Ed Schultz sends these photos from the steps of the US Capital—–

** CSPAN 3 has a live video stream from the rally.
Truth Czar Rep. Joe Wilson is currently speaking. There are a number of conservative Congressmen and women standing on the Capital steps speaking to the crowd.
…Where are the crowd shots?

ed1
FOX News has a report on the rally– So far no official number:

As a crowd of protesters shouted “kill the bill,” House Republicans on Thursday rallied opposition against the Democrats’ health care legislation, decrying the bill on the steps of Congress in a last-ditch bid to derail or at least delay the legislation heading toward a possible vote Saturday.

Thousands of protesters arrived by bus for the rally, which the GOP is calling an emergency “House Call.” The event drew the conservative “tea party” activists but unlike past rallies was officially sanctioned by House Republicans.

Republicans want those who attend to track down their elected representatives in Congress and put pressure on them to think twice about voting for the more than $1 trillion health care overhaul pushed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

“They’re going to listen,” said Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., who originally called for the rally. “The biggest voice in the United States is your voice.”

Republicans are formally unveiling their version of a health care reform bill Thursday.

  1. Great sign, great crowd. God Bless them all, I wished I could have been there.

  2. AWESOME!!!

    Can you hear us NOW????

  3. Good start. Now get the protesters inside the Capitol. Maybe somebody with a sign and an attitude will find his way into Nancy Pelosi’s office. :)

  4. Bravo to those who not only talk the talk, but walk the walk.

And we are 12 months away from fundamental change in Congress. (great sign).

These RINO legislators and unrepresentative representatives have time to continue to honor themselves — but not that much time.

  9. Seen Rep Aiken on C-Span last night; great presentation on the healtcare bill. He was somewhat nicer than Joe Wilson. Is that “not the truth” still a lie.

Then Grayson almost in tears (gag) lies.

  10. Fantastic. Another week’s notice, and I could have been there. Thanks to everyone who managed to pull it off.

Take note, Congress. A vote for the House bill is a career decision. It’s a suicide pact.

It is a vote in favor of slavery.

  11. looking at the pictures I see 1, 2,……..what? 10 people in all…….??

  12. This is great!!!! Wish we were there!!!

Would be there if we lived closer.

  17. Wish I could be there, I am calling emailing Susan Davis. You have my Support, thank you for being there!

  18. Thanks for your efforts Jim … You are the new news service.

  19. The major news outlets aren’t covering this…I wonder why? Hmmm.

I wish I could be there.

Not sure if this will make a difference though. Congress is set on their HELLthcare bill and raming it down the American peoples throats.

One year till they will be gone!

  20. Much gratitude to Michelle Bachman and all the patriots who made the trip on such short notice to try to kill this destructive legislation.

  21. It’s On. It’s Massive!
What? Three pictures of maybe 100 people? You know, there is software that can make it LOOK like more. This looks pretty pathetic.

  22. I can’t wait until next November, when the “we” can elect another career politician or lawyer to tell us/me what we can or cannot do.

I can’t wait. Take that back–when a mass of true (emphasis “true”) Americans actually storm the joint, and literally throw the bums out, I’ll be there and re-enter the “system,” so to speak. Simply exchanging one idiot for another via the God-Almighty “vote” is merely the working version of the old definition of insanity.

Pessimistic? No! I am positive this regime in DC will collapse, but not because of a march and signs and all of that.

It will take far more than that, and America is not ready for that step yet. Rail on me if you will, but you know it is true.

    Test:

Q: Which politician has pledged himself (and followed through) to opposing every single redistributive scheme hatched by Congress?

    A: None. Not one.

Ah, well . . . Me? Been fighting this war way too long. The people have to use THEIR nuclear option, and, well, that means the kiddies and the cars and the TV and puters and comfy couches might no longer exist.

Our founders were willing to do that, but we as a nation are nowhere near there yet. Just elect the right person . . .

