The word on the street is that the good independent senator from Connecticut, Joe Lieberman, may endorse Scott Brown.
Before It’s News reported, via Red Mass Group:
Hartford, CT- Joe Lieberman may be close to announcing his suppport for Massachusetts Senate Candidate Scott Brown. Citing the historical Healthcare Reform Bill as the main issue attracting Lieberman to endorse Brown’s Campaign. Scott Brown is vehemently opposed to the proposed Healthcare Legislation.
Joe Lieberman has run against many of his Democratic Counterparts in the Senate over the so called Obamacare Health Care Reform Bill. Back in December, with the public option dead, Democrats revived an old proposal to expand Medicare, but Lieberman voted no. That plan was considered by a small percentage of liberals as a decent alternative to the public option leaving Lieberman at odds with Democratic Senate Leader Harry Reid.
Speculation is such that if Lieberman were to endorse Scott Brown over the coming weekend that would most likely seal the defeat of Martha Coakley for Senate.
Latest Polling has Brown leading Coakley by a margin of 1 to 4 points.
Joe Lieberman has always been a staunch supporter of the war against radical Islam so this makes sense considering Coakley is so lost on national defense.
UPDATE: The Hill is reporting that Senator Lieberman has no plans to endorse in the Mass Senate race.

Lieberman spoke out against Yemen. He is speaking out against Obamacare and Coakley. You have got to give that guy credit.
AuntieMadder commented:
I thought Reid secured Lieberman’s vote for the health bill. No?
Jon commented:
At first I thought the headline read; Joe Biden may endorse Scott Brown, lol
UnWelcomeHonesty commented:
I’ve always like Joe Lieberman… Well, except for when he was Al Gore’s Vice President. But he’s really been a staunch ally to common sense people in the last few years. Thanks, Joe!
JHE commented:
Hey, Joe, why don’t you vote AGAINST the bill if you hate it so much?
Winston commented:
Senator Lieberman is a true American hero. I like him
NeoKong commented:
I’ll believe that when I see it.
I refuse to fall for that trick again. The thought that is there is a principled Democrat who will courageously buck Harry Reid and vote against Obamacare is a hoax.
It’s like Big Foot
Lieberman has already made his position known for all his blustering. His vote has been recorded.
surfcitysocal commented:
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Another Lieberman dog and pony show.
AuntieMadder commented:
JHE, NeoKong and surfcitysocal, thanks. That’s what I thought. Lieberman is going with the political winds and jumping on the winning side in an attempt to gain someone’s – anyone’s approval and popularity. You can appreciate his support for Brown for whatever it’s worth but don’t assume the man is doing it for us or even for Brown; he’s doing it for his career.
Just_Saying commented:
[Excuse me.] Don’t believe Lieberman, who said he’d vote against Obummercare, but voted for it!!

JC commented:
This doesn’t make sense because Lieberman supported the health bill. The only way I see this happening is if Lieberman decides to switch parties. He could use Scott Brown as an example of what kind of Republican he will be.
vagabond trader commented:
Joe,sit down and zip it. You were for hellcare before you were against it? You vowed to support Dodd after he dumped you. Your pic is under the dictionary definition of “mealymouth politician.”Supporting the WoT is simply not good enough.
Yehudit commented:
Leiberman should stay out of it. No one is going to vote for Brown on Leibermans say-so who wasn’t going to already. He has pissed off everyone Right & Left with his healthcare switcheroos. I could see moderate Dems who are considering Brown do a U-Turn if Lieberman endorses him. It would be almost as bad as Palin endorsing him.
Joe, stay out of it
DisgustedPatriot commented:
Leiberman did NOT vote in favor of Obamacare.
I live in CT. & never voted for him, but the man has stood by his convictions especially after running with AL BORE. He’s not a looney far left politician. More Centrist leaning right. Push came to shove, this man is not for a socialist Govt & would protect our Constitution. I love it when he pisses the Dems off.
PD Quig commented:
Lieberman isn’t bad for a far-left, used-to-be Democrat. Unlike the pure-bread moonbats, he still believes in national security. On the other hand, he pulled an el foldo and voted for the Reid bill when the chips were down.
He is reliably liberal on social and economic issues. So don’t go overboard with praise for the man. Just because he gets defense, his other views and votes cannot be dismissed.
DaMav commented:
i don’t know if this is a good move. Lieberman gets the liberals worked into a stew, which is the exact opposite of what we want to see to minimize their turnout.
Sickofobama commented:
Great but didn’t Joe vote for Obamacare?
BigAlSouth commented:
Don’t criticize Lieberman for his vote for the Senate’s version of ObamaCare. He knows that ObamaCare is the rope with which the Dems will hang themselves.
Look, if Brown did not have the issue to run on, do you think that he would be where he is today, on the verge of upsetting Martha Coakley and making history? I think not.
ObamaCare is THE penultimate issue that frames the deficiencies of the modern Democratic Party as way too far left center left.
Dell commented:
Joe would have a much greater impact if he said “I look forward to voting ‘NO’ with Scott Brown”, rather than announce support for him. An endorsement is “ok” (in small letters) but his vote against Obama Scare would be HUGE.
bear commented:
We have known for some time that the “reconciliation” process removes the need for further cloture votes on this bill. The obamster can provide cover for nine or more liberals to hide. This phony stance by lieberman smells like sewage overflow.
Terry in Georgia commented:
Hey, don’t criticize Joe Lieberman. We all have our own opinions on several issues, but the one thing I know with all my heart is that Joe Lieberman loves this country and will give national security and foreign policy the high regard they deserve. There aren’t so many folks I’d trust with my life, but in terms of my country, he is a true patriot.
And we all agree there are issues that need restructuring with regard to healthcare, we just don’t need to bomb the whole system to fix the areas that need repair. In order to even begin negotiation of any change, THIS BILL HAS TO DIE. It can’t be fixed.
Cnation commented:
Unless something’s happened that hasn’t hit the news yet, Lieberman is in favor of the senate health care bill, making it highly, highly unlikely that he’d openly support Brown.

The rumor is FALSE, acc. to “The Hill.” They checked; see here:

I like Lieberman, and believe that he has bucked the democRATS on a few occassions because of principle — but he has shown, too often, that his career is his main motivator. And I believe that that is what would drive his endorsement of Brown (not that it should be repudiated, however).
If Joe feels so deeply that obiecare is deeply-flawed, why doesn’t he just vote NO resoundingly – and let the chips fall where they may?
vagabond trader commented:
@ # 17, Disgusted Patriot. Lieberman most certainly DID vote for hellcare. See, the magic of obfuscation is working, even on a resident of CT who should know with certainty how their senator voted on this monstrosity.
