The support for the democrat’s nationalized health care plan fell to a new low this weekend.
Rasmussen reported:

Just 38% of voters now favor the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s the lowest level of support measured for the plan in nearly two dozen tracking polls conducted since June.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% now oppose the plan.

Half the survey was conducted before the Senate voted late Saturday to begin debate on its version of the legislation. Support for the plan was slightly lower in the half of the survey conducted after the Senate vote.

Prior to this, support for the plan had never fallen below 41%. Last week, support for the plan was at 47%. Two weeks ago, the effort was supported by 45% of voters.

But it doesn’t matter.
Democrats will still ram their socialist health care plan down America’s throat.

  1. Blanche Lincoln said that those who think this is about her re-election don’t know her. Well Senator Lincoln I don’t know you personally but I know that Congressional Democrats care nothing about their voters and their voters will react according next November. You can now be labeled as a Martyr to Obama’s agenda. Big Woop!!!

  2. They are getting great new jobs.

These guys know how to bribe…It must be Alinsky Rule #1

Hussein likes low approvals….he is one step closer to amnesty and cap and trade.

Ratify a couple of treaties and he has completed the taking down of America.

ACORN/SEIU will take care of elections a few more tricked out voting machines and it is Chavez Country.

    Thanks 52%

  3. Support is falling becuz hard-working, patriotic Americans know that the dems are “doing sex to” them…….

  4. And that 37% is without any detailed understanding of what is in Dingy Harry’s 2,000+ pages of government control. Just what has managed to leak out over the weekend. If the population knew what was really in the bill, approval ratings would drop into the 20% range.

And I cannot understand why. Who wouldn’t want to spend trillions of $$$ we don’t have to insure another 13 million people while reducing quality of care for everyone, getting panels of government “experts” (aka death panels) to decide what care we should get (like those mammogram recommendations?), slashing coverage for the elderly, destroying medical device and drug development, and forcing doctors out of health care?

And we know the care they are proposing for us is so good that the federal government and Congress will use it themselves (wait a minute….)

  5. Without knowing the exact internals:

Overall result: 38% favor, 56% oppose

But, the previous results were 47% favor, 49% oppose

Half of the surveys were before

  6. Without knowing the exact internals:

Overall result: 38% favor, 56% oppose

But, the previous results were 47% favor, 49% oppose

Half of the surveys were before the Saturday Senate vote, thus half were after the vote.

So, what was the real approval as of the last day of the tracking survey?

Well, we know that support had varied from 41% – 47%, prior to this survey. So, best/worst case:

    Best-case:
    Pre-Senate vote: 41% approve
    Average: 38% approve
    Post-Senate vote: 35% approve

    Worst-case:
    Pre-Senate vote: 47% approve
    Average: 38% approve
    Post-Senate vote: 29% approve

So, just based on the tracking trends (support was trending up prior to the Senate vote, and was trending down through and since the Senate vote), by the end of the most current tracking survey, the actual support is somewhere between 29% to 35%

Interestingly, the same analysis can be made for the opposition, also (based on results from previous tracking surveys):

    Opposition:
    Pre-Senate vote: 49% oppose
    Average: 56% oppose
    Post-Senate vote: 63% oppose

So, just based on the tracking trends (opposition was trending down prior to the Senate vote, and was trending up through and since the Senate vote), by the end of the most current tracking survey, the actual opposition is somewhere between 56% to 63%

I would actually imagine that the tracking survey includes a bit of a dip (this week) or a spike (last week), as it is difficult to imagine such a huge shift in actual public opinion in just one week (week-to-week), or, more strikingly, from one day to the next within the poll itself.

Given the long-term trends, it appears that the past two weeks’ surveys were the anomaly, as support has been trending down for months, just as opposition has been trending up for months.

    Among those strongly opinionated, FTA:

Intensity remains stronger among those who oppose the push to change the nation’s health care system: 21% Strongly Favor the plan while 43% are Strongly Opposed.

That means that, of the 38% who support, only 55% strongly support; while, of the 56% who oppose, 77% strongly oppose.

Most damning for the democrats, FTA:

As has been the case for months, Democrats favor the plan while Republicans and voters not affiliated with either major party are opposed. The latest numbers show support from 73% of those in the president’s party. The plan is opposed by 83% of Republicans and 70% of unaffiliated voters.