    Yeah . . . sure.

So I just watch the show.

  36. liars – it’s not big at all. i say only a few hundred people attended. LISTEN TO MMMEEEEE.

  37. Too funny.

I run the danger of being labeled a “troll” because I seem argumentative, but consider . . .

The GOP is NOT fighting “health reform”–they just presented a cheaper version. $60 Billion or so. Gee, that’s real “conservative.” ONLY $60 billion dollars. Thanks guys, for being so thrifty with OUR money.

There is nary a thing in the Constitution, despite Burris’ BS, that empowers Congress to do any of this. The GOP is Dem Lite. Or, just plain “dim.” If they were truly “limited government and pro-rights,” this would have been over months ago, while Pelosi would be back in SF licking her wounds at Fisherman’s Wharf over a $300 meal.

Beck (Billy) is absolutely right. The ‘enlightenment” has given way to the “Endarkenment.” Those who should get it, are marching around with signs imagining they are accomplishing something. Like what? Do you, for a nano-second, think Pelosi cares?

If the motivation for galvanizing public opinion is wrong, the result will be wrong. I am positive about the tea-partiers–I just wish they would think for themselves. All they are doing is empowering other politicians to rule over us. Gee–that makes sense.

Sigh. Gummint, like the Yanks, always wins in the end.

  45. I watched it live on CSPAN-3 and it was pretty painful. They should have limited the speakers to Bachmann, Voight, and Levin. But, alas, it went on for almost 2 hours. While no one spoke for long, too many politicians were called to the mic and it got real old real fast. And I was home with a beer, a cigarette, and a bathroom. It must have been very frustrating for all those people who came from so far away to have to stand there and listen to politician after politician say pretty much the same thing over and over and over again.

Cripes. If there were any reps in their offices when the rally started they were long gone before it finally ended at 2PM.

    I wish I could have been there, but I’m glad I wasn’t.

Pumas Unleashed: Obama’s “Godfather” — The Nature of the Beast

[Soros implemented the Dean Plan in the 2008 Democratic Primary. He showed the Obama campaign how to co-opt the media and exploit its pathological hatred for Hillary Clinton. Also, he invested in their parent companies. I fully expect that Soros views them in the same terms Lenin did–useful idiots.

If you study the primary you will see the hand of Soros at every turn, from his ACORN and SEIU thugs, to the 2000 complaints of voter fraud and intimidation, to the takeover of the Democratic National Committee, to the admission that Obama was pre-selected, to the disenfranchisement of voters by the Rules and Bylaws Committee, to the tidal wave of untraceable money.]

people are waking up.. faster please!!

  47. I delivered a letter to my Rep. (Tierney, ugh) and ran into a few others doing the same. Sure wish I could be there. Great shots! Janet

  48. St. Louis had a great turnout for our satellite house call at Russ Carnahan’s office today at noon. Close to 500 freedom czars and patriots turned out to protest Pelosicare and creeping Socialism. Sharp Elbows blogger was there taking lots of pics! Check out his site! We were treated to near-CONSTANT supportive honking from passing cars for the hour plus we were there.
Listen up, congress! If you sign this bill, you’re signing your own pink slips!

    It’s On. It’s Massive!
What? Three pictures of maybe 100 people? You know, there is software that can make it LOOK like more. This looks pretty pathetic.

Yeah. You’re right. Only a hundred pathetic whiners. Nothing for you to concern yourself with.

Go on back to sleep. Nothing’s happening. Everything is just wonderful and rosy in obamaland.

    Go back to sleep.

  51. Thanks for the great coverage. Linked at Bread upon the Waters, phone melter.

  52. Rumor is that someone DID get into Pelosi’s office – a frail 80-ish priest who started tearing up the health care bill and asking for explanations – rumor goes that Pelosi asked that he be removed so he was “escorted” out by some 10-odd cops where he had to sit on the curb to recover. They finally were able to get him up and escort him to an ambulance. I have photos of the arrest of this poor frail old man, but only rumored accounts of what led to this.

