“You Lie!”

Obama told America that his nationalized health care bill would not cover abortion.
He lied.
Now the House Democrats are outraged that the Stupak Amendment will ban abortion funding from the health care bill… If it is not snuck back into the bill later.
The House is voting on the Stupak Amendment tonight.
More… Betsy added this:
The Stupak amendment is cover for the blue dogs. Somehow the dems will have funding for abortion no matter what they try to tell us.
Agreed.
UPDATE: 35 dems now oppose the dem’s nationalized health care bill.
Maybe Pelosi’s blue dogs really are howling?

They are getting caught in their lies I hope the public sees it.

I’m concerned they will write back in what they want if it passes.
Is there no checks and balances for this kind of maneuver?

Betsy, agreed. It’s all cover. If the GOP were really serious about killing this thing they’d go all in and abstain from voting this amendment letting the donks twist in the wind. I mean if you truly don’t want this thing to pass then you stick to principle and do eveything possible to stop it. And if not voting on this amendment stops it then do it. That’s the fundamental problem with the GOP, they always fight fair (when they fight at all) and fighting fair gets you nowhere when defending liberty against the Marxists.

Ruth…
If the Stupac amendment passes and isn’t stricken by other language then it will be part of the House bill if the overall bill passes. The House bill will have to be reconciled with the Senate bill. Changes will be made in conference but then both chambers have to vote again. If the language of the Stupac amendment is changed or taken out of the conference bill, the blue dogs can join the Republicans in killing the whole thing.

And I meant Stupak…Trying to do too many things at once…sorry.

Republicans don’t do “stick to principle”.
