Today’s chutzpah award goes to the distinguished liberal from Arkansas—
Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) told her senate colleagues tonight before the nationalized health care vote:
“We should be stopping the growth of government not expanding it more.“
Of course, she then proceeded to vote with her fellow democrats on their nationalized health care bill.

It simply is not equatable…
After the failures of socialized Medicine in the World, the failures of various US Government run Programs, the vivid oppressive existence of the collectivist communist experience, only an utter fool would push this folly upon the USA.
But that is today’s modern Democratic Party.
And utter disaster, which will raise the cost of living for all, crush opportunity for all, kill progress for all, ruin the freedoms we all cherish, etc.
They are not helping the less fortunate, but as we experienced during the Carter Era, making matters far worse.
Today, with Reid, Franken, Dodd, Schumer, Boxer, Kerry, etc., in control of the Senate, no one is safe.
Especially with the Democrats having control of the House and the White House.
If we don’t empower the GOP this 2010, it is over.

Total baloney. The November 3rd elections proved that we can toss Dems from power even when they pull out all the stops to keep their jobs. Corzine was part of the Dem machine, and he’s gone.
We’ll do exactly the same for the others. The notion that we can’t remove the Dems from power is a lie. For some reason people here want to give up before the battle is fought. Well, count me out. You can surrender, but I won’t.

Just one point: Blanchie voted to let the bill move to the floor for debate. She did not vote for the bill. (Whether her vote has the result of allowing easier passage for the bill, later allowing her to vote no and only 51 Dems vote yes, remains to be seen.)

Sen Blanche Lincoln ran as a Moderate-Centrist to get elected however like all Moderate-Centrists she will always vote for Liberal Statism.
Liberal Statists have complete power over Executive, Legislative and Judicial House courts because of Moderate-Centrist voters want the government goodies paid out of their pockets except their own personal pockets.

[Abraham Lincoln called it a lullaby during his campaign against Douglas. What he meant was the political promises contrived to make people feel comfortable enough that they would sleep through the important debates (then it was slavery) and allow the back room deals to be made. In this case the democrats are allowing the lullaby to lure them into voting for healthcare legislation that will indenture every man, woman and child in this country with little or no demonstrable return to the people.
The democrats have allowed themselves to be convinced that they must pass this legislation now or be caught on the wrong side of history. What they really fear is depth-charging a President and a white house chief of staff who painted them all into a corner on healthcare legislation. What they really are doing is CYA for Pennsylvania Avenue and pretending they are doing great things. Yes, pretending, as in fiction.
If the democrats really had any backbone, they would choose this moment to stand athwart this Marxist freight train and push back. Push back the role and obscene cost of government until it resembles something other than a serpent swallowing its own tail; push back until we discover anew the ideal that we, as individuals, can take care of ourselves; push back until everyone realizes that the pervasive influence of government has never been benign and that its influence is now parasitic.
What do you suppose are the chances that those democrats will chose to fight for the real needs of the nation (defined as a return to at least one or two of our founding principles), or embarrassing a President who ignores those needs? Thought so.

A couple of points…
There is one more cloture vote. Whether she meant it or not, Lincoln informed Harry Reid that if the public option was still in the bill after the debate she would not be voting for cloture. Joe Lieberman said the same thing. He has always said he would vote to move the bill for debate. It’s the next cloture vote, the vote to end debate, that he says he will vote against if the public option is there.
The Tea Party organizations in AR, LA, NE and IN should start recall petitions against the so-called wavering Senators in these states. I know there is a controversy over whether or not a sitting U.S. Senator can be recalled but if enough signatures are collected, at least it might wake these people up. The pressure needs to come from within their own states.
Complaining on the blogs isn’t going to move anyone. Only a concerted effort by the constituents of these Senators will make the difference.