  53. I faxed a letter to everyone on the list yesterday. Think they’re getting it? They’d better. If not, in one year they’re back on the market looking for jobs in the Obama recession like the rest of us.

  54. I’m sure things like this are good therapy for many.

Meanwhile, if anyone would like to actually have an impact, see this.

    you are correct..

albeit “health reform” is direly needed in this nation..

what they are fighting for is to bring the best health care reform bill possible forward.. one that excludes the “public option”, and includes “tort reform” as well as many other necessities not provided by the already existing public option (ie: Medicaid/care & VA Care by any other name)..

w/o either.. no bill will be successful at anything but building the already launched into outer space deficit, indirectly killing off thousands via Obama’s Infanticide & Euthanasia protocol..

as a matter of fact, they should be thinking of ways to provide the same “insurance” they acquire for themselves & their families for our elderly & veterans vs the ObamaCare they’ve more or less been shackled with for decades, which will most likely worsen once everyone is “transitioned” to Government controlled “death panels”..

    OT.. shooting at Fort Hood..

    7 dead, many wounded.. :-(

  60. if the GOV gets massive control over health care, WATCH—for loud opponents of governmental officials to—MYSTERIOUSLY not be able to get treatments they need…

This is my opinion. It would not happen in the short run.

Yes I am cynical of too much governmental control…especially if only ONE party is in government…(I lived in Chicago—need I say more???)

  61. The massacre at Fort Hood is horrendous. The anti Obamacare troops need to keep moving forward despite that atrocity. Say prayers for those whose lives were just snuffed out and their families, and continue defending liberty, folks.

  62. MSNBC,et al: It don’t mean nothing.

No one pays attention to the concerns of people that earn their own livings and pay taxes.

Move on. Nothing to see here.

  63. I just got home form the rally. First of all, the crowd will be underestimated by the main stream media, but when you hear the roar on video from the people when the congressmen and women are speaking, you can tell it’s football stadium crowd size, not the 10,000 people that Politico cites. That’s just silly. Secondly, it was the most polite, well-behaved crowd I’ve ever seen. I think Pelosi must have ordered heavy handed treatment of rally attendees and arrests ahead of time, because my congressman, Gerry Connolly, a Dem., used very suspicious language when a citizen attempted to speak to him in the hallway. He told the gentleman to move because it was a felony to impede a congressman in the hall of congress on his way to vote. Very strange wording, given the circumstances. He wasn’t in any way blocking or impeding Connolly. On the car ride home, we heard that there were 12 arrests. (Of course not too long ago when Pelosi’s office had a sit-in from Left-wing protesters, NO ONE was arrested.) So much for transparency and equal access. Where are our equal rights?

  64. For us who could not watch it on CSPAN parts 1-3. http://www.youtube.com/user/rachelabombdotcom#p/a/u/2/8Kd3tcCWGLc

  65. For those of you who are still pathetically sleeping, you will wake up one day—but it may be too late for you. Unfortunately you who are dissing the rally today are scared of what’s happening. You dont want to think of your Messiah and his henchmen not winning. Why? Because you are supremely brainwashed by the biggest liars in the history of our government. When you have no money left in your pockets due to outrageous taxes, then you will start waking up and seeing the light. Til then, just go back to sleep and hide your heads in the sand—because you’re too stupid to do otherwise.

  66. To JB~~

I’m not sure if you’re a troll or not, but you are misinformed and misguided. maybe a better label is just ignorant.

  67. This is sooo Astroturf. And by Astroturf I am referring to Madamme Speakers version towards the Tea Partyers orginal grass roots efforts to canvass regular Americans to sacrifice a small part or their day from normally working for a living and paying the taxes for the Madamme’s $60,000 per flight trips back and forth to San Francisco. Not Astroturf in the Madamme’s sense where she organizes SEIU members with free bus rides, lunch boxes, and preprogrammed tape reels of nonsensical buzzwords, catch phrases, and colorful signs about considering the children.

