Were you wondering why Obama is having such trouble corralling Ben Nelson into voting for his health care plan?
Check out these numbers from a new poll in Nebraska, via Leavenworth Blog:
“If Senator Ben Nelson votes in favor of this plan, would that make you more likely or less likely to support Senator Nelson when he runs for re-election?”
More likely: 26%
Less Likely: 61%
No wonder Nelson’s balking.

I honestly believe that Senator Nelson wants stronger language regarding the abortion funding…along with a couple of other sections that he’s not happy with. BUT, the Libtards are sick and tired of caving in to Lieberman and Nelson – they’ve gone bonkers over this thing and now want it defeated!
O Bomber will have a personal “chat” with Senator Nelson from Dopenhagen and, shortly thereafter, we’ll all experience Nelson committing political suicide.

According to a Senate aide, the White House is now threatening to put Nebraska’s Offutt Air Force Base on the BRAC list if Nelson doesn’t fall into line.

I sent this to my reps in Congress and the Senate today, telling them that it’s obviously extortion and then asking them if it’s also treason.

Senator Nelson has always been a staunch supporter of the unborn, and I am not surprised to see him stand strong on this principal alone. He’s a bit of a porker, but nonetheless a good man, despite that naughty D by his name!

This is total bull. They can’t close Offut, it is SAC ( Strategic Air Command ) for the Air Force. I guess you could move it, at the cost of how many million or billion of dollars. but would that make sense? Also, the last time I was there, that is where the President’s planes are all based out of.

It’s much more than that in Nebraska: Nelson will have to move and take his family. He won’t be employable. No waiting university job, no consultancies, nothing. He’ll be a pariah and his family untouchables.
My parents are in Omaha, one retired and the other in the university. Both have been uninvolved with politics since Goldwater. Both are ready to march, volunteer and make sure any Senator from their state that ignores a commanding opposition by the people will be permanently unemployable and unwelcome in any institution.
Incidentally, the Democrats had better take note: the violation of parliamentary procedure in the Senate yesterday has suggested to many that the Democrats are completely lawless now. Might makes right is not the way you want to go right now. This nation has greater grounds for trouble than the riots in the 1960s and the detachment and conflict of the 1860s, but people have been patient. I wouldn’t push the people any further.

Spayandneuter, for the day or so that I believed the rumor, even though I knew that those who had allegedly made the threat knew they couldn’t follow through on, it still bothered me that the threat was made. Extortion is any ugly thing. Treason is even uglier. Know what I mean?

It’s interesting. Last night on Foxnews, he was asked if he was going to vote for he healthcare bill and he simply answered ‘yes’
Last night a pro-life group in Nebraska held a rally to send Nelson a message, and the Governor has sent Nelson a letter that the bill is very bad for the people of Nebraska.
Hopefully, it is a VERY hard choice for Nelson. Let’s hope the folks in Nebraska keep ratcheting up the pressure on him.

Voting for Obamacare should end ALL of their careers. This administration is such a joke I’m really surprised that so many of our elected officials are willing to lay on their swords for Obama. Of course, the big pay offs will come to help them pay the bills until they can find a real job. It’s all about bribery, coercion and corruption. I’ll give Obama one thing he has proven without a doubt just how corrupt our government is. Time to get them all out and put some true Americans in who are willing to do the bidding of the people. These clowns are more in it for what we can do for them in stuffing their pockets than anything else. That’s blatantly clear.

Pray hard for this guy, folks. If it took $300 million to bribe Mary Landrieu, can you imagine what kinds of carrots and sticks they’re using on Ben Nelson right now? Obama, Rahm Emanuel and of course, Dingy Harry are very, very nasty operators, especially Obama, Emanuel and the rest of the Chicago bunch, all inspired by Saul Alinsky, who spent the 20s hanging out with the Al Capone crowd. They are Mafia-style THUGS. Remember Obama and his “pitchforks” threats earlier this year? Remember Sarah Palin being threatened with gang rape, and her Wasilla church being burned down? We’ll never know what goes on behind closed doors, I guess, but I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if actual physical threats are being made….
As I said, PRAY HARD for this man! The pressure on him right now is the closest thing to irresistible you’d ever want to face.
