She is absolutely right.
Good for her for fighting back.
Newsweek was being sexist in their Palin hit piece:
palin newsweek
The far left magazine published a hit piece on the former governor to celebrate her book release this week.
From her Facebook page:

The choice of photo for the cover of this week’s Newsweek is unfortunate. When it comes to Sarah Palin, this “news” magazine has relished focusing on the irrelevant rather than the relevant. The Runner’s World magazine one-page profile for which this photo was taken was all about health and fitness – a subject to which I am devoted and which is critically important to this nation. The out-of-context Newsweek approach is sexist and oh-so-expected by now. If anyone can learn anything from it: it shows why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, gender, or color of skin. The media will do anything to draw attention – even if out of context.

  1. This lousy rag mag was sending my office a comp subscription last year to prop up their circulation. At least Sarah looks good and much better than having to look at Pant Suits on the cover.

  2. Come on, Sarah! How else can a magazine with declining circulation and increasing irrelevance sell more copy!
(btw, you look mahvalous. . .)

  3. She looks great, fit and smarter than the average liberal. Newsweek should be retitled Propogandaweek. I will vote for her if she runs. Palin is pro America, unlike the dolt that is running the country now.

  4. A long time ago, I subscribed to Newsweek… It stopped when it became an empty opinion rag…

  5. ADVERTISEMENT

  6. I’d give the cover 2 thumbs up…by the way, the ongoing topic of media bias is getting pretty tedious. The left, right, and the middle are more than likely aware of it by now.

Anyone who buys Newsweek will probably buy it because she looks great on the cover and the cover is different and eye-catching (for a change), not for the content of the hit piece. Good for you Sarah, for fighting back.

  8. Here’s the test.
Have they ever shown Thunder Thigh Clinton in the same way?
The fact that they have to attempt to make Sarah Palin seem trivial is not an accident.

  9. ‘How do you solve a problem like Sarah’

This really paints Newsweek as a Democratic political Magazine.

Only Democrats should consider buying it. Wait a second, from their sales even democrats are just not buying it. Oh well, at least they will be saving the trees!

  10. Newsweek is trying to diminish Palin as a political opponent because the Left is terrified of her. She does have what it takes to take back America for the Conservatives.

Besides, Palin sells when compared to the choices from the other side of the aisle. It’s a no-brainer when money is involved!

  11. When I’m browsing newstands in airports or stores I always cover up the Newsweeks with Sports Illustrated.

  12. Wait….didn’t she consent to these photos for Runner’s World? Apparently she thought it served her well at the time.

  13. I object more to the way they covered the blue star mothers banner. They should have used the entire photo without deliberately covering up part of it with their headline. Being a liberal magazine, I think there is no way they wanted to illustrate something that would show support of US troops.

  14. Sexist? LMAO She posed for the photo!

  15. Great, Newsweek.
Show a fit person that actually walks the walk, instead of showcasing your big-butted Fotus that just lectures on veggies.
Go ahead and shoot your own foot- I’m not the one buying your shoes.

  16. Newsweek has malicious agenda to feature Sarah Palin in short outfit. There is double standard here. All democrats operatives present women as gold diggers, sluts, sex objects and props wives of disgrace politicians. No, I don’t plan to buy or read Newsweek.

  17. Sarah Barracuda!

  18. Yes LIBTARD MORONS she posed for the picture for RUNNERS WORLD.
Maybe you dumb fux get your NEWS from runners world????

  19. Really, where do they get the money to print and distribute Newsweek?

An inquiring public wants, just the least bit, to know.

  20. Show me a feminist and I’ll show you a sexist who believes femininity is dirty, lowly and demeaning.

  21. This is a GOOD SIGN. The Libs are letting us know who they fear. Lest we forget John McCain. Sarah is straight up and in your face. Watch what happens when her book smokes the NY times bestseller list.
    WE conservatives ARE the Majority.

  22. Go Sarah!!

  23. The difference between Palin and everyone else who’s appeared on the Newsweek cover is, She makes that cover look good.

