Another uninvited couple met Barack and Michelle Obama at a White House breakfast.
FOX News reported:

It was not a state dinner, and they did not crash it on purpose.

Still, a couple who showed up at the White House a day early for a tour somehow wound up at an invitation-only breakfast with President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle. It left to the White House once again to explain how people who were not on an event guest list wound up being ushered into the presidential mansion anyway.

The improbable adventure of Harvey and Paula Darden, Obama supporters from Georgia, took place on Veterans Day, two weeks before Virginia socialites Tareq and Michaele Salahi infamously crashed the Obamas’ state dinner for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The Dardens mistakenly showed up a day early for a tour scheduled through their congressman.

The White House and Secret Service both said the Dardens went through the appropriate security screenings and were allowed into the breakfast as a courtesy because there were no public tours the day they arrived.

  1. I understand that ACORN travel agency is responsible for booking this tour.

  2. If he keeps this up, you really WILL be the most open president since the old days.

  3. I have to whiz… I wonder if they will let me in.

  5. I would have been pi$$ed off had I arrived thinking that I would meet my congressman and instead I had to suffer through breakfast with Barry and Michelle.

    “Yo, O, pass the pork…sausage!”

  6. Was this another “mistake” by the infamously incompetent social butterfly Mz Desiree Rogers — of Vogue fame?

  7. Actually, I think this was good PR. Inviting Americans in to breakfast. How is that bad?
I would think this is something, Reagan or Bush would do.

  8. “The White House and Secret Service both said the Dardens went through the appropriate security screenings and were allowed into the breakfast as a courtesy because there were no public tours the day they arrived.”

Sounds to me that it was a favor the WH did for them, not a breach in security. I can’t believe FOX even bothered to write this article and, for the life of me, can’t even guess why you decided to echo it.

I personally know a woman that was given a similar opportunity with G. W. Bush, except it was a lunch.

  9. If you read the whole article it says that they had to show PHOTO ID before they entered the event….
So let me get this straight…..
obama & acorn don’t want us to show photo id to vote but to meet the obamas, well…. that’s a different story.

  10. I would rather have breakfast at an Al Quada traing facility. Oh, wait, same difference. This is the safest President in history. Using todays political definitions, every presidential assasin came from the left. Us good conservatives are not into that sort of thing. If some one were to take him out it would cost Trillions. Well, Trillions more. Think of all the monuments, schools, stadiums and federal buildings that would have to be renamed. How much would it be to put him on Rushmore?, cause that’s what would happen. Major cities would be burnt to the ground. The LA riots would look like a drunken Irish (drunken Irish? That’s redundant), family reunion in comparison. Besides, to the Kenyan, humiliation is worse than death. I look forward to his humiliation. No security force can protect him from that. The White House, The Peoples house, has been turned into open Mic night at the Apollo. It’s shameful really.

  11. There is something about this that doesn’t pass the smell test. I’m sorry but I don’t trust anyone in this administration and they do not exactly strike me as polite and people loving.
I do not think the couple of secret service did anything wrong but it sure seems like security around the WH is weirdly lax and there seems to be a method to every madness surrounding these idiots in the WH.
Don’t know what the truth is but I’m sure we will know sooner or later.

  12. It was good judgment to sit them for breakfast. What I don’t understand and would be ashamed of is that there were no tours on Veterans Day.

  13. ^ good point

  14. I don’t see this as an entirely bad thing. The people showed up at the right time – on the wrong day; and the Secret Service – being the kind-hearted souls that they are, and taking pity on out-of-towner’s, invited them in for a little breakfast with the “president”.
It all makes sense to me.

I guess that, the next time I’m in Dc, I’ll have to drop by the white house about lunch time (DC restaurant prices are pretty steep). I’m sure that barry and mo would set an extra plate for an errant tourist.