And as a reminder, here are Rasmussen’s current weightings:

Currently, the baseline targets for the adult population are 37.5% Democrats, 32.2% Republicans, and 30.3% unaffiliated. Likely voter samples typically show a slightly smaller advantage for the Democrats.

Who knew the Congressional Democrats were such rabid supporters of euthanasia?

  7. Who knew the Congressional Democrats were such rabid supporters of euthanasia?

Any party that believes they can tax, regulate, and nationalize the USA into prosperity and peace against the wishes of its citizenry has to be delusional. Maybe they are hoping for amnesty for millions of illegal hispanic aliens and Acorn voter fraud to get them through the next election….

  8. ++

Democrats will still ram their socialist
health care plan down America’s throat.

oh i’ve no doubt, as they’ve out & out said
that’s exactly what they’re going to do.. :-(

and like i’ve been posting about for months now.. they have to or part one
of their takeover plan passed back in February will have to be dismantled..

good luck with them doing that..

bottom line: this whole “debate debacle” is a farce..

think of me what you will, but i assure you, this is no joke..

welcome to the new world order

  9. If this were really about health care reform, the Democratic Party would have abandoned it long ago. The American people just don’t want it.

This is about an unprecedented expansion of government regulation, an unprecedented expansion of government unions, and an unprecedented expansion of government dependents. Those three factors will convert to billions of dollars pouring into the Party’s coffers.

Although it may mean losing ground in the next two congressional elections, they are betting that in the longer term nationalized health care will make the Party the permanent ruling elite.

And of course, George Soros is in the background, spending furiously and pulling strings. He is so, so close to his ambition to destroy the US economy, as he has destroyed so many others.

  10. Nothing happens when we don’t comply. Anarchy is around the bend. Violence cannot be far behind.

  11. Question: does anyone know for certain if they can use reconciliation to pass this bill? I understand from some other posts that reconciliation can only be used for budgetary purposes…

    thanks!

imho they’ve all had the wool pulled over their eyes, they know of Obama’s
ambition to form a one world government, and are aiding & abetting him..

    ~ B Hussein O

sounds like the beautiful Utopian dream everyone has either had
or will have at one time or another during their lifetime doesn’t it..

i mean, who wouldn’t wish for no suffering & peace on Earth, etc..

unfortunately, reality speaks a different language..

  13. That government person who will come between you and your doctor in reality will be an SEIU union thug.

Connect the dots. Nationalized health care is all about jobs for the zillions of SEIU members who stand to gain unfettered access to the millions of doctor’s offices and hospitals across this nation to organize and unionize WITH complete government approval.

    Rationing here we come.

    Dimwits.

Question: does anyone know for certain if they can use reconciliation to pass this bill? I understand from some other posts that reconciliation can only be used for budgetary purposes…

    thanks!

No, they cannot use reconciliation – not that it would help them, due to the two contentious issues (and more, if GOP Senators are smart): Abortion funding and the Public Option.

Regardless of what comes out of conference, both houses have to accept the conference report without further amendment, or else the process (basically) starts all over.

Thus, if Stupak gets stripped in conference, then the conference report will fail in the house. If it is kept in, then the conference report will fail in the senate.

If the Public Option gets added in conference, then the conference report will fail in the senate. If it gets removed, then the conference report will fail in the house.

And the GOP senators can make things even more interesting, if they add amendments for contentious issues such as coverage of non-citizens (esp. illegal aliens).

The Democrats just don’t have the numbers to make the bill pass, when all is said and done.

(Assuming, of course, that Collins and Snowe don’t defect. If either one does, then things could get dicey.)

  15. Every single mother, father and child from the states of Louisiana, Arkansas & Nebraska who cherish their freedoms MUST ORGANIZE and start to PROTEST en masse at the offices of
    ” Louisiana Purchase” Mary Landrieu,
Blanche (Trailing All 4 of My Republican Challengers in the Polls) Lincoln
and Ben ( Libtard’s Lapdog) Nelson..
Every day, every hour, these 3 Senators need to hear the voices of YOU, their constituents.. every citizen opposed to the obamanation HELLcare will deliver us into, stands with you.. Call, protest, demonstrate.. let these 3 Senators know where YOU STAND STARTING TODAY…. we cannot go like sheep into the “new world order” bg talks about. Godspeed.

  16. Thanks very much for the clarification Chip Bennett!