One wonders just what Newsweek’s agenda was. A nice photo and a reference to a beloved movie character. The movie character based on a real person whose energies couldn’t be contained by an organization, so she was sent out to a remote villa. Whereupon, she found ways to renew hope and dreams in a faltering family until finally she is forced to lead them, along with the dispirited leader she reinvigorated, to safety. Their lips say no, no, no but their actions say yes, yes, yes.

  24. So what did NEWSWEEK do? They used a stock photo from an article from Runner’s World, threw it on their cover and … HOW does this hurt Palin? She runs, what 7 miles a day or some such? 5 kids and she looks like THAT? Woo-hoo! Looks FIT for office, don’t she?
Hillary or Janet Napolitano in shorts would make people faint at the check-out.

  25. Newsweek is a filthy rag. I canceled my subscription 20 years ago.

However, with apologies to Sarah and Scott Palin, she sure looks better on the cover than the queen of cankles, Hillary.

  26. JKB has it right. smarmy libs think they now everything but they couldnt even get thier hit parody right.

  27. I am curious and can’t seem to find out if Runners World is published by the same publisher as Newsweek. It would seem to me that there would be copyright laws applicable here.

I think that people that already don’t like her will get that the picture deliberately does not fit the article in an attempt to marginalize her.

If she is so inept and unimportant they would leave her alone.

She is a force to be reckon with if she wasn’t they wouldn’t spend so much time on trying to diminish her influence.

  28. Mongo to fit Chewbacca Obama’s ass on that cover would need a fold out two pager.

  29. Sarah looks good. She will break records for sales of Newsweek no doubt simply because she’s there.
Tom has it right, the liberals are terrified of her because she represents normal Americans.
    OT
Regarding women in politics. Did you hear about the movie they were going to make about the O’s? Apparently they’re auditioning Patrick Ewing to play the part of Michelle.
hahaa jk, but it is plausible.

  30. I like her exponentially more everyday….and because the left hates her…I know I’m on the right side of things.

The rabid moonbats have only one giant orifice anymore. They speak, eat, breath and defecate from the same place.

  31. How do you solve the Sarah Palin problem?

Elect her if she runs, without the Mcain baggage and the problems solve themselves. This country will jump up, thrive and become the United States of America again.

  32. The cover just amplifies the fear the left has for Sarah. Go ahead, make her national news….

  33. Newsweek Editor Jon Meacham told Yahoo! News that the photo choice was simply the “most interesting image available”:

“We chose the most interesting image available to us to illustrate the theme of the cover, which is what we always try to do. We apply the same test to photographs of any public figure, male or female: does the image convey what we are saying? That is a gender-neutral standard.”

OK, let me get this straight Sarah Palin was the Vice President candidate for the Republican Party and the best picture to promote an article about how “she is bad for the GOP, and everyone else too” is a picture of her in running shorts?

What does “to illustrate the theme of the cover” actually mean? Is not ANY cover picture that you chose going “to illustrate the theme of the cover” since it is a cover illustration?

Sometimes I think the elites of this world are all nuts! All the “uneducated” feel like they have to agree with these idiotic statements to look smart or they feel there lack of understanding is due to their lack of knowledge.

  34. Seriously? She is bad news for the GOP, and the left would have a problem with this, how? Hardly. The mere fact they promote Palin as being bad for the GOP, just opens their hand to show that for whatever reason they do not want to have to go up against Palin in an election. Like the left would want someone they approve of to go up against them in an election anyhow…..the left is confused enough as it is.

  35. David Brooks on Sarah Palin: “She’s a Joke”
Yep, she be laughing all the way to the bank :-)

  36. If they did what they did to Sarah to Michelle Obama we wouldn’t hear the end of it. Media is so biased it’s sick.

  37. If she didn’t have some “game” they wouldn’t be so afraid of her.

  38. More popcorn!! She sure knows how to shake’m up!

  39. Do you think Newsweek did this because Sarah didn’t say whether or not she read “Newsweek” when the “Perky One” (that’s Katie to you elite liberals out there) asked our “America’s Sweetheart, Sarah” what her choice of reading material was.

  40. The female face of the Republican Party is Sarah Palin. The female face of the Democrat Party is Nancy Pelosi. YOU MAKE THE CALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
