Talk radio host and best selling author Mark Levin will join with Michele Bachmann on the Capital Steps on Thursday at noon. Concerned Americans will join the top conservatives to protest the Pelosi nationalized health care disaster.
From Representative Bachmann’s website:
Bachmann Calls on the American People to Bring the Town Hall To Washington “This is the deciding moment and the people need to make sure their representatives know where they stand.”
Washington, D.C., Nov 2 -
WHAT: Health Care “House Call” on Washington Press Conference
WHO: Republican Members of Congress
Americans concerned about our health care future
Other Guests – TBAWHEN: Thursday, November 5, 2009 from 12:00-1
WHERE: East Front Steps of the U.S. Capitol (House Side)
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann released the following statement as the House of Representatives approaches a vote on the Democrats’ health care reform proposal:
“The American people spoke loud and clear at town hall meetings all across the country throughout August. But, it would appear that Congress didn’t hear a word they had to say. The Democrats’ latest health care proposal unveiled late last week may be packaged a little differently, but it’s the same old bad bill as before.
“This bill is a trillion-dollar, budget-busting, government takeover of our health care system. It will put bureaucrats between people and their health care. It will lead to rationed care, hurting the most vulnerable amongst us first. It will break the bank, leaving our children to pay the bill with diminished freedoms and dwindling prosperity.
“The American people need to stand up again and make sure that Congress hears them this time. Speaker Pelosi is putting her bill on fast track to a vote – and it remains to be seen if the House will even get a chance to vote on the commonsense Republican alternatives. The people need to make a House Call on Washington this week and tell their Representatives to vote no to a government take-over of one-fifth of our economy. This is gangster government at its worst.
“I urge all Americans to come to Washington this Thursday. Come and meet up with your Representative and tell them that you want to control your health care.”

We must not let this monstrosity become law. Do not let up on your congressman, your senator. Call, write, do all you can to protest this abomination.
Jules Hamil commented:
I’m targeting my phone calls in on the “junior representatives” who shake and quake when “ruthless Nanzi” speaks. They need to stand tall and listen or like Rush says..she’ll lead them over the hill to fall and could care less. Thank God for Mark Levin. So many good people standing up for right.

I’d like to be there but this is darned short notice for anyone more than a few hundred miles away. Looks like good weather anyway clear and 57 degrees.
jeff commented:
I hope we can stop most of the damage, but clearly the Dems will do anything to get a framework through. The framework will provide the structure to move to single-payer as Obama and other Libs want
So…what is plan B? Given that something will pass, probably a pretty aggresive bill…what will the next steps be?
Many belive that it is irreversible. Is that true?
Is it inevitable that whatever passes will first doom the current system so that single payer looks like a good solution?
Elizabeth commented:
Agesilaus, I’m thinking of making the drive…about 800 miles. IF this monstrosity goes through, I don’t want to have to tell my children and grandchildren that I sat on my hands. Do you? Sure it’s inconvenient, but the alternative is pretty terrifying.
We’re at the cusp of liberty and tyranny, friends. Time to choose sides and fight!

No law is engraved in stone. What one congress enacts, the next can repeal.
That’s why the 2010 mid-term elections are so important. If enough democrats are reolaced by Conservatives, obama can be stopped; and he’ll be, essentially, a lame duck.
And, whatever provisions of the bill that are set to take place before 2012 can be stopped simply by a Conservative congress refusing to appropriate any money for theit implimentation. And obama’s executive orders to allocate money for it can be stopped by the congress as well.
Then, in 2013, the bill itself – and the parts hidden in other bills – can be repealed.
That’s why it is essential that we start now to work for the Conservative politicians who will represent us, rather than the government against us.
Never say never about any of that stuff. Even if (when) the bill passes, it’s not the end of the fight.

My Representative will be voting “no”. I am confident of that vote. My Senators wouldn’t vote “no” even if they knew their jobs were on the line. They would follow Reid off a cliff.

We have a few buses going down and some will be driving. Come join us…

Folks check with your tea party websites, resist.net has a ton of info as well. Many states are putting together buses to make the trip which makes it convenient and affordable.

Can’t be there. Got unemployment to suck up here in Florida. But I’m with you all the way in spirit!!

God bless all of you who can get down to Washington. If you see Pelosi tell her she can keep her change–we love our country just the way it is.
Sandy commented:
Tomorrow’s elections are very important–if we can sweep all three maybe the Blue Dogs will realize they are goners next year if they vote for this bill.
The election I’m the most concerned about is NJ. However, Christie said there are 300 volunteer lawyers available and Fox News is sending out a crew to monitor the polling places.
Sandy commented:
Jeff in 1980 Congress passed a bill which would add Catastrophic Coverage to Medicare. This was so unpopular that it was repealed. So yes, it can be done.

Life’s highways are bi-directional
The road you travel out on today may be the same road you travel back on. So if you litter along the way with negative statements and disrespect for America your return trip will not be a pleasant one.

Go get ‘em Michele! Wish I could be there in person but I’m there in spirit. BTW, danfromtexas, enough with the Special Olympics stuff.

I would love to be there but can’t because of time restraints. I am writing to remind those in Washington who they work for and it is not Nancy.
