Pressure Builds On Geithner to Resign…
Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) calls on Tax Cheat Obama Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner to step down today during a House hearing.
Geithner supported the disastrous financial decisions that saw the national deficit triple in one year under Barack Obama:
Geithner sharply rejected the call to resign and blamed the current state on what he inherited from Bush.
Republican Brady blasted Geithner:
It’s been a year since the President was elected,” the panel’s ranking Republican, Rep. Kevin Brady of Texas, said at a hearing this morning featuring Geithner. “It’s appropriate for the American people to assess how well the administration’s economic policies are working. They are not. They have failed.”
“Unemployment has skyrocketed far past the White House’s projections and promises. America continues to shed jobs: more than 2.8 million since the stimulus was enacted,” Brady said. “We’ve had a series of embarrassing investigations about all the wild stimulus claims, the latest fake jobs from fake Congressional districts… You are the point man on the economy,” Brady said to Geithner. “The buck, in effect, stops with you.”
Ouch.
Democrat Rep. Peter DeFazio of Oregon called for Geithner to step down yesterday.

And his outright lies are unbelievable–unemployment was at 5.26% under Bush, little timmy’s stimulus package was supposed to keep this administration’s unemployment UNDER 8%. We were told by this idiot that if we did NOTHING, that unemployment would go UP to 8%–how does 10.2% sound? Brady is absolutely right, this little weasel should step down–if he had an ounce of dignity, he would.

Editorial: Asking questions
The preliminary work of the OCE indicates that there is no shortage of ethics issues since Democrats took control of the House. A confidential report leaked accidentally last month showed that the Ethics Committee had looked into at least 30 lawmakers this year as part of inquiries into possible violations of House rules.
Nobody has been accused of wrongdoing, but among the names on the list are Reps. Charles Rangel (D., N.Y.), the powerful chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, and Rep. John Murtha (D., Pa.), chairman of the defense appropriations subcommittee. Murtha and other appropriators are under fire for their questionable relationships with defense contractors.
The Ethics Committee has begun full investigations into Reps. Maxine Waters (D., Calif.) and Laura Richardson (D., Calif.), probes that were recommended by the OCE. The committee wants to know if Waters violated ethics rules by helping direct federal bailout money to a Boston bank connected to her husband, and whether Richardson got special favors in a real-estate deal.
The OCE’s role in ethics enforcement is important and should be preserved. It’s no accident that the House Ethics Committee is once again busy after a long, self-serving hibernation.

Well, my one of my least favourite former Prime Ministers of Australia (Gough Whitlam still remains the worst PM ever), Paul Keating had a few harsh words to say about Geithner when Obama insisted that this idiot should be appointed to that role. It was Keating who reminded people that Geithner was responsible for “f’ing up” the Japanese economy with policy prescriptions that were an utter failure…. this happened when Tiny Tim was appointed to that international organization. For all his smart power Geithner has been a real ditz when it comes to the application of his economics knowledge.