  68. God Bless Mark Levin and all the patriots that made it to the rally today!!

  69. I, along with many thousands of prople were there with you in spirit. May God bless you all.

  70. I want to take the time to thank every ‘PATRIOT’ who attended the rally in DC today. I wish, I could’ve been there to cheer you on, but it was impossible.

I will be there ‘TAX DAY 2010′ God Willing.

We have the ‘VOTE’ to send our legislators home, if they continue, to ignore our ‘VOICE’.

  71. I want to thank all of you for attending, I wish I could of been there. Thanks for all that are sending a message saying enough is enough!!!! Come on 2010

  72. Awesome rally today to help keep health insurance private and for us who can afford to pay for it. If you cant afford it too bad because its like owning a nice BMW were only us few privilaged ones should have it. Just got back and cant believe how many people that attended. Had to be close to a million people if not larger.

  73. Did any one get a over head view.

  74. Nasty Pelosi- Can you hear us NOW???

  75. YeeHaw! Awesome! A proud day for the Tea Party Movement. And to think that this was organized and all of the Patriots from around the USA assembled in Washington DC in just one week. :-)

    God Bless America!

Thoughts & Prayers to all at Fort Hood and RIP Dear Soldiers. :-(

  76. it was another great event for america. the fools in the democrat party have yet to see that the light at end of the socialism tunnel is a freight train called freedom.

  77. So glad so many turned out for the rally. Wish I could have been there again as on 9/11/09.
We’ll do it again next September!

  78. Someone said earlier that the rally went on for 2 hours and it was boring.

I appreciate every one of those speakers because they speak for me. It has been said that Democracy is the greatest form of Govt if we can keep it. Today the people speaking and those who traveled to Washington from all over the country are trying to keep it for the rest of us. Thanks to each and every one of them. If we spoke 24/7 for the next year it couldn’t make up for the BS being spouted from the other side. God Bless America and those who stand on the firing line to keep the rest of us safe.

  79. Boxer rams through cap & trade with no GOP there for the vote . . .

Pelosi reneges on 72 hour read time and calls for Saturday vote.

    Like I said first posting–Pelosi doesn’t care.

And no, Sue, I am not ignorant. I pay attention to it all, and I know how these people work. And rather than hit me with your ad hominem statement–an old Dem trick–demonstrate precisely how I am “ignorant.”

I was watching this same stuff go on 40 years ago, and standing up against it then.

P.S. The “troll” comment on my part was merely an attention getter. :-)

  80. This is so very awesome! I didn’t get to be there but I mailed 40 Democrat Senators pocket Constitutions. They should have arrived today. I did get to spend the evening lol’ing while the Oklahoma House Speaker got roasted!

  81. If you cant afford it too bad because its like owning a nice BMW were only us few privilaged ones should have it.

As opposed to your overlords riding around in limousines, while the most they will let you have is a Trabant … if even that?

Those who oppose Obamacare support policies that will empower ALL Americans to obtain and manage their own health care …

… as opposed to placing care — not just its funding — under the total, top-down, one-size-fits-all control of a few Best and Brightest who, despite their Ph.D’s and their budgets, don’t really have a clue about what YOU need.

  82. OOPS — first paragraph above should have been italicized.

  83. Any aerial crowd shots? The coverage of this event seems muted given that Dems are attempting to take control of such a large part of the economy….frankly I would rather Walmart handled it…I just want my price to come down!

  84. Considering the front lawn of the Capitol held 20,000 with Chairs, rows and ailes between the 20,000 seated chairs for inaugural of the President, having the lawn full, elbow to elbow amount to triple that amount.

So, if the lawn is full the amount would be 60,000. With persons on the peremiters, not allowed for an inaugural, for security reason the amount at rally is quite large. Double 60,000????
