Thank goodness.
The junk science talks in Copenhagen are falling apart.
The BBC reported:

The African delegation is unhappy over moves by the Danish government
Negotiations at the UN climate summit have been suspended after developing countries withdrew their co-operation.

Delegations were angry at what they saw as moves by the Danish host government to sideline talks on more emission cuts under the Kyoto Protocol.

As news spread around the conference centre, activists chanted “We stand with Africa – Kyoto targets now”.

Informal talks continue, and the UN climate convention head said the formal agenda should resume in the afternoon.

Blocs representing poor countries vulnerable to climate change have been adamant that rich nations must commit to emission cuts beyond 2012 under the Kyoto Protocol.

  1. They still working on swindling the money, no science required. This AL Tony Blair said so what the science is a lie, we should do the transfer thing anyway. Do you get the feeling it’s all about a giant slush fund for the world’s wanna bee dictators?

  2. This is what happens when you based your scam on junk science.
These people look like 3rd world crooks, all of them.

  3. Of course it doesn’t need the science, now that the science has been outed as questionable at best. I don’t get the feeling. I’m convinced none of it has to do with “Mother Earth”.

Somewhat analogously, Mark Steyn also recently noted:

Yet perhaps the most important revelation is not the collusion, the bullying, the politicization and the evidence-planting, but the fact that, even if you wanted to do honest “climate research” at the Climatic Research Unit, the data and the models are now so diseased by the above that they’re all but useless. Let Ian “Harry” Harris, who works in “climate scenario development and data manipulation” at the CRU, sum it up. Mr. Harris was attempting to duplicate previous results—i.e., to duplicate all that science that’s supposedly settled, and the questioning of which consigns you to the Climate Branch of the Flat Earth Society. How hard should it be to confirm settled science? After much cyber-gnashing of teeth, Harry throws in the towel:

“ARGH. Just went back to check on synthetic production. Apparently—I have no memory of this at all—we’re not doing observed rain days! It’s all synthetic from 1990 onwards. So I’m going to need conditionals in the update program to handle that. And separate gridding before 1989. And what TF happens to station counts?

“OH F–K THIS. It’s Sunday evening, I’ve worked all weekend, and just when I thought it was done I’m hitting yet another problem that’s based on the hopeless state of our databases. There is no uniform data integrity, it’s just a catalogue of issues that continues to grow as they’re found.”

Thus spake the Settled Scientist: “OH F–K THIS.” And on the basis of “OH F–K THIS” the world’s enlightened progressives will assemble at Copenhagen for the single greatest advance in punitive liberalism ever perpetrated on the developed world.

And with journalists such as Friedman and fellow Timesman and active participant on the East Anglia email list Andy Revkin cheering them on. If America isn’t quite yet the one-party autocratic state of Friedman’s dreams (shared by those who publish, and many who’ve toiled over the decades for the Gray Lady), an imaginary climate change crisis is the easiest way to make it happen.

And hopefully the last way, if enough American people come to their senses and say “F–K THIS” themselves in response to the attempt to simultaneously dupe and control them.

  7. This is a surprising and encouraging turn of events since it’s been the focal point of the Marxist agenda.

I harbor no illusions, however. This Marxist congress and its C-I-C will ram Cap and Trade through. Just because it’s failing on a global level, doesn’t mean it’s going to stop them here in the good old USA. Nothing has stopped their coup thus far. Why should a petty thing like the truth…or We, the People, for that matter?

I still harbor hope that we shall prevail. Don’t you?

  8. #3: That’s because they are third world crooks.

  9. The developed countries have (finally) figured out that the rest of the countries want us to fall back to their status.

    Not going to happen.

At last, the blinders are off.

  10. In Touting ‘Climate Justice’ Protesters, Networks Oblivious to Communist Participation

Network journalists who were quick to see racists, haters and extremists amongst the “tea party” protesters were oblivious on Saturday to communists in the “climate justice” march in Copenhagen whose cause they trumpeted — even as the video they showed included brief shots of marchers waving red flags displaying the Soviet Union’s hammer and sickle.

