only. At least he’s trying to do something for people without Healthcare. I couldn’t care less, I have a great Health Insurance, but being so selfish is what has this country the way it is now. After all Bush’s friends took their huge bonuses and milked the Government, now everyone wants to blame it on the person trying to fix the situation… EPIC.

  123. This new senator sends a message to all the Progressives (Communist Traitors) who have taken over MY party, the Democratic Party. Progressives (Communist Traitors) get ready to pack your bags. We are sending your PINK SLIPS soon. By the way, my last family reunion (over 200 Democrats) have all agreed to vote against any Progressive (Communist Traitor) that has co-opted our Party. We also pledged for each of us to sign up 50 other people to vote against the Progressives (Communist Traitors) this November…..

  124. Felmacar: I am sorry you are a product of the Government Run Public Option Education system. The history is that this economic problem was caused by the Community Reinvestment Act of Barney Frank and Clinton regime. This act forced Fanny and Freddy as well as many other banks to accept bad loan paper. The banks tried to dilute the bad paper by wrapping them in CDO’s, but Obama, Acorn, and the Progressives forced the issue. After all Banks would not want to be labeled as bigots. THEY caused the problem. It was just a matter of time before the whole Progressive house of cards fell. So either you are uninformed or perhaps you are one of the Progressive (Communist Traitors) who are polluting our country.

  125. Felmacar, Kathryn, Jman, Brent, Woody, and MiHi just don’t get, but then, that’s why they are liberals. Logic and liberalism do not travel together. To end the disease of liberalism you have to WANT to know the truth badly enough to find it, and you have to have enough intellect to recognize it when it is slapping you in the face. America’s ( and the world’s ) most destructive enemy is ignorance. The ignorance of the common masses.

  126. Beings that I’m here, I should also throw in that I’m sick and tired of the ignorant people who continually say things like:
    At least he is doing SOMETHING about this or that problem. The problem with doing SOMETHING about a problem is that “something” has an equal risk of making the problem WORSE. There was NO “rush” for government to enact ANY new health care bill. The world would still have turned tomorrow without one. The FACT is that the “RUSHED” piece of Marxist garbage would not take effect for 2 years. There was PLENTY of time to come up with changes in our health care system that would not have absolutely CRUSHED our country’s economy and our personal freedoms. Did you Democrats not notice this rush? Did you not notice that the 2000 page bill was full of inside deals and pork, and was not even READ by your elected officials?? The only ones that read the bill were the Republicans and , because they did, they recognized it for what it is, ….a total insult to America’s citizenry and a disaster of historic proportions for this country. This piece of crap Marxist bill, coupled with the LIE of human caused global climate change would be all that is needed to usher in a new dawn of a Marxist America and a New World Order. As for the NWO? It may be unstoppable at this point anyway, but I surely do NOT want it hurried along by the Party most bent on destroying America….The Marxicrats.
    As for the economy? The DEMOCRATS have been in charge of the country’s “purse” for ….THREE years now. CONGRESS controls the nations budget and they have had control for ….THREE years…NOT ONE. The last TWO years of Bushs’ Presidency carried a DOMINATE DEMOCRAT HOUSE and SENATE. The economic problems started under the DEMOCRAT control of the nation’s budget. The mismanagement of Fannie mae and Freddie Mac under the DEMOCRATS >Barney Frank and Chris Dodd and their ilk/PARTY caused the housing collapse
    (as mentioned earlier in the comments in more
    (and accurate) detail. The housing collapse triggered the rest. Though costly,It was NOT the war spending that put the nation in peril.
    Obama and the Marxicrat crooks and liars will now push to begin a new “green” industry and will “create” many jobs based on the absolute LIE of human caused global climate change. Watch as cottage industries spring up everywhere to avert that which was not caused by humans and can not be corrected by humans.
    The NON government/U.N. >>>FUNDED<<< TRUE scientific community has, through spotless research, condemned the IPCC findings on human caused climate change as being utterly UNscientific and politically driven ….DRIVEL. The new "green industries are going to cost us all DEARLY in the way of dollars and freedoms….all because of a well orchestrated LIE(s). Watch and see the globalists …appear to try to "fix" what never was broken, and make billions for themselves and their constituants while …."appearing" to be the "saviors" of dear Planet Earth and the wittttle helpless sheeple of the Planet.
    Ignorance of the masses…is a terrible thing.
    Watch, see, and learn.
    I'm out.

  127. I have a 2000 Dodge Durrango SUV, we use like a truck. It hauls wood (we cannot afford the expensive utilities). It carries our large family. I go every where in it. More often, than not, I ride with my dogs in my truck. It has been our “Truck”, a member of the family. We cannot afford to replace it because I am unemployed, with no health care insurance.

    So, Mr. President, NOT EVERY ONE CAN BUY A TRUCK ANYMORE!!!!!

  128. If BO and his clowns are doing the right thing, why did Mass (a deep blue state) go to republicans?

    If BO is enjoying high ratings and got his nobel prize for doing nothing to peace and his clowns have dominant control in senate and congress, why are they sweating bricks now?

    Fact is they are doing lousy job and their master clown is showing to people he is actually a clown, not a leader.

  129. How in the world the unions can support these clowns is beyond me.

  130. Hey Mr. President, sing this song:

    “This truck is made for runnin’
    And that’s just it’ll do.
    And one of these days this truck is gonna run all over you”

  131. Count me in with those who cannot afford a truck – or anything else, including health insurance. I had healthcare insurance until BO targeted the student loan industry for takeover. That eliminated my job. All my other job possibilities have gone to India (after the gov’t (Reagan) promised we would retain the service sector). I applaud Scott Brown. I hope we see more real people running for office.

  132. Why is O complaining about the truck? Its just a 5 banger.

  133. I’ve got 169k on my union made chevy. Remember if you put lipstick on a sparkling wiggle you still have a sparkling wiggle.

  134. Just think, before the 2012 presidential election Senator Scott Brown will have years more experience than Senator Obama did on election day 2008…
    And he will still have a truck!

  135. Just think, Mr. Obama. Why did Sen. Scott Brown win the dominantly liberal-Kennedy state of Massachusetts? WHY??? Because of his truck!!! LOL (It seemed that this great American invention is being branded as ‘low class’– if I may say so. Well, great Obama, elitist, yet, narrow-minded president… you got that wrong!!!

  136. What year of manufacture is this “old” truck?
    It looks very recent to me
