Czech President Vaclav Klaus says global warming is a “politician’s myth.”
He also compared environmentalism to the ideology of communism. Klaus sat down with Peter M. Robinson from the Hoover Institution in November.

In retelling his experience of living through the Velvet Revolution, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the lifting of the Iron Curtain, Vaclav Klaus offers his views on what students today need to understand about life under communism. He also defends his opposition to the idea of a European superstate — “I do not consider the Lisbon Treaty to be a good thing for Europe, for the freedom of Europe, or for the Czech Republic” — and compares the ideology of environmentalism and global warming alarmism with the ideology of communism.

Vaclav Klaus, I love him.
He was trying to stall the Lisbon Treaty up until the very last moment. He was the last head of state to give in to this sham and only when the own supreme court threatened with removing him from office.
French foreign minister Kouchner had the guts to say that Klaus was stalling the wishes of 500 million Europeans. A statement that is an outright lie. 500 million Europeans were not allowed to vote on the treaty. The wishes of 500 million Europeans were ignored by people like Kouchner. But the reckoning will come.
Klaus is one of the few voices of reason in Europe. He and Wilders would make a good team.

Of course they’re the same. Everything being proposed by the left world wide involves expanding power and control … and stealing as much money from the productive as possible.
Money is used not only to enrich the Marxist elite, but to buy the third world and developing countries.

And, btw, remember what Obama and the rest of the Corruptocrats wanted to do with the tax money from Cap n’ Trade–spend it on re-architecting the health care system. Which says it all–Cap n’ Trade wasn’t to stop AGW, it was a way to extract money from the citizens to throw at yet another government program to control those same citizens.
You do have to admire the pure, circular elegance of it all. Because as the earth continued to warm, then more taxes would have to be extracted to ‘fight’ that warming. We already know that the earth has been as much as 4 degrees C more than now in the relatively recent past (Roman Warm Period), so there was a lot of upside to taxing industry based on “warming”.

Of course I’d rather destroy that proof than allow you to see it, because I’m a scientist and I get paid by government funds.
I also have absolute proof of sasquatch, but you can’t see that either.

Can I use your proof to write another research paper about why Global Cooling is happening and caused by CO2? I have some more ways to torture the data, but need to cite you for support.
Then we can peer-review each other’s papers.

Klaus is great, love him.
And while he loves being the lonely skeptic, he’s not just sniping from a distance… he walked right up to Al Gore at Davos and said “I don’t think there’s any global warming”- and afterwards stated that he just finds it unfortunate that the Warmists aren’t willing to listen to opposing viewpoints and reason- because “I DO listen to opposing viewpoints”.
Good man… and he was saying these things LONG before it was fashionable…

There’s a big talking point out “The debate is settled…” First “Global Warming” and yesterday, Howard Dean talking about Capitalism and Socialism.
Rush has said that science isn’t about “consensus” so it’s a fallacy to argue on those grounds.
Here’s a real-life example of “consensus” blocking scientific progress:
Dr. Marshall of Australia, and his fight to get his proof accepted that about 90% of all STOMACH ULCERS are caused by infection of the H. Pylori bacteria.
He had his proof, his testing, his CURING of ulcers in his patients, but the ULCER Research CONSENSUS was ulcers were STRESS- produced, and Ulcer-MANAGEMENT was the ONLY option.
The CONSENSUS ulcer researchers REFUSED to acknowledge Marshall’s results, year after year he presented his data and conclusions. TEN YEARS! At last, TO GET RID OF having to LISTEN to the by now quite agitated MARSHALL, a leading ulcer expert grabbed the procedure in disgust, and proceeded to run the tests in his lab – expressly to prove the results were crap. He came back and APOLOGIZED.
Marshall was RIGHT. 90% of ulcers were caused by a bacterial infection.
Egos, snobby and clubby consensus medicine.(Marshall was from a smaller Australian hospital, what did HE know more than they smarter than he knew?)
Half-baked, unfinished but trendy prion research (mad cow) got a Noble prize in medicine before Marshall FINALLY got HIS Noble Prize in medicine – his discovery that the bacteria EVERY ULCER EXPERT KNEW ABOUT, spent it’s time drilling tiny holes thru people’s stomach linings.
Endemic in Third World, common in even First World, the H. Pylori bacteria infects hundreds of millions of people worldwide, a gateway infection to stomach cancer.
Ulcers are down by the hundreds of millions world wide and so is stomach cancer down by the millions.
CONSENSUS made scientists BLIND to what was right in front of them, made them dismiss results out of hand, and BLOCKED consideration of new information.
How many people DIED during those years Dr. Marshall was trying to get out his results to the public – and the CURE – a course of easily available antibiotics?

The Czechs and most of eastern Europe know what its like to live under tyranny having had to put up with the Austrians, Germans, Russians and other minor despots so they know that that global warming scam will just bring the world under more totalitarian rule.