  11. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=121352495&ps=cprs December 14, 2009 Global warming is now officially considered a threat to U.S. national security.

For the first time, Pentagon planners in 2010 will include climate change among the security threats identified in the Quadrennial Defense Review, the Congress-mandated report that updates Pentagon priorities every four years.

The reference to climate change follows the establishment in October of a new Center for the Study of Climate Change at the Central Intelligence Agency.

The projections lead us to believe that severe weather events will increase in intensity in the future, perhaps in frequency as well.

    - Amanda Dory, deputy assistant secretary of defense for strategy
But the new attention to climate concerns among U.S. security officials does not mean the Pentagon and the CIA have taken sides in the debate over the validity of data on global warming. As with nuclear terrorism, deadly pandemics or biological warfare, it only means they want to be prepared.

“I always look at the worst case,” says one senior intelligence official who follows climate issues. “Whether it’s global warming or the chance of Country A invading Country B, I just assume the most likely outcome is the worst one.”

Military officials, accustomed to drawing up detailed plans for a wide variety of contingencies, have a similar view.

“The American people expect the military to plan for the worst,” says retired Vice Adm. Lee Gunn, a 35-year Navy veteran now serving as president of the American Security Project. “It’s that sort of mindset, I think, that has convinced, in my view, the vast majority of military leaders that climate change is a real threat and that the military plays an important role in confronting it.”
((SNIP))Climate change could also have implications for ship and aircraft designers.

“When you talk about building ships that are going to last from 30 to 50 years or programming for aircraft that are not going to be put in the air for 20 years, you have to be thinking about the kinds of changed conditions into which you’re going to throw them in the future,” Gunn says.

Still, there is only so much military planners can do to prepare for the consequences of climate change. The 2010 Quadrennial Defense Review, due to be delivered in February, is required to identity what global warming may mean for the Defense Department’s “roles, missions and installations.”

  13. Just more smoke and mirrors. They will all settle
down as soon as they get offered more money.

  14. And what happens to aid given to African countries? It creates more millionaire and billionaire African Presidents! Only a tiny part of the money reaches the people.

  15. That was fast …

COPENHAGEN – Poor countries ended a boycott of U.N. climate talks Monday after getting assurances that rich nations were not conspiring to soften their commitments to cutting greenhouse gases, European officials said.

European Union environment spokesman Andreas Carlgren said informal talks resolved the impasse, which was started by African countries and backed by major developing countries, including China and India.

Rich and poor countries “found a reasonable solution,” he said.

Developing countries agreed to return to all working groups that they abandoned earlier in the day at the 192-nation conference, said Anders Frandsen, a spokesman for conference president Connie Hedegaard.

  16. Ahhh, the poor countries aren’t getting their cut?

Too bad. Suck it up and do something different, like treating your children with medicine, stop the wars, build a community of cooperation within your own borders and you’ll find you don’t need the cash.

It’s not like you are sitting on diamonds, gold, oil, land, and other resources…. Jeez

  17. Science writer Andrew C. Revkin, the individual journalist most identified with reporting on climate change, is leaving The New York Times.

  18. The 3rd world is playing us for fools. They want us to destroy our economies while giving them trillions of dollars all while playing the victim card and the Western left eats it up. Screw them. Develope your own countries without Western help you backwards retards. I have zero sympathy for these countries and ultimately their livelyhoods are NOT our responsibility. We already give enough welfare checks to morons in this country. The last thing we need to do is to start giving out international welfare checks to the Osama loving and America hating 3rd world. Besides, global warming hysteria is all bullcrap anyway. Spend American money on American families! Not foreigners! Screw the neo-communist “environmentalists” and their wealth redistribution schemes!

  19. Actually the Earth has been cooling down for the last 10,000 years and we are about to go into another great ice age — we are between ice ages at this moment in the Earth’s development.
