46 handshakes, One bow
Compilation of Emperor Akihito shaking hands with other foreign (and domestic) leaders, juxtaposed to Obama shaking hands with Emperor Akihito. Does anyone notice the difference? (Hint: Look at the angle created between Obama’s Legs and torso)

The purpose of this bow is to convince us that his bow to the Saudi king is normal.

Hirohito killed 10,000,000 Chinese civilians and hundreds of thousands of others, save the Thais who were his allies. He was the fourth largest mass-murder of the 20th century and sixth largest in history (Genghis Khan and Tamerlane both killing in excess of 10,000,000).
Btw it’s two bows….remember Saudi Arabia?

Obamao ,the victim, is being smeared by you evil, right wing, gun totting, Bible carrying, terrorists. He wasnt bowing to a person who he fully and clearly sees as a superior intellect. He was bowing because he had a sudden pain in his stomach(ulcers) caused by the need to appear with a representative of a country that was wronged by the U.S. according to the 20 yr indoctrination by rev wright.
So you can clearly see that obamao is a victim here.

Crikey, is there a single adult in the White House who can teach the commander-in-chief some presidential protocol?
The Left complained that George W. Bush was too much of a cowboy on the global stage.
It’s better than having a waterboy:
First, the Saudi King. Now, the Japanese Emperor. What’s he going to do with Russian President Medvedev on Sunday — the downward-facing dog yoga pose?
FYI: Everyone else in the world seems to know how to greet the Japanese Emperor without scraping the floor…
BOW….WOW…..

LOL, Obowma, that’s fitting. He appears to be a rather insecure person who resorts to gestures to either insult those he needs to work with, or to curry meaningless favor with complete strangers. Obowma is a political fool.

Seriously guys? What’s the issue here? The President bowed to a Japanese leader, in whose culture that’s considered polite.
How is this any different from Bush kissing on the cheek and then holding hands with Saudi leaders?
Understand, I’m not mocking Bush for doing that either–that’s considered polite in Saudi culture. I just want to understand why you see Obama’s bowing as someone stranger than that.
Can someone please help me?

In Japan “bowing” is a sign of subservient (lower caste). Example: a peasant will bow before the queen and not the other way around.
So what Obama did is let the world know, that America is weaker than Japan. Example: lapdog is weaker than it’s master.
This wasn’t a normal bow, this was a full “almost horizontal bow”. Japanese scholars will be studying this “bow” for decades to come. Even in Japan, the people where amazed at Obama’s great skill at bowing.

Thanks Jonyjoe. But what did it mean when Bush kissed and held hands with the Saudi Prince, when 15 of the 19 hijackers on 9/11 were Saudis. Did that let the world know that America is weaker than Saudi Arabia because it won’t hold SA accountable for the murder of 3000 Americans?

The extremely low bow that Obama performed is not “considered polite” in Japan. It’s a sign of total subservience, abject apology, or deep gratitude. None of these are appropriate for the president of the United States to display when greeting the Japanese emperor.
The liberal spin on this is truly hilarious. You’re telling us that we didn’t see what we saw with our own eyes. This is why the Democrats are facing electorate slaughter in the next election. You guys appear to be instinctively dishonest. That’s not something most people want from the political party in power.

This Kenyan idiot (Obowma) is an insecure child-man and has a very serious mental problem.
Jim R commented:
In Japan, the the bow is laced with meaning. A “normal” bow of acknowledgement and politeness is little more than a distinct head nod. Deeper bows (of 15 degrees or so) indicate respect and extreme politeness, while even deeper bows of 30-45 degrees are reserved for lesser to greater personages such as to the Emperor. A full deep bow such as made by Obama indicates (to a Japanese) deep, even abject apology (and even then should not include a handshake). I would read this as an abject apology for the U.S. by Obama, undoubtedly for having the bad manners to win WWII, and even worse, for being evil enough to use nuclear weapons against the peace loving Japanese empire in 1945. But never fear, now that the “one” is here, it will never happen again.

Because real American bow to no earthly potentate. We expect that our flag will never be dipped to any world leader, nor should our president ever, under any cercumstances should, bow to any human being, group of human beings, or governing entity.
To do so it to show distain and disrespect for all those who, from the founding of this great nation, have given their all so that we would never have to kowtow to anyone at any time, or in any place.
We are Americans, WE BOW TO NO ONE on this Earth.
