You just can’t make this stuff up…
Harry Reid says they’re not sweetheart deals. They’re “compromises.”
The Hill reported:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Monday dismissed criticism his chamber’s healthcare bill was riddled with “sweetheart deals” designed to win skeptical senators’ votes.
Those alleged deals are “compromises” that are commonplace in any piece of legislation, no matter who controls Congress or sponsors the bill in question, Reid told reporters.
When do I get my compromise?
UPDATE: Later today Harry Reid slammed those senators who didn’t secure a “compromise.”
The Politico reported:
“Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) offered a vigorous defense Monday of the deals in the Senate reform bill that benefit individual states, saying ‘it doesn’t speak well’ of senators who didn’t secure such deals …”

Reid’s intentionally using the word “compromises” to identify bribes because 1) compromises to gain support of bills is common and 2) his constituents are stupid enough to vote for him so they’re stupid enough not to know the difference between a bribe and a compromise.

When Blago did this, it was illegal, when Reid does it, it is *legislating*? Give me a break.

You have already been compromised
by your government.

Yea, I heard a snippet on the radio of his explanation. He said something along the lines of: any Senator that didn’t get compensation for his state, simply didn’t ask. Or something like that.
The whole thing stinks.

Yes, these senators with ethics should be ashamed of themselves, not holding out for their piece of America. Handouts are what true libs are all about, and if they missed that, then too bad….right, Harry?
Just slice this nation up and dole it out to your favorite weasels…it is theirs for the asking.
Harry Schell commented:
I think the slam on Senators who didn’t ask for something is sort of like Obama’s “I won.”
“You schlubs didn’t kiss my ring, now you look like fools compared to the others. I, the Great Reid, dispense all favors in the Senate.”
Maybe for a little while longer he will…
The Hill.com says “Reid vindicated in vote…”
How can you be vindicated by ramming through the single worst legislation of this (and most of the last) century?
Those who think of Reid as a snake surely have been vindicated.

Even the hopeychangies have been sold out by their illustrious leader. DOUBLE DIGIT insurance stock increases while the the Dow’s is 2.3 and Nasdaq 1.4 for the same time period (end of Oct to last Friday). Add in todays big jump and it is a huge payola for the insurance industry. Not so much for “we the people”.

You can’t make this stuff up. They just tell so many lies. I hope the voters of Nevada will vote Mr. Reid out in 2010. He is the worse US Senator in this history. He is doing Mr. Obama a favor to win the health care plan. When the Republican get control back both US House and US Senate next year, I hope they will change to the health care reform. The employees at CBO need to be fire from their job. They are fraud. It need to be clean up. They don’t know how to figure their math right to tell how much money the government have. The employees of Obama Administration will be out of the job on Jan. 21, 2013 when we have the Republican President in the White House and Republican Congress. I would like to see Gov. Mitch Daniels of Indiana or former Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska to be the next President in 2012. Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee won’t get the nominee in 2012. They are done.

Nebraska’s Governor Heineman should call Nelson on his “calling of a bluff” that he would rescind his deal if the Governor insists. A future congress will take away the benefit anyway, this is a sucker’s deal for Nebraska that will leave it’s representatives susceptible to this exact sort of political nonsense and pressure in the future.
Joe commented:
See, it’s not a lie if you believe it. That’s the way liberals see things. “If I say it is true, it is true, whether it is ACTUALLY true or not.” All that is necessary is that they wish/say something is true and it becomes so.

I agree this bill is unconstitutional. They cant mandate buying insurance. They should not be able to tell private companies what and who and how to cover run their business or how to pay their employees or distribute their profits. This should scare he hell out of everyone. These people need their a$$es kicked. I mean literally not figuratively. I know Im not the only one who was hoping Harry scamartist Reid or Botox Nancy would have a car accident this weekend. Its sad but I dont care anymore. This cant stand. We need to kick them all out of office or better yet impeach these bastages for stomping on the constitution they swore to uphold and defend. Nobody will buy insurance till they need it. If they think they will force me. They better come with guns cause I plan to have mine. This bill is the biggest pile of BS I have ever heard. Im tired of liberals like Maura Liason and Cokehead Roberts telling us we will all love it after its passed and nobody demands the constituion be followed. Nobody just calls a spade a spade..or in this case Obama and Reid and Liberals LIARS and Criminals. This bill is tax and bend over. Try MAKING people buy a car…then MAKING them pay for it for 4 years and then let them drive it and call it paid for and legal. These people should be in jail with Bernie Madoff. 2010 cant come fast enough. Then listen to the liberal talking turds tell us Oh it wont hurt the Dems in the elections. These people are so freaking out of touch. Its worse when they work for a govt run /funded news org. My first act asPresident would be to defund PBS, NPR, NEA, Then work to make it illegal to discriminate against rich or poor in taxing one person more than another. The same goes for taxing one product more than another. How is it legal to tac smokes or pop, or tanning more than any other product just because idiot politicians and liberals dont like it. Screw them all.

Some day the cons are going to learn that the other side also knows how the game of politics is played. For example, if Nebraskans doesn’t feel like having Offutt Air Force Base moved to a more civilized part of the country, they’ll cooperate. It was Chuck Colson, Nixon’s right-hand man and the originator of the “enemies list” who said: “When you’ve got ‘em by the b**ls their hearts and minds will follow. Hey, we’re just copying a page from your own book.
HistoryWriter commented:
Sorry for the grammatical error. It should read “If Nebraskans DON’T….”
Freddy commented:
Barak Obama ran on a campaign that claimed that he would veto any bill that contained earmarks.
Now, Harry Reid is claiming that if you did not get enough of your own earmarks into this bill, you are a bad senator.
Which of these two is more corrupt?

How do you get a straight answer from “Dirty” Harry Reid? Perhaps a ‘slip and slide’ version of water-boarding.
Regardless, here is my straight question for you Harry:
IF this bill is truly a ‘great foundation’ for future health care, then why are the following necessary?
1. One AM vote for cloture
2. buying off those who represent the votes you need
3. ALL drafting and discussion behind closed doors
4. A completely partisan vote to pass
5. The removal of numerous reckless provisions
6. Abortion in, Abortion out, in, out…
7. Moving things along at the speed of light
and on and on….why sir are all these necessary to pass such a spectacular piece of legislation?
