Trial Begins For Corrupt Baltimore Mayor & Obama Supporter

The trial began on Monday for Obama supporter and Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon on corruption charges.
Dixon was a top Obama supporter during the 2008 election.

The New York Times reported:
Mayor Sheila Dixon went on trial on corruption charges on Monday, the result of a state inquiry started in 2006 that has cast a cloud over Ms. Dixon’s administration despite her best efforts to keep the focus on running the city.
The case involves seven counts of theft and embezzlement stemming from accusations that Ms. Dixon used $1,500 worth of gift cards intended for needy families while she was City Council president and mayor.
Ms. Dixon is also likely to face a second trial on two perjury counts in the coming months. Those charges stem from an accusation that Ms. Dixon failed to report gifts on city ethics forms — cash, travel and clothes — from Ronald H. Lipscomb, whom Ms. Dixon dated in 2003 and 2004. During those years, Mr. Lipscomb’s company received millions of dollars’ worth of city tax credits for its development projects.

It looks bad for her but that ain’t nothing when you compare it against what sort of favors and influence Barack Obama did for his crony Tony Rezko as a state rep.
Compare that to the Petrobras 2 billion dollar loan guarantee to a company heavily invested by George Soros.
I could go on and on for an hour about all the money that Obama has been shifting away from people. What Sheila Dixon has done looks like stealing penny candy compared to that and Obama is just getting started.

I live in Maryland and it is ten times more corrupt than NJ. This will be a blip on Dixon’s screen – she will get off scott free and return to her “office” to continue running Baltimore into the ground. O’Malley was elected Governor because he was such a terrible mayor; the people wanted to get him out of Baltimore. Dixon is equally as horrible and furthermore, illiterate.

In Dixon’s defense, the prosecution has been horrible. I think two years ago, investigators made a highly publicized raid on her house.
It’s been two years for crying out loud. If they had a case you’d think they’d have convicted her by now instead of dragging out this process.

I live in the area and it’s a given for us. Once the prosecution fails to get an unbiased jury out of Baltimore, the case is nothing more than a waste of taxpayer money. She’ll be “vindicated”. The majority of the jury is five African-American women and it only takes one to make conviction impossible.
There’s actually a third developer, Glenn Charlow, that gave her gift cards to for church activities. Results of that investigation aren’t being made public. Dixon is known locally as Sheila the Shoe (she once pulled a Khrushchev).
