Nebraska Republicans set up the official “Give Ben the Boot” website after the senator announced he would vote with the other 59 democrats in support of Obamacare today.
67% of Nebraskans oppose Obamacare.

The announcement today officially ended Nelson’s career in Nebraska, at least according to this latest poll, via Leavenworth Blog:
“If Senator Ben Nelson votes in favor of this plan, would that make you more likely or less likely to support Senator Nelson when he runs for re-election?”
More likely: 26%
Less Likely: 61%

If I weren’t running against Mikulski, I’d give ol’ Ben here a run for his money.

Thanks. I’ve already emailed this link to my contact list here in Nebraska. I have a feeling however, that Nelson will likely announce his retirement rather than go down in flames. Either way this seat will be back in Republican hands come the next time its up. Look for Gov Heineman to step up and run for it.

This libtard schlemming (mutant cross between a sheeple and a lemming) probaly thinks that since he isn’t up for re-election until, I think 2012, he can get away with this sellout. I do hope Nebraskans have a long memory.

Glad to hear it. We need good Conservative Republicans booting ALL of these liberal Democrats and RINO’s out.

We have one party using taxpayer money to buy votes from reluctant legislators. We have a bill that won’t even be revealed until it’s voted on. We have one of the most massive bills in history being passed against the clear will of the public and by strict party-line vote.
This will be a shameful day for the Republic.
Robert commented:
Ben Nelson, who talked so much about principles, was simply bought off by a promise of extra funds directed to his state from the rest of American taxpayers.

I’m sorry, but this doesn’t make any sense. Why would Nebraskans give Nelson the boot for bringing home the bacon?
I live in the 5th Congressional District of Minnesota, and up here, we had a representative who consistently brought home the bacon. We not only continually reelected Rep. Marty Sabo, we built a lavish bridge and named it in his honor.
What you do not understand is that all of these deals that Nelson made for his state were done with FREE MONEY that would have gone somewhere else, had this great man, Bill Nelson, not held out for.
Senator Nelson has done Nebraska proud. He’s bringing home the bacon and will cruise easily to repeated reelection from a grateful public that has it’s pockets open to all the bacon that’s coming home.
Redwine commented:
We all know what the (rush, rush) “stimulus” funds are for. It’s simply a slush fund stolen from the taxpayer, the small business owner, the middle class to “stimulate”, to bribe and prop up wavering Democrats, RINOs and Friends of the Islamo-Marxist Regime (SEIU, ACORN, Code Pink, ANSWER, etc.) and as a regime-friendly stash to buy out ignorant, easily convinced voters in weak areas like inner cities (who will probably be knocked off by the public health theft scheme).
We are about to get Son of Stimulus for more of the same. We are being robbed blind. They know we will be busy rooting out the traitors while they are very hard at work to overturn and decimate our Constitution.
We have very precarious and dangerous times ahead. The regime knows that Conservatives can be easily distracted by minutiae, small stuff. We have to band together as a force and put aside the small differences. They are out to divide and conquer. We must create a unite force under the banner of our Constitution.
We should build mirror forces to counter the likes of the ACLU and the SEIU. We must not allow the treasonous Left to overthrow this nation.
Cynic commented:
Toaster: The party of corruption has Acorn and Seiu to help in the upcoming elections.
Grace commented:
Scott, Let me know where we can get some of that “free” money. All Americans looking for “free”money come to Nebraska and enroll in their Medicaid program funded by “free” money.
Hedgehog commented:
Scott Jerome: There is no such thing as “free money”. It comes from somewhere. What you mean is “other people’s money”, and the problem with the thinking that you evidently endorse is that eventually “other people” get tired of being robbed by charlatans. What Nelson did was sell out for the modern day equivalent of thirty pieces of silver. It won’t last long, and the people of Nebraska may soon come to regret it. As for Nelson, I’m certain that aside from what he is admitting that he “got” in return for his vote, he also got a promise of lifetime security in some Soros funded operation where he will never have to face the public again. He was elected to represent the people of Nebraska in a manner that is consistent with the Constitution, and he has, to his eternal shame, sold out. It cheapens the Senate to the point where principles are all for sale. If you think that that is somehow admirable, I feel sorry for you, and if your shallow thinking is widespread, I weep for this country.
Chris in Manassas commented:
As Senator Coburn stated..we are facing a “Crisis in Confidence” in our government. They are ignoring polls and the will of the people because they have the votes to do what they are being bribed to do.
The republic has endured over time because adherance to the consitiution and the will of the people and as with the British rule, when people no longer feel the government is acting in their best interest steps will be taken to remove it.
CDR M commented:
With the way this government is writing checks, I don’t think the country could afford to support the deal Nelson got and the deal will be rescinded in the future. Remember, with this President, ALL promises have an expiration date. This health care bill is all about power not health care. It’s probably going to take a lot of people dying before this bill will get undone in the future. The next big business in this country will be overseas vacation hospitals like the Europeans already flee to in Thailand and India. 5 Star hospital/resorts. Costa Rica would be a nice place to set up one for Americans. I bet a lot of US Doctors would go and do that in a heart beat.
squeaky commented:
“He’s bringing home the bacon and will cruise easily to repeated reelection from a grateful public….” heard the same argument made for chris dodd. he’s bringing home the bacon – never mind all the little incidentals. of all the things that nelson qualifies himself as – pro-life isn’t among them. what a crass society we’ve become. now how many pieces of silver is it….
Mahdi Al-Dajjal commented:
Simple… The Dems will just pour an extra billion or so of “free” taxpayer money (already skimmed off the top of the Stimulus Bill otherwise known as the “Democrat Re-Election Fund of 2010 and Beyond”) into local Acorn groups throughout Nebraska who, from now until when Ben is up for re-election in 2012, will have sufficient slush funds to pay local criminal types, leftist college students, unemployed blacks, and other operatives, $25/hr each to go forth and actively register to vote the names of dead people listed on every gravestone in every graveyard in the entire State.
And as these very same groups did before the last election in November pretty much throughout America, their operatives will, at the very last minute, dump boxes and boxes of “filled-in” voter registration cards on the doorsteps of each local Registrar’s Office so that none of those names can be verified in time before the polling booths open up. (Once they win the election, no charges are brought).
Make no mistake about it… These people are experts at scamming the system.
Bottom line? Ben’s re-election as US Senator from Nebraska is virtually assured.
Blacque Jacques Shellacque commented:
Memories won’t be as short as they once were.
Don’t count on it. Nelson won’t be up for re-election for another couple of years. For the typical ignorant voter – and there’s a lot of them – that’s an eternity.

