Senator Sholdon Whitehouse (D-RI) slammed the 55% of Americans who oppose the democrat’s government takeover of health care. On the Senate Floor Whitehouse said those who opposed Obamacare were (racist) birthers, right-wing militias and aryan groups.
Via Breitbart TV
The Washington Times reported:
After explaining why absent GOP members who did not vote for the Department of Defense spending bill was tantamount to a “no” vote, he went on to say that Republicans and their supporters just want to “break” the momentum of President Obama.:
“Voting ‘no’ and hiding from the vote are the same result. Those of us on the floor see it. It was clear the three of them who did not cast their yes votes until all 60 Senate votes had been tallied and it was clear that the result was a foregone conclusion. And why? Why all this discord and discourtesy, all this unprecedented destructive action? All to break the momentum of our new young president.
They are desperate to break this president. They have ardent supporters who are nearly hysterical at the very election of President Barack Obama. The birthers, the fanatics, the people running around in right-wing militia and Aryan support groups, it is unbearable to them that President Barack Obama should exist. That is one powerful reason. It is not the only one.”

Have we had enough yet, or shall we say thank you can I have another. This is not the country I fought for anymore. My G-D people they are bribing our elected reps with our money, they vote on bills that haven’t been written in back rooms without the light of day.
They belong in prison not in elected office.

Slappy commented:
What a simpleton and child Whitehouse is. You would think a reasonably educated individual would see how moronic such comments are, but that’s just me expecting more from people who have the ability to directly impact my life so significantly like this tool. His side is trying to pass a plan that will increase taxes, spending, and the deficit, while negatively impacting our health care quality but yet thinks that conservatives are only against this because we hate Obama. Great critical-thinking skills. This is the type of argument I expect from liberals on blogs, not from a U.S. Senator. You would think out of 310 million people in this country we could find 100 reasonably intelligent people to serve as U.S. Senators that don’t resort to sophomoric insults. But as Whitehouse illustrates, apparently we can’t.

This guy doesn’t make sense. It is all the Americans are against the health care bill and don’t want the government take control of it. The Democratic Congress and Mr. Obama lied to the American people before they won the election last November (The Demcratic stole the election). They have broken their promise and they don’t listened to them what they want. Obama’s job appoval is going down because of the economy. It is the job stimulus bill that caused the problem that the Americans to lose jobs. The government needed to stop spending too much money before it goes bankupt. It is not Bush’s fault. The Democratic Congress will lose big in 2010 and Mrs. Pelosi won’t be the Speaker of the House anymore. Mr. Obama will lose the election in 2012. His job approval rating is still keep coming down very low below under 50%. Mr. Obama has a lack of inexperience and leadership. I would like to see Gov. Mitch Daniels of Indiana or former Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska to be the next President in 2012.

Reader Rob Crawford writes:
One of the things that bugs the living (expletive deleted) out of me about this type of rhetoric is that it is, on the margin, a self-fulfilling prophecy. People with good-faith objections find themselves lumped in with nut jobs, cranks, and thugs, and after a few decades, the “as well hung for a lion as a lamb” attitude. If objecting to government running your healthcare, controlling access to your medical records, confiscating another 30%+ of your labor and effectively drafting the medical industry means you’re an Aryan, right-wing militia, “birther” type, well, maybe you should give those groups another look…
I’m not going to claim the Republicans are innocent of this type of rhetoric, but, well, at least when they pointed out that the primary organizer of “anti-war” marches was the Communist group ANSWER, they had evidence to back them up.
Now before some government agent shows up at my door I will state that I am not advocating the following in any way, shape or form. I am making a prediction based on knowledge of history and an understanding of human nature.
The fact that all these Senators and Congresscritters have done everything they can to avoid all contact with their constituents (including holding seminars on how to do it) they are in for a big surprise (to them at least).
History teaches that in the end people like them find that they have nowhere to run to, nowhere to hide and no one will save their sorry hides-their paid “security details” will decide that they are just not worth dying for. They also better learn some history as to what happens to people like them and their associates, enablers and families too-it isn’t pretty. In France they used guillotines, in England they were hung, drawn and quartered (which is a very nasty way to die, BTW). In Italy Mussolini and his mistress were killed and their bodies hung upside down and used as pinatas by the people of Milan. In other countries they were hunted down like dogs and hacked to death-their bodies left for the vultures to consume.

