Media Ignores Climategate Even as NASA Is Dragged Into the Scandal

The state-run media may be ignoring the greatest scandal in modern science but unfortunately for them the story is not going away.
NewsBusters reported, via Instapundit:
“An hilariously bizarre situation is happening in the wake of the growing Climategate scandal. Many of the mainstream media stories about global warming are simply pretending it doesn’t exist. Perhaps they feel that by ignoring Climategate entirely that it will just go away. Unfortunately for them, the readers of these global warming stories keep bringing up the inconvenient truth of Climategate by mentioning the scandal in the comments section over and over and over again.”
And, now NASA is being dragged into the scandal.
The Competitive Enterprise Institute filed notices of intent today against NASA for refusing to release climate documents requested under the Freedom of Information Act.
The American Spectator reported:
Today, on behalf of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, I filed three Notices of Intent to File Suit against NASA and its Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), for those bodies’ refusal – for nearly three years – to provide documents requested under the Freedom of Information Act.
The information sought is directly relevant to the exploding “ClimateGate” scandal revealing document destruction, coordinated efforts in the U.S. and UK to avoid complying with both countries’ freedom of information laws, and apparent and widespread intent to defraud at the highest levels of international climate science bodies. Numerous informed commenters had alleged such behavior for years, all of which appears to be affirmed by leaked emails, computer codes and other data from the Climatic Research Unit of the UK’s East Anglia University.

AGW happens in computer models, which follow no standards, run on usually outdated machines (I have yet to hear that anyone even uses the Earth Simulator for any of these) and try to foresee the development of a non-linear chaotic system.
That alone should tell everyone that this AGW stuff is nothing but a load of BS.

The minute the Senate is back in session, there should be a resolution expressing the sense of the Senate that not one more dime should be spent on global warming, especially on the Copenhagen Conference. The resolution should be signed by 40 Republican Senators and of course, any Democrats that wanted to.
This would break this fraud wide open.

Absolutely, Andreas. The problem w/their “models” is that the whole atmosphere is in constant flux. Constant. You cannot hope to take a snapshot of data and forecast anything from the picture. By the time the picture is developed, the variables have changed. All of their models (necessarily) rely on constants, and in the wacky world of gasses, thermal and hydro dynamics, there are no constants.
AND, while we’re on the topic, when did good science EVER come out of a consensus? If science relied on consensus, we would still be living in caves, wearing animal skins, and worried about sailing over the edge of the earth. This madness needs to end NOW.

This is standard ops for the MSM when a protected group or idea is under siege. Just as with Rathergate, Eason Jordan, and the Swifties, for example, the story does not exist until the protected ones fabricate a defense. Expect to see the story on the front page in about two weeks, and expect it to be an attack on those who raised the issue.

I lean to the left on most issues, voted for Obama, and believe we need some degree of universal healthcare. HOWEVER, I believe man-made “global warming” is based entirely on junk science. The so-called scientists who promote this nonsense should be tried as criminals, given their fabrication of data and attempts to keep quiet others (real scientists) who disagree with their claims – and there are FAR more of those than the media would want you to believe.
Countries, stupidly, have wasted billions of dollars on researching a phenomonon that doesn’t exist. And scientists will be trusted less even when real issues concerning human and environmental health emerge.
One thing that really bothers me is that, despite overwhelming evidence that the top “scientists” in this field are frauds, NPR, like all the other mega-media companies, continues to do story after story about the effects of global warming. What planet are they living on? It angers me that the one media outlet I love has fallen into some kind of group-think black hole that is destroying their credibility with listeners like me.