Conservatives will wait for him in the long grass. He is now voting for Socialism. He can no longer masquerade as a conservative. Nelson could have fireproofed his position by standing up to Barack the Socialist. His shameful u-turn on abortion will come back to haunt him. He has sacrificed the unborn. His has been an abject surrender. He is a political coward.
He is now voting for the culture of death. Pro-life voters have long memories. So have taxpayers.

Toaster, 802.. you raise an important question.. why, if these people want to get re-elected, are they walking off the cliff for bills that are obviously out of favor with the majority of American voters.. do they know something we don’t know about the upcoming election? It seems odd if they don’t that they wouldn’t have more fear of flying in constituents’ faces over major policy issues, despite the bribes they’re bringing home off taxpayer’s backs. What if anything do they know which would explain their behavior, I wonder.

I hope my point still comes through that to Democrats, while shepherding their liberal programs, actually believe in the concept of FREE MONEY. Senator Reid even went so far as to defend the deal made with Nelson as a legitimate avenue to making deals. They think we are too dumb to know the difference between corruption and beneficence on behalf of “the people”.

Republican politicians should start circulating the notion that as soon as they regain a majority (2010), the will act as quickly as the Dems have to make sure all congress members, current and retired, are subject to the provisions of the laws they pass. I think this would be a wildly popular concept, and difficult to rebut. Though Obama might veto such legislation, it would ensure his lame duck status in a one term presidency.
Dems may think they can rig elections with Acorn and SEIU, but they cannot overcome the tidal wave numbers (55-65%) that oppose them.

It’s not just acorn, seiu, black panthers, etc. that we have to be concerned about. George Soros has been busy with his influence and money in state politics as well; i.e. – getting libtards elected as secretaries of state on the state-level that answer to him by pouring money into their campaigns. Secretaries of State verify election results. And with these libtards in charge in key battleground states as well as other states, it may be hard for Conservatives to overcome especially if the libtards pull any shenanigans, (think Al Franken times 1000), in 2010/2012.