Incidentally, if what Whitehouse said is true in that at least 55% of Americans are “birthers,” meaning that the majority of citizens would like to see proof that Obamao is who he says he is and is eligible for the office of the prez, then it’s high time that he make his personal records (bc, passports, marriage license, school transcripts, medical records, etc.) public. Omg. That man is a blatant, bald-faced liar of the worst kind. He denies saying it and offers the speech in which he said it as proof that he didn’t say it. That is indicative of a pathological liar as opposed to your typical lying politician, who will admit to saying it but will try to convince you that you misunderstood the message being conveyed, that his words were taken out of context, that he chose his words poorly, etc.

“The current state of the news media is partially to blame for the public’s general lack of information vital for responsible citizenship in a democracy. The news media has become an aspect of show business, offering merely infotainment. It has evolved into an entity that tends to function as a public relations agency for wealthy and powerful multinational corporations, members of Congress, the current Presidential Administration including the administrations that preceded it. The news media is being utilized as a political tool of suppression and propaganda by those in power, and propaganda is psychological in nature. Full of half-truths and utter misinformation, it’s an arrogant and very commercial strategy that is implemented because it appeals to emotions, fear being the main one relentless talk of national security, personal and community safety, can trigger childhood insecurities and indoctrinated views of authority.”

Sen. Kyl Responds to Democrat’s Accusations
“For the most part, I certainly recall the long conversations that the ranking Republican, Sen. Grassley, and the chairman of the committee had. I know they worked in good faith and it would be best if we did that. It’s to that end that I want to speak to some comments that a colleague earlier made today, and I don’t know whether it’s frustration or maybe just the lens through which partisans view things and their opponents, unfortunately, that spawned the remarks earlier today from one of our Democratic colleagues. But in either event, his characterization of his Republican colleagues, I think, requires response.
. . .
“Now, I wouldn’t believe my ears, these references to one of the first and most vicious attacks on the Jews by Nazis, hanging of blacks. The majority leader’s remarks last week comparing the Republicans’ position on health care to the pro-slavery movement were largely ignored as the clumsy offhand ramblings of a partisan, but the references earlier today appeared to be not off-the-cuff mistakes but prepared text, deliberately delivered by one of the brightest minds of the Senate.
. . .
“There are honorable people on both sides of the aisle who obviously have to agree to disagree. But our colleague attributes no good motive to Republicans whose ‘passions’ are simply ‘malignant’ and ‘vindictive.’
. . .
I wonder if my colleagues really believe that our position is
animated by hatred. Why else would we oppose this legislation?
. . .
“Does my colleague really believe that this is why I
oppose the legislation, or my colleague, John McCain?
. . .
I don’t like this bill. That’s why I oppose it.
. . .
“But finally, my colleague turned the world upside-down by arguing about the only reason that we’re here the week before Christmas is because of Republican bad behavior, that we ruined the holidays . . . because we followed the procedures of the Senate that require the reading of the bill. . . The reason it’s read is so our staff would in fact have time to read it, to advise us — we didn’t all have time to read it ourselves — and to advise the public, our constituents, of what’s in it. Again, we received it yesterday, we’re voting on it tonight. That’s very little time to know everything that’s in there, and the more we learn about what’s in there, the angrier a lot of people get.
. . .
“This is why we oppose the bill. It’s why we don’t like the process. We respect what our constituents are telling us. We believe this bill will be bad for them and it will be bad for our country. Our Democratic colleagues have a different position. Neither their position nor ours is malignant, nor should they be expressed vindictively.”
